  1. Precisely why it can’t be good to have the likes of him throwing shade.
  2. I understand that. But It’s an indication that Adams couldn’t/didn’t read the situation, imo. And that’s concerning to me as a fan. Especially where a division rival is concerned.
  3. If Levi goes on to become a hall of fame goalie, so much the better. But whether or not he does is not germane to the argument I’m making and that is simply that rental players heading towards UFA status fetch less on the trade market than players with multiple years left on their contracts. If Sam stays a rental player, then the deal Adams got isn’t that bad given that first round picks are seldom given for rental players. If Sam signs a multi year deal to stay in Florida, then Adams got played and received less than a player with term should receive in a trade. And the fact it’s a division rival makes it all the worse.
  4. Oh man, it ain’t good when the likes of OJ Simpson is throwing shade on you.
  5. True, we can’t finish any worse without Reinhart. None of these departing players were ever part of the solution in retrospect, nor do I think they ever really cared to be, so there is no problem moving on from them as far as I’m concerned. I just need to be convinced Adams and Co. have the chops to turn it around. These trades are an indicator of that, imo. Better than expected with the Risto deal, but if Reinhart signs for more than a year in Florida, that trade becomes a total disaster.
  6. Yep. And that made it all the sweeter. Miami fans were talking so much crap before that game. Understandable, as they were a legit good team. But the lack of respect came back to bite them in the ass for sure.
  7. Man, we left a lot of points out there in that game. And I forgot how insufferable Bob Trumpy was.
  8. Reinhart signing long term, short term, or any term with the Panthers doesn’t do anything to help or hurt the Sabres, regardless, so I’m confused as to the point you’re making here. Where we are coming from if Sam does sign for more than a year in Florida is that since he informed the Sabres he was gonna be an UFA after this season, the expectation was that he would be a rental player for whomever he was traded to (excluding his desired teams in the Northwest) and that fact would lower his return as it does all rental players looking towards free agency. Sam signing for one year with Florida makes the deal made today more palatable for Sabre fans. A long term deal with Florida makes it almost impossible to accept and really points to Adams getting played.
  9. Somebody should offer sheet Reinhart given his current RFA status.
  10. Yep. Reinhart signing an extension with Florida changes everything. Adams got raped on this deal.
  11. As poor as the return was, it would have been worse if we waited until the deadline next year to deal him; he wouldn’t have fetched a first at that time. Rentals just don’t usually. The market for Reinhart just wasn’t as strong as we biased fans would like to think given his pending UFA status.
  12. I suspect the delay in confirming the trade was due to Reinhart not signing an extension with Florida. He wants to play out west, either Vancouver or Seattle and he can write his own ticket after the season. Getting a first for a rental is not bad, but I’d have preferred a better player prospect. Weird that Risto, also a rental, fetched more. Oh well.
  13. And another Russian with their other 2nd round pick! A whole team of Russians!
  14. Yes, ungrateful pukes. And I’m not referring strictly to today’s ungrateful pukes, either.
  15. That was fantastic. Touching, actually. Miller gets it. Unlike the ungrateful pukes who resented having to play here from day one.
  16. Is that the same Cris Carter who told the same rookies at the same symposium that they needed to have a fall guy handy in case they ever got into trouble? That Cris Carter? Yeah, I know he apologized for the remarks but only after realizing he put his media career in jeopardy by uttering them in the first place.
  17. It would be easier to wish him luck if it wasn’t in Philly, but I sincerely wish him all the best. He’s easy to root for.
  18. Sanders received his first dose on Twitter? Now that’s a neat trick.
  19. Unfortunately, given the exponential nature of viral spread in a pandemic, employees’ potential to be infected or to spread infection isn’t limited simply to the people they come in contact with while at work on a daily basis. It’s a tough call and it’s easy to understand why people rebel against it, but it’s better to err on the side of caution imo, given what we’ve seen and what we’ve learned.
  20. No, he’s certainly not obligated. But if he were smart, that’s what he would do; unless he enjoys the otherwise uninformed derision of his remarks. But he seems to like inviting and flaming the the drama his tweets create. Is it a decision for any employer in any industry to make? I suspect Dennison’s decision not to get vaccinated wasn’t made in a vacuum.
  21. I think Beasley is one of those individuals who is totally unencumbered by self awareness. I’m confident that Beasley didn’t “intend” any racist remarks. But in all the years of corporate diversity training seminars I’ve attended, one of the first things you learn in all of them is that intent doesn’t matter because it’s too late once the words are put out there. This is where cognitive awareness comes in. At the very least, Beasley’s remarks indicate a shallow disregard and disrespect for the struggles of so many minorities over the years. I can’t imagine he’s happy seeing those words in print, either. Then again, given his seeming lack of self awareness, who knows.
  22. Just saw the news. Decent haul. Well done, Kevyn Adams. Philly’s first in tonight’s draft (13th overall), 2023 2nd rounder, and a player. Not bad.
  23. I suspect those telling him what to do are just as unhappy for having to tell him in the first place.
  24. My bet is Hopkins nor anyone else “threatening” to resign based on principle won’t be willing to give up the multi millions in salary to do so. I’d have more respect for their stance if they actually did.
  25. There’s another way to look at it though and that is not being willing to accept anything less than fair value for their assets. When I read some of the crap coming from the Rangers fan base for example, I’m glad they’re sticking to their guns.
