  1. Two wrongs may not make a right, but one Wright certainly seems to make a wrong.
  2. That or the West becomes a battle of attrition and none of them ends up with the best conference record.
  3. I disagree entirely that it’s a legitimate debate because the D line played very well yesterday and it’s only those who point to the lack of sacks to claim that they didn’t have a good game who seek to make it debate worthy in the first place. Their good play was obvious. Perhaps I should have used a different word than “clueless” to describe those who didn’t see that. Perhaps “unobservant” or “oblivious” would have been better. But for crissakes, just acknowledge that there are several indicators of good D line play during the course of a game. Always has been, always will be. And that’s not minimizing sacks as one of those indicators, either. It’s just not being willing to ignore all those other indicators.
  4. Validation at last! Validation at last! Great God almighty, validation at last! You think I’m gonna be swayed by what Joe Marino or some other draft geek has to say on a podcast relative to whether or not the Bills D line had a good game yesterday? I reviewed the game. I saw what happened yesterday. No need. But good for you.
  5. Lemme know when we’re 15 games in. It’s a mighty weird game with an oddly shaped ball and crazy crap is bound to happen.
  6. Had the same thought.
  7. Pretty sure it was he can’t play in front of “clowns.”
  8. I refuse to believe that was a designed kickoff and I found the praise of the WFT special teams coach by the commentators to be nauseating. It was a totally lucky play brought on by a stadium wind gust like we’ve seen since it was built in ‘73.
  9. I appreciate the info, but I was more wondering about how they’re actually using the two TEs. They used to kill teams by using Gronk and Hernandez in 12 personnel packages and when the defense went heavy to counter that run threat, they’d go to the hurry up, flex one or both, and just kill slower LBs and smaller DBs all day. I just assumed that’s why they signed both TEs in free agency, but neither is a Gronk or Hernandez and Jones certainly isn’t Brady, I guess.
  10. I haven’t seen the Pats*** yet, but to your point about the TEs, are they using them like Gronk and Hernandez when they’d wait for a favorable sub package by the defense, go to the hurry up, and take advantage of matchups up and down the field?
  11. What does regression actually look like? Is it simply a function of lesser stats from one year to the next? Because if it is, then Josh will be in some great company if thst ends up being the case. I think the entire Josh Allen “regression” narrative is a vestige of that group of hardcore pundits who still insist on having to be right about Josh Allen coming out of Wyoming.
  12. The rest of your completely irrelevant and typical bloviation aside, the only people underselling any aspect of D line play are those whose only measurement of effective D line play is the number of sacks they get in a game. As if forcing a QB off his mark, into hurries, incompletions or interceptions just doesn't matter somehow without them. Such a laughable misunderstanding of the game.
  13. I also tip my hat to Heinecke who made some athletic plays to get out of trouble. I like him; he’s a gamer who can move when he has to.
  14. Everyone should re-watch this game and count how many times Heinecke was forced off his spot in the pocket. I’m sure he had a clean pocket here and there, but I don’t recall many at all. The idea that sacks are the ultimate measuring stick for a D line’s success or not in a game is myopic.
  15. Here, have a G dub:
  16. Gibbs did it those three times with three different QBs. I don’t like to engage in GOAT conversations, but Gibbs certainly has a seat at the table.
  17. Just occurred to me today was the first game in a while where the refs didn’t royally piss me off at least once during the course of it. They let the trenches play most of the day and I think that’s why.
  18. This is just great to see. As was Josh greeting Young in the tunnel before they ran out today. The respect these players have for each other around the league is genuine. I think there’s a lesson there for all of us.
  19. OK, let me ask you the same question: did the Bills D line play well or not? If domination, read SACKS, is the only measuring stick for success, then I suggest you adjust your expectations moving forward because domination is never the rule in this league on a week to week basis.
  20. It’s less a matter of opinion than it is a matter of understanding the game we all watched. But good for you, four people as clueless agree with you.
  21. Heinecke had no time most of the day, and that was with a play design that called for him to get rid of it quickly. Like I said, I’m not sure what game BF130 was watching. Sounds like he was just pissed that they couldn’t get Heinecke on the ground. Maybe he had the over 3 sack prop bet.
  22. Did the D line play well and have a good game or not? The screen pass aside, every play Heinecke made that hurt us, (and there were precious few for Washington today) was AFTER he escaped pressure with his athleticism. So credit to Heinecke. And NO shame on the D line. None.
