TSW 2.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #56
NewEra replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Torn between Sanders and the WRs. I think Harris is the better WR but i’m a huge fan of watching Royals. I’ll go with Harris due to the size component. Not sure why you guys want to double down on 1T and draft Collins here. 🤷🏻♂️ I think sanders would be better for our D after the drafting of Grant -
I’m not against drafting one either, but we’d be neglecting one of our biggest needs- someone to keep the opposition off of our mini injury prone LBs that at made to fly around. I don’t consider Burch and Sawyer DTs and I wouldn’t draft Phillips in rd 2. Looks like we just differ in our opinions of what this team needs most on D. To me, DTs that hold their ground vs doubles and have the ability to get after the QB are more valuable than corners. If you can’t move the QB off his spot- it doesn’t matter who’s covering. It’s my opinion our lack of pass rush has led to our demise the last handful of seasons. I think a legit dual threat DT would have an greater impact on our defense. But I suppose some can say the cornerback play is of equal blame.
-
Yet we said the same exact thing but in reverse in 1.0. There weren’t any Dts worth a dam and Porter was there waving at us. Everyone just had to have Amos and we drafted a safety and a 3T in rd 2. 🤷🏻♂️
-
Use one 4th to move up in rd 2 and the other packaged with later picks to move up in rd 4. I have a feeling he may go in rd 3 though.
-
Which works for me. My point in all of this is that I think it would be a mistake to pass on Grant or Harmon because they are the only 2 1T, that may be available to us, that have the pass rush upside. Maybe Tyliek can push the pocket some and I’d be ok with drafting him in rd 2…. But we’d likely have yo trade up for him too. That said- if we’re going to have to trade up in rd 2- I’d rather it be for a corner while taking grant or Harmon rd 1.
-
Does that mean that Harmon can’t play 1T or does that mean that they had 2 capable DTs and played both of them? Caldwell certainly isn’t a candidate for the 3T. He looks capable to me from what I’ve seen. You don’t think so? Pretty much every scouting report I’ve read says that he can 2 gap, is very stout and tough to move. He’s just not a good finisher vs the run- more of a clogger.
-
Well, you are proving my point. This is why we shouldn’t pass on the opportunity to land Grant or Harmon. I think both of them have pass rush upside along with the ability to be the run stuffer we need. I don’t think we should be looking for another 3T or any pure pass rushing DT.
-
He’s my pick too, but not at 62. If we draft 2 positions before corner, we best not miss on the guy we want. I have a feeling all the 1Ts with the slightest pass rush ability and starting caliber CBs are going to be selected before our picks. No clue which one- but I’d be happy with any of them if we can land Grant or Harmon in rd 1
-
And which DT to you land when Grant inevitably gets drafted before our pick? it seems to me that we’re going to have to trade up in rd 2 if we want to land a CB and a DT that we’d be happy with. I think there will be a handful of corners we’d be ok with in mid rd 2- I really only see 1 DT (Tyliek) and he might go rd 1 too. The more I watch Collins, the more I think he’s just a rotational guy with no pass rush. Which other 1T capable DTs will be there for us in rd 2 if we don’t move up? CJ West? Based on the draft class- I think it would be a mistake to pass on Grant or Harmon if either are available @ 30. Trade up for one of the corners.

I have always disliked Doug Flukie
-
Yeah, I couldn’t believe he was still available. I was about to accept your trade but thought to myself “hmmm let me just check to see if Simmons is still available”. Made it easy to decline the offer.
-
The KC Theifs (sp- yes I know) select Josh Simmons OT- Ohio St. Obvious massive need still imo. Watching lots of niner games, I’m of the belief that Jaylon Moore is a backup caliber LT. I hope this doesn’t happen irl
-
Grant is the obvious choice imo. If he weren’t on the board, I would be good with the trade down.

Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
NewEra replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
guys that I’ve watched: Gilmore Benford Tre Clements Winfield Odomes -
Oh for sure - hence the “certainly different situations as one was a looney toon”. but he was in the midst of one of the greatest 6 year WR runs ever
-
Antonio Brown? Same age at TJ. Came off 100+ catches, almost 1300 yards and career high 15 TDs certainly a a different situation as one was a looney tune, but he was as good as it gets as a WR when he was traded.
-
Chiefs, eagles, ravens,
-
I love me some Bech, but I don’t see him as what this team needs. A vertical separator. I think he’s similar to Keon in many ways- line him up in the slot and get him the ball and let him RAC or throw him 50/50 balls in the sideline. ain’t no one worried about him beating people deep and that’s what this team needs imo. The threat.
-
Which WRs warrant the pick? Golden? Anyone else? Tet? Both likely gone by 30. Burden? Can he play outside full time? If golden is there, take him. That’s about it
-
Milroe is a raider.
-
The ravens select Kaleb Johnson, RB Iowa. as a bills fan scouting draft prospect in 2025, I haven’t put a minute of time into the OL. I may have gone OG if I knew anything about these guys, but I don’t. Zy Alexander would’ve been my pick based on need but I’m going with BPA and scheme fit. Savion was a thought ans well. This allows us to move on from Henry if he wants big bucks after this season, his age 31 season. Or keep both and batter everyone to death. We’re confidant Johnson will eventually be top 5 back if he were the bell cow @Logicis up
-
I’m not of that opinion. I said that the general consensus is that he’s a better corner than WR. I also said that he brings more value to a team as a full time corner/part time WR because playing full time WR and part time CB is very unlikely (imo) there’s no chance for him to become a Bill so I haven’t spent any time on his tape - so my general thoughts have been formed by what I’ve read and by the games I’ve watched of his on TV- maybe 6-7 of them
-
Seems like a rd 3 at the very latest. Stock rising in a big way. He’s electric.

TSW 1.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #62?
NewEra replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
💯 if we went Nolan round 1- i am confidant that someone would’ve drafted him before our pick in 2nd 2. I definitely agree that trading up in rd 2 is the key (if it falls like this)- I’d go so far as to trade both of our 4th and maybe another to move up with both of our 2nd. Feels like the guys remaining are 3rd rounder. If it fell like this I’d probably take Bond or judkins (and get whatever I could for cook, even if it’s a 5th) or trade down. -
What a fool
