  1. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s an all pro at guard as well.
  2. Because I said so.
  3. Different. Things were never simpler. It just seems that way when you’re a kid.
  4. Ya gotta dance with who brung ya.
  5. Snyder saw how much he stood to lose with his corporate sponsors threatening to pull the plug on his unshared revenue stream. And you’re absolutely right that he couldn’t care less that some people are offended by the team name. It will be interesting to see how the new team gear sells though. I think it will be a big seller.
  6. The very nature of pandemics is political. That said, the single most important factor in not sewing division during a pandemic is leadership that stresses the importance of banding together and the need to make the necessary sacrifices to bring it under control. We don’t have that kind of unifying leadership. Not even close. Indeed, we have leadership that seeks to foster the opposite.
  7. Good for Lindy. I wish him all the best.
  8. Redskins are a kind of peanut, too.
  9. I’m not surprised at all. Azar is a tool of the highest order. Pure amateur hour at HHS. It’s a shame that so many others in the various health agencies under its control have to tolerate such an unqualified person in charge.
  10. Wait, so when I close my eyes, I’m actually not invisible?
  11. LOL! But Christian Errorhoff is still on the books for another seven years at over 850k per! Can’t blame the Pegulas for being pissed.
  12. Of course as it’s been wrong before. But only rarely and with less sophisticated market analysis. Regardless, they are asserting themselves in this particular matter and Danny “NEVER! And you can put that in all caps” Snyder can’t ignore that pressure.
  13. Nonsense or not, most people or not, corporate America cares because their internal marketing studies indicate that they should and they’re willing to bet on it.
  14. Amazes me, too. The debate about the team nickname has been going on for decades as every owner of the Washington franchise has experienced protest over its use. What’s different this time is that deep pocketed corporate sponsorships are raising the issue and threatening Snyder’s unshared revenue bottom line in a very meaningful way. These companies and their internal research are way ahead in recognizing the changing demographics and see the future for what it is. And no amount of triggered response on the right is going to change that.
  15. Whether or not racism exists is not within the sole purview of those to which it’s directed to determine.
  16. Easy for you and me and those who can accept the science for what it is, but not for a certain constituency that sees wearing a mask as tantamount to forfeiting their constitutional rights, takes every opportunity to downplay the seriousness of this pandemic, and looks to their leader for inspiration in doing so.
  17. I get your point and it’s been obvious the entire time, to me at least, that Hahn, Fauci, et al are walking that fine line because they DO consider themselves more valuable on the inside and don’t want to risk getting fired for the sake of the public good. But some comments are so irresponsible that they require a rebuttal in no uncertain terms.
  18. Sorry Dean, but when it comes to this pandemic and a comment as irresponsible as the one uttered by his boss, a declarative REFUTATION of the bullcrap is required. In no uncertain terms. As one of the nation’s chief medical officers it’s on him to provide the truth when the lies of others have the potential to cause harm.
  19. His silence makes him complicit in the bullcrap espoused by his boss. It’s that simple. And he’s forgotten who he works for as a result.
  20. The Cincinnati Reds team name has nothing to do with skin color.
