I wouldn’t make that argument at all after 5 games. We went to Arrowhead in October in 1991 and got our asses handed to us 33-6. Besides, all that matters is where teams are at the end. KC has already lost two conference games in the first four. Nothing can be determined this early.

Actually, I think the refs did. The only concern they seemed to have was whether or not Dickson had crossed the LOS which would have made it an illegal kick. But they conferred, determined his foot was on the LOS when he punted, and let it stand. The rules expert, Perrara had no clue as he immediately ruled that you can’t kick the ball twice which is incorrect.

I think they ruled that Dickson’s foot was on the line of scrimmage when he kicked. Regardless, it would be nice if Perrera knew the rules because he said it was illegal to kick it twice. If the first kick doesn’t go past the LOS and the kicker is still behind the LOS, then you can kick it twice.

Don’t let it bother you one way or the other. Win or lose, neither us or the Chiefs need the validation of pundits nationally, locally, or anywhere in between to justify their status in the league. It’s the fifth game of the season with 12 more to follow. Let’s see where everyone is at the end.

All due respect to Staley, but this is nothing new.

Ever hear the expression, “It’s better to be lucky than good?” Obviously, we’d all like to be good all the time and have our talent whip ass all the time, but even the best and most talented can’t beat bad luck. Ever hear the saying, “Nobody asks how, only how many?” If we don’t look awesome in beating the Chiefs, people won’t give a crap by the next game. Really, all Sunday’s game means is an opportunity to go two games up in the conference after five games. I think it’s important to keep perspective.

Style points don’t count. I’d rather look worse winning than look better losing.

Are we taking for granted just how tough a venue Arrowhead is to play in? Has been since it was opened. Especially in prime time, nationally televised games. We’ve gone in there with better Bills teams playing lesser KC teams during the glory years and got our assess handed to us. History, while having no relevance to this game, is not kind when it comes to playing at Arrowhead. Hoping like hell for a win, but I’ll be shocked if we do. That said, the over reaction by national media and fans to a loss to KC will be nearly insufferable. Just as it was when our SB team got blown out in KC, an October loss at Arrowhead will hardly be the defining moment of the season. I hope we can keep that in perspective.
