Pro scouts and GMs had Allen pegged as a first round pick; pretty much after his sophomore year at Wyoming. The arm talent and athleticism were readily apparent to everyone.
You are spot on about the know it alls here and in the twitterverse , though. They just couldn’t see past his completion percentage and the occasional wild throws.
If Allen is an “anomaly” for breaking out in his 3rd year, then what is Aaron Rodgers, who broke out in his 4th?
PFF and others don’t seem to grasp that players simply can’t be shoehorned into their stat models.
Like they did when they gifted the Rams with a non-call at the end of their playoff game with the Saints two years ago. No biggie. It only cost the Saints a chance to go to the SB.
Screw the Rams. Maybe they should have stopped us from converting on a ridiculous 3rd and 22 that kept the drive alive. Maybe they never should have put themselves in a position to lose that game in the first place.
Yep, like the play in question. Maybe going to full time refs would help. It’s tough going from being a claims adjuster during the week to a ref on the weekends.
All due respect to Robert Woods, but the Rams are the LAST team to be complaining about a PI call at the end of the game given what occurred in New Orleans in the 2018 playoffs that denied the Saints a chance to go to the SB.
Why was it undeserved?
Good thing we played two halves then, because the 21 points we scored in that half sure came in handy. I’m pretty sure we deserved those 21 points, too.
Like I said previously, even though it couldn’t have been a horse collar because of the rule about being in the pocket, I wonder if unnecessary roughness would have been called if Allen was a smaller, frailer QB.
