  1. I’d give this complaint more credibility if you could point to all your posts pounding the table to draft Draisaitl at the time. Otherwise, it’s just another case of crystal clear 20/20 hindsight. There’s a lot of that in these parts though.
  2. So now simply beating an opposing player(s) to the puck is considered a dangle or a deke? Time to open the locks and let some fresh water in.
  3. Please tell me what goalie or player Evans was trying to fake out? The goalie wasn’t in the game and Scheifele hadn’t arrived yet when Evans shot the puck. So that ridiculous definition doesn’t come close to applying in this case. You’ve reached the point of self embarrassment on this topic.
  4. Hustling to beat out a possible icing call, retrieving a puck from behind the opposing net, and then scoring on a wrap around shot is now considered “cute” and deserving of a cheap shot hit? Unbelievable.
  5. Didn’t see this subject being discussed anywhere. Shame on the NFL. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/06/03/nfl-concussion-settlement-race-norming/ Does the league serve as a microcosm for wider societal attitudes?
  6. The 2 point conversion was also part of the AFL during its existence in the 60s.
  7. Sad that it’s come to this: players deliberately sustaining serious injury to avoid being drafted by the Sabres.
  8. I could do without the bickering, but yeah, the events of ‘89 served to galvanize that team and Jim finally decided to grow up. Not that Allen needs much growing up as he’s light years ahead of Kelly in the maturity department at the same age.
  9. Matty Beniers suffered a nasty looking ankle injury this morning at the IIHF world tourney and I wonder if that makes their choice of who to draft first overall any easier. Tough break for the kid.
  10. The next hurdle for Allen and the entire team, actually, is playing under the weight of raised expectations. Nice problem to have, but it can ratchet up the pressure when things don’t go well. Think ‘89 Bills.
  11. Yep. A great play by a future HOF WR who gave a clinic on the definition of high pointing the football. Sometimes ya just gotta tip your hat to the opponent. As to the throw, it was nothing special in the least; just a fly ball to the end zone. Sure, it was from midfield or there abouts, but most QBs in the league can make that throw.
  12. Ha ha, me neither. Such is my fallen interest in anything Sabres related. As to the lottery, I can’t remember a prospect group like this one. It really doesn’t matter where we pick. You can literally put the top 10 rated prospects in a hat, pull out names one at a time and rank them that way. Regardless, whoever we get and where, it will be a year or two before we see him in a Sabre uniform.
  13. Totally relatable as a long suffering Buffalo sports fan.
  14. I have no affection for the Canadians, but I do have disdain for the Leafs. So nice to see them lose tonight. Can’t see Les Habitants beating the Peg though. Jets in five.
  15. Former US Congressman, too. He was a good actor for that role on that show, but I didn’t think he’d ever contend for an Oscar.
  16. His career path as an NFL coach is etched in stone.

    Luka Doncic

He certainly has a seat at the table. And it's a round table.
  18. The Sabres have all of that...in little, inconsistent, bursts.
  19. No, but I can imagine what he said.

    Luka Doncic

What percentage of time was Leonard actually guarding Doncic? In the highlights I saw, Doncic was schooling several Clippers defenders during the course of the game. No surprise as Doncic is an amazing offensive talent. Regardless, Leonard is one of the best defenders the league has ever seen.
  21. I believe that was McD’s broader point today.
  22. Problem with Fitz is that he often didn’t have the arm strength to compensate for Stevie’s improvisational route running. That messed up timing was often visible on long outs where Fitz would literally triple hitch some of those throws to get it there in time. Josh has no such limitations.
  23. I think it’s the steel shavings in Iron City beer.
  24. I agree that he lacks experience as a college player, but to suggest he’s a converted WR is somewhat misleading. While he also played WR and safety in high school, he was a 4 star recruit as a DE and that’s what he was at the U from the moment he got there. Most heavily recruited high school players play on both sides of the ball in high school. They are too good athletically not to.
