There’s a chance that he might not want to join a ps and would rather sit and wait for the right opportunity, maybe due to injury. or maybe no one wants him. 😂 I’d feel a lot more comfortable about the S position if we had him. I was hoping for the 2024 version of Rapp. So far, it looks like we have the 2016 version of Donte Whitner. I’d love to see Hancock get a shot but I don’t thinks there’s any chance McD starts him over Rapp. What are the chances that Damar Hamlin is the reason we aren’t looking to upgrade Safety? If we signed someone, who would be cut? My vote would be Damar….Hancock is young, athletic and under rookie contract. Cam Lewis isn’t going anywhere. Ingram might cut when Hairston and the DL returns. Does the FO want Damar on the team and in the locker room at the expense of upgrading the position? Give me Simmons.

Is Hawes in the process of surpassing Knox as TE2??
NewEra replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s a difference maker in the run game. I think he’ll go down as a top 5 Beane draft pick, maybe higher. He should be on the field almost every run play, only a few without him to keep the D honest. -
James Cook AFC Offensive Player of the Month (September 2025)!
NewEra replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s looked like the best RB in the league this year and I love to see him recognized like this. With a shout out to the OL. Eager to see how the run game does vs the Pats. They have a solid defense. Good front 7 and one of the better cornerback duos in the league. Hopefully we can take advantage of their safeties. Running backs and TE’s have done work against them this season. -
Where’s the juice at the position of Wide Receiver?
NewEra replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
which WR did you want to sign? Davante Adams made some sense but I don’t think that was ever in our cards. I would’ve liked him. Diggs and Kupp, no. Slayton next best and he’s on par with Palmer. Beane is totally fine spending a 1st and a 4th on Kincaid and using a 1st round pick to draft Keon Coleman. They spent almost 10M a year on a proven separator (exactly what everyone on the board asked for) in James Palmer. His time will come. He was never going to be a go to guy, that’s why he was paid 10m instead of 20-30. They are totally fine investing heavily in the offensive line and RB (2nd rd pick, 4th rd pick and now 12M aav) and making sure our lord and savior can survive the rigors of every season. They are totally fine spending to fix the defense that has kept us from winning a SB the last 5 years. We invested heavily on defense AND improved on offense- while starting of offseason with less cap room than any team in the league- while resigning 4 core draftees long term. Beane sucks -
And the defense will likely never get off the field unless the pass rush improves. I do think Hoecht will help in that capacity….but how much ? 🤷🏻♂️

If he continues to produce nothing, I think a 4th is very ambitious- more likely a pick swap with this point. I wouldn’t be upset at that. Good kid, but doesnt seem to make many plays on his own. Doesn’t look the same as last year. His career looks over with already. Trade a second for Hendrickson and a 5th- Championship. Get a 3rd return comp pick when he leaves after the season.

Not going to open the window for him this week. As expected imo

I agree, but mainly because I think Ed’s replacement is a bigger downgrade that Spencer Browns replacement. VanDermark was effective as a run blocker and that’s our bread and butter. He may be a liability as a pass blocker blocker but Josh will have to do Josh Allen things in the pocket. Ed can be a game wrecker that can kill drives. We’ll need him vs Maye in the pocket. He’s crafty

Reaffirms what my eyes told me. He’s not going to win every rep. No one does. He’s improving as a route runner 💯 where I’d like to see him do more of is to attack every pass like he owns it. Hopefully he’s studying some davante adams. He’s mastered the art of pushing off slightly without getting called. It’s SUCH a great skill and many huge plays are created because the WR pushes off subtly enough to win. I’d also like to see us throw more him more sideline back shoulder passes. That play uses his athleticism and size to its maximum. Let him use his body to shield the defender and throw it to the sideline. He made around 4-5 last season iirc, 2 vs Baltimore. It’s a pass I don’t see Josh throw very often. I wonder if they deem it as too turnover prone in general, I’d like us to throw more to the sideline. 2 plays before Kincaids TD, Kincaid had the fb pinned on the inside, creating a lane on the sideline allowing Kincaids body to act as a barrier to the db. But Josh threw it too far inside. I felt Josh did the same thing to Keon in the end zone vs Wiggins week 1. More loft and to the sideline and we had a decent shot at completing it imo. considering we have Coleman, Palmer, Kincaid, Knox, Hawes and shavers, I’d expect us to create some mismatches vs smaller defenders and that’s the perfect play

Sauce Gardner is crying, but does he have a point?

I feel like we get away with a lot more than we used to prior to 2020- especially in crunch time. maybe it’s because the weed is better now 🤷🏻♂️ -
[Question] Top 3 Players Currently In The NFL Who Deserve a SB Ring
NewEra replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taking QBs out of the choices, I’ll go with: Trent Williams, Myles Garrett and Derrick Henry. I had originally typed TJ Watt over Henry but had a change of heart QBs- Allen, Lamar, Burrow. -
While I’m not a fan of our D this year, I think we need to wait until November to truly have this conversation. I’m not sure if having McD call plays would necessarily benefit our team as whole. Luckily, Ryan Nielsen has experience and could step in for Babich. If we decided to make a move, I don’t think we would even fire Babich. I think we’d keep him on and hand over play calling to Nielsen, similar to what he he Jets did with Hackett last season (I know, I know). I think McD and the players like and respect Babich too much to can him outright mid season. I don’t think it was the same for Dorsey, even though the players said differently.

Come playoffs.
-
They were historically healthy last season. hopefully we can be historically healthy this season
-
I do every day. It’ll never get better than these next few years. No time to pout…. Until McDs D gives up 68 points and we lose by 1 in the Super Bowl.

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

If he catches it and we eventually won that game and made the SB, it would be advantage us. Keon has better stats plus a SB birth + Keon is an asset as run blocker. But as it stands, KC beat us and worthy played a big part in keeping us from the SB, so I can see how people would say they are currently winning the trade. They’ve achieved more. I’m anticipating Keon being a key part of something special that will get us a Lombardi I don’t think Keon is the same guy as he was last year in the playoffs and he’s likely to just get even better. Room to grow as a WR -

Can’t worry about that. Gotta do what’s best to improve your team. After 1 year, it’s worked out better for the chiefs because Kincaid dropped a pass. There are still years to be played and I have a feeling that the trade will work out significantly more for us in the end. Just like trading Mahomes will work out best for us long term. If we drafted Mahomes, we’d probably still be at zero SBs……and we wouldn’t have Josh Allen. Who will win us at least one SB before it’s said and done. Which is likely more than Mahomes would’ve gotten us 🍀 drafting Mahomes means we would’ve never drafted Josh Allen. That’s a bad trade for us as fans. -

And it won’t make it any more likely that it wouldn’t work out for us -

Ravens vs Chiefs Game thread (the Bills lamp is lit)
NewEra replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The talent on defense is massively underperforming compared to expectations. Roquon is considered elite. He’s been below average. Starks looks 2 seconds late to every play. Humphrey, considered very good, seems to be targeted at will and hasn’t risen to the occasion. Jaires body has decided it doesn’t want anymore. The entire DL is hurt. Van noy is out and the other pass rushers are inconsistent and somewhat invisible. That should fall on the defensive coordinator, but due to Harbaugh not having any playoff success with Lamar, it might be best to cut off the head at this point. -
I didn’t see that until now….. that’s absolutely insane
