Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
NewEra replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Finally got around to watching his PC. Very loveable guy. He’s going to fit in well with our locker room and help build on the family type foundation Mcd and Beane have built. Two thumbs up for this pick. While I was on board with Amos at 30, i felt like Hairston was the higher upside pick. I wanted the speed. I can’t lie. listening to an interview with Amos on yt, I wasn’t impressed. Didn’t seem very sharp to me. Max has charisma -
Bills 3rd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : Landon Jackson - DE - Arkansas

Would’ve been a solid pick at 62. Likely took the same guy we would’ve taken. Diminishing any value we may have lost in the trade up. Basically gave up a 4th to move up 15 spots (iirc). Not bad -

What happens every year? The Bills pick a player ahead of the chiefs and the chiefs player turns out better? 🧐 -
Chiefs focusing on pass rush- not surprised

Yeah, sorry, he only helped them win a Super Bowl. that’s fine- we all knew you’d find this to be a bad strategy -

Trading extra capital to draft a player that you’ll eventually call a bad pick. Then we’d listen to you tell us how we should’ve traded up to get a difference maker. Because that’s what this team is missing. Impact players. But it seems that only players that play 80% of the snaps can be an impact player. -

We wasn’t good enough to demand a 2nd contract? lol @ the things that you lean on. He was good enough that another team paid him 26M per season. carry on. Get us off the field on 3rd down in the playoffs and it’ll be worth the trade up. No one has been able to do that for Josh Allen. Inside pass rush. Beane wanted it and he got it with the best one remaining. That had a cost because staying where we were, I doubt he’d have been there. You hate it. I get it. It’s all very predictable -

A guy like Milton Williams? He played under 50% of the snaps for the eagles If a player makes impact plays in key situations, being a “rotational piece” means nothing. If he doesn’t- then, it will be a bad pick/trade. -
He played the best game of his career in the SB. Recency bias
-
The people crying are just fixated on size. “The eagles are big. We need to get big!” When we just need to get off the field on more 3rd downs. That’s why pass rushers are so important and why Sanders is a Bill.
-
I’d take sanders over Farmer every day. Collin’s is fine- to plug the run and sit on the sideline every 3rd down. I get it- I would’ve been happy with Collins too, but I’ll take an elite athlete pass rusher over a run plugger that can’t rush the passer every day. I’m glad we did. We drafted 2 guys that can really help our D get off the field on 3rd down. Can’t say enough about it
-
What other DTs would you want? Collins is the only guy left that anyone could make a case for imo….. and he’s a terrible pass rusher. If we’re going to draft someone strictly to plug the run, with no pass rush ability, I’d rather take them with a later pick
-
He’s a beast. I’m good with it
-
Eizeraku?
-
Adding him for 2025 would be worth the 4th imo. Not sure if we’d want him past 2025 though
-
Except…. He doesn’t call the game.
-
That would be amazing. Emphasis on “would be”. Too bad that won’t happen

I’m happy. When the DTs went off the board, I was just hoping for starks, Amos, Hairston or Golden…..or possibly Johnson (but I was hesitant due to the knee). it’s been awhile since we’ve had a corner that can run like that. Since never. I love the way he plays downhill and attacks, but I think he needs 1-2 more layers of muscle on him. Worried he won’t hold up if he lays the wood on the wrong ball carrier. but I’m happy and he seems like a character
