  1. There was nothing “lucky” about it. They targeted Allen early on in the process and set about acquiring the necessary draft capital to acquire him, maneuvering from their original 21st pick overall to pick 7 in order to select him. That’s not luck, that’s a targeted strategy to acquire the player you want. If you mean they got lucky because Allen turned out to be worth the investment, then so does every team whose draft picks pan out. It’s not an exact science to say the least and no draft pick is a guarantee to develop into a star player. Far from it.
  2. Other than kickoffs, including onside kicks, what ST rules have been changed? Tasker excelled on all STs in a variety of roles. I get that STs aren’t considered a big enough part of the game (until a ST screwup costs or wins you a game), but when a player redefines a position in the game, it’s worth consideration imo. And Tasker did that.
  3. I suggest reviewing the video of every Ed Oliver snap last season.
  4. Carnac never gets old. “May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits.”
  5. A couple things to clarify: 1.) He was placed on the season-ending reserve injured list with 10 games left in the season and the decision to place him on that list was not his to make. 2.) He had permission from the team to commence training for the Olympics once his ribs healed. This idea that he was trying to pull a fast one on the Bills is just not true.
  6. Any chance Colin Miller can retire between periods? At least Granato benched half of the problem sitting Irwin, but Miller has got to go as well. He is F ing brutal!
  7. I seem to remember Chase saying something like that in some interview somewhere. And after watching it several times, I have to agree; the evidence is all there.
  8. The main difference has been that players are moving their feet for 60 minutes, which is something they simply weren’t in shape to do previously. No wonder, since Krueger didn’t conduct any conditioning skates at all and Granato said it would take a couple weeks when he took over because the players weren’t in shape. Inexcusable. Regarding the Caps coming out flat, that may be the case for the first 10 minutes last night, but they found their legs in the second half of the first period, punched us in the mouth ... and then we punched back. Every time the Caps punched, we countered. Why? Because we kept moving our feet and pressing the matter. What a concept! The Cozens line flat out line dominated. And they faced the Caps top two lines all night. I saw some analytics that illustrated that total dominance, too. I can’t remember whose Twitter feed it was, though. But it’s out there.
  9. How he dies? Other than sudden? I’d be interested in knowing what some other ideas are.
  10. Same here. I’ve watched it several times now and it still impresses. It’s funny, though, how with every viewing Tony’s character became less and less sympathetic to the point of me now considering him to be a total dick.
  11. Tony is dead. There is no doubt about it. The scene in the restaurant is shown from Tony’s POV and the last thing he saw was total blackness. This was foreshadowed in a previous episode when Tony and Bobby B were in the boat on the lake and they were speculating on what it’s like to die and agreed that everything just goes black. It took two rewatches for me to appreciate where Chase was coming from. Initially, I thought he simply left it up to the audience to make their own conclusions. But the scene on the lake and then understanding the POV nature of the restaurant scene made me come to a new conclusion.
  12. Yep. Never gets old. Drove Kiko nuts, too.
  13. Best game in a long, long time. A solid win agains the hottest team in hockey coming in. We were simply the faster, tougher team all night. I can accept not being as talented, but I can’t tolerate lack of effort and this team has done a complete 180 on the effort scale since the coaching change and getting rid of vets that didn’t give a crap. Now, sit Eakin for Caggiula, get Borgen back in for Irwin and let’s enjoy the last 13 games of the season. Oh, and a tip of the hat to Tokarski with his first win in 6 years.
  14. The NHL is a joke and should be sued for dereliction of duty when it comes to player safety. It’s more important to prevent any forfeiture of TV revenue in this compacted season than it is to prevent risk to players. We saw that with how they handled the Devils/Sabres game early on which led directly to our two week pause and subsequent consequences. I’m surprised the NHLPA hasn’t raised a stink with the league yet. To go from 10 days of quarantine to one practice and a pregame skate to playing the Oilers and Leafs immediately as part of a 5 games in 7 days grind is ludicrous. Not to mention grossly unfair.
  15. Outstanding! All I could come up with is Clowney Browny.
  16. Karmanos in the fold. This is a good thing.
  17. Yes. And they have little choice BUT to follow that regulation as the facility is a county (read government) owned facility. If the Bills didn’t want to follow the regulation, they could try to play elsewhere, but then they’d be in violation of their lease with the county.
  18. And the technology has been around for a while now. It’s been used in animal and human trials for over a decade, with promising results in the treatment of some cancers in those trials. If mRNA vaccines were going to be a major health risk, those risks would have been well known by now. In the 40,000 some odd Pfizer trials before they were granted the EUA, there were ZERO allergic reactions. Thru the first two months of vaccinations, the rate was approximately 5 reactions per million shots administered. That’s remarkable. I find the science behind it all extremely fascinating.
  19. No worries. A new owner could conceivably buy it if the county was willing to sell, but it would be a separate transaction from the purchase of the team. Much like when the Pegulas purchased the team from the the Wilson foundation and they had to abide by the lease agreement in place.
  20. You are misinformed. Erie County has owned the stadium since it was built. The Bills (PSE) are its chief tenant and operator.
