I don’t think he’ll be “robbing” any snaps from either of them. If everyone stays healthy, I think he’ll get some snaps as a blocker and on some deep routes out of the same formations to keep the D honest. jmo. He’s a decent WR and the WRs at the bottom of our roster are barely that at the moment. I’ll be forever sad that we didn’t resign Mack. I think what he did last year as a blocker and WR was one of the most under appreciated roles I can remember.

I thought this was a given weeks ago when he was injured. Too skinny for what? To be an nfl cornerback?

You could do the same!!! Suit up!!

I think that’s kind of the point. It rarely ever comes back to bite teams because 2 Super Bowl contenders within the same conference rarely trade impact players to one another. -
One Thing No One Is Talking About Regarding Last Night's Game

Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?

All remain potential season ruiners imo -

We won’t have a clue until we’ve played some regular season games. Things that could develop into a problem: -Injuries- ruiner if certain players get hurt -Bishop- doesn’t look like he’s playing free, too much thinking, not enough reacting. -Tre White getting picked on- why throw at Benford when you don’t have to? I don’t think Benford will get much action this year. Especially on 3rd downs. - Defending screens- If we can get into the top 12 getting off the field on 3rd down, I think we’ll be in great shape. Big IF -

Preseason Week 2 Bills at Bears - Game thread
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Walker and Sanders look legit. I’m excited about both of these dudes. Andreeson looks like a liability in coverage. I wonder if shaq or Dorian would take Bernard’s spot if injured. Andreeson doesn’t look like it. our coverage has been an abomination tonight. Bishop was the rustiest I’ve ever seen a player. Good lord. -

Justin Simmons anyone? Bishop better stay healthy so he can learn during the easy 1st half of the schedule. Doesn’t look like he’s ready to start. -

I don’t know if it’s possible or not…. Is it possible for us to agree to new terms prior to the trade? Or do we have to have to be under the cap with his current cap hit before we rework a new deal? I don’t think a healthy Joey Bosa in 2025 is as good as a healthy Hendrickson in 2025. I think a 26 year old healthy Bosa was better…..but I don’t think his body will ever allow him to be THAT good ever again. I agree he was the big ticket at edge this offseason and can certainly be our best pass rusher. 🙏🏻 let the football gods keep him safe! -

It would be such a bengals move to trade him within the AFC. I could see the Pats making a move and the Bengals pulling the trigger because they aren’t “contenders”. Yet I highly doubt they would trade him to us. -

what was the reason to play important starters “before anymore”? -
Will Josh Allen Play Tmrw vs Bears
NewEra replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Could be. Prior to the league cutting back on preseason games, it always seemed to me that the game 2 weeks prior to the season was the game most teams played their starters the most snaps. Getting live reps against another nfl team + finalizing the final roster vs injury. Risk vs reward -

I think it would be beneficial to give him a drive this week and one or two next week. That said- I’d be happy if he doesn’t play at all -
I could definitely see the Texans sliding in. Their D is going to be legit this season. OL still needs work but they play in a crap division while Baltimore and KC both have tougher divaiinal games. Again, I do agree that the #1 seed is important …I see it as more so for the home field advantage
-
Except we don’t even know if the 1 seed would avoid both teams. The season hasn’t played out. The bills chiefs and ravens aren’t guaranteed the 1-3 seeds i agree, the one seed is the priority and very important….but we can still get the 1 seed and have to play both KC and Baltimore
-
Just wondering if you have any real insight about Braxton. jones or Darnell Wright and how they played last year? All of my Bears fans buds are pumped about both of them. They said their IOL was the problem last season. 🤷🏻♂️ myself. Didn’t watch much of them last year. both had pretty good off grades, if that means anything.

I thought my post was relatively easy going. Regarding the bolded, we have Christian to cover the top receivers on each team. We just need someone that can avoid getting get farmed and come up with a big play in the playoffs. Hairston has that ability imo. I agree that his build and penchant for injury gives reason to worry. That was my one gripe about the pick. Not talent and ability. He’s not a rail thin kid. He’s put a good build on himself since the college season ended. Bottom line- the jury is still out. Calling players busts in August of their rookie year is for amateurs imo -
I think the amount of talent at edge in this draft played a decent role in him falling to late 3. May still have been an early 3rd, but maybe late 2nd. 🤷🏻♂️
