  1. And the annual alliteration award goes to…
  2. I don’t have the time to make all my haikus rhyme but that’s not a crime
  3. The poem police Sure to make an appearance Pee on the cornflakes
  4. I think it’s because he has three thumbs. Sure, he’s not all thumbs, but still, three is just one too many regardless.
  5. Buffalo buffa lo buffalo buffalo buffa buffalo
  6. One of a kind. A true comedian’s comedian. RIP.
  7. Gonna be a long and insufferable week in these parts.
  8. How many unsportsmanlike/personal foul penalties today? Including one on the head coach? Personnel issues aside, UB looked like it has a discipline problem and if they don’t clean that up we can expect to see more self-sabotaging efforts like today. I can accept being outplayed by a superior opponent, but stupidity can’t be tolerated.
  9. Somehow, the cargo plane is appropriate for Buffalo. It’s the blue collar, “lunch pail” aircraft of the military.
  10. Not sure I’d go as far as to say washed up, but it certainly seems to indicate a certain wearing down over the course of the season. The Steelers are fortunate to get us early in the season when his arm is presumably fresher, so I’ll be interested to see just how many long passes he attempts during the game.
  11. I don’t know that I’d characterize it as Ben having little time to throw as I would he took little time to throw which was by design. He was seldom pressured and only sacked 13 times on over 600 passing attempts. What I find most interesting is that nearly 60% of his passes were short of the first down marker according to PFF. Such a departure from the Big Ben we were used to watching.
  12. Rousseau and Epenesa are gonna be part of the rotation and my guess is 40% of the snaps for Epenesa and at least 50% for Rousseau.
  13. Are any of those Utah or Utah State QBs playing at 1pm this coming Sunday?
  14. I’m shocked, I tell ya! Shocked!
  15. I don’t disagree, I’m just indicating that hurries and pressure of any kind is difficult to generate in less than 2.5 seconds. And as you indicate, pressure up the middle, the shortest distance, is key.
  16. I don’t believe either Frazier or I said that sacks don’t matter; not even close. The point he is making and which I agree with is that sacks aren’t the ONLY indicator of an effective pass rush. And hurries DO tend to result in more turnovers. Regarding that “average” time to throw the ball, cue up some Steeler games and determine the median time to throw from last season. That Steeler offense was specifically designed to mitigate BR’s worsening ability to avoid pressure and protect him, so it was a steady diet of two and three step drops out of the shotgun and throw the ball. The longer developing deep shots were fewer and farther between than the quick hits, which is why the average time to throw was just above two seconds.
  17. Agree entirely with Frazier. Hurries also tend to result in more turnovers than sacks as well. That said, I suspect it won’t matter much vs. Big Ben as he gets rid of the ball faster than any QB in the league. It’s hard to hurry a QB in the less than 2.5 seconds he takes to get rid of the ball.
  18. Looks like Art Schlicter got out of prison just in time.
  19. As others have pointed out, it’s the 1980 opener against the ‘Phins. After going the entire decade of the 70s without beating them, winning that opener in 1980 took on historical significance.
  20. As if less statistical success automatically equals a regression. Just a ridiculously shallow take. Josh Allen could put up less numbers and STILL improve as a QB over last season.
  21. Screw Jerry Jones and the armadillo he rode in on.
