I’m glad that we cut Ciarlo IF we only keep 5 LBers. If we keep Ulofoshio over him…. That would be a bummer. I’m hoping 5 LBers because that’s one of the ways we can keep 6 WRs

If Beane cuts Allen, that would be grounds for firing. I’m sure we could get at least a pick swap for him!

I was hoping for Andrew Booth, Kyler Gordon, Dax Hill, Christian Watson or George Pickens.. post draft- like most of my posts, I was in the lets wait and see how he progresses before handing in the verdict

Sorry you don’t remember. The TD vs Surtain and the TD vs KC in the regular season. He played a big role in the regular season win vs KC. He also had 2 other big 3rd down plays that I didn’t mention earlier because i don’t remember specifics. playmaking ability + taking on an additional 3.1M in dead cap are the main reasons to keep him. Unavailability due to injury is the only reason to cut him. I’d rather we keep 6 WRs and won’t have to cut Samuel, Moore or shavers, although I think Beane is probably working the phones trying to trade someone

You’re looking at a stat sheet talking and about making big plays…. yes- he made at least 3 big plays that I can remember. Sorry that your stat line doesn’t support that fact.

I could definitely see that happening too. I love codrington as a return guy, but I’d rather have shenault due to his ability as a pass catcher/ball carrier

He wasn’t beating out Tre…. lol. He got injured day 6 of training camp. The battle had barely begun and the vet was given the early nod due to knowing the system.

It really sucks that Samuel is always hurt, but considering the dead cap and the fact that he’s made big plays in huge games for us, I’d be pissed if we cut him. He can make plays in big moments. If we keep 5, I think trade Moore or shavers.

I know you want more. I do too. We deserve more (even though we’ve never played a down for the team- although I may feel like I have following several games). In the context of this conversation, I just can’t get behind the bengals accomplishing more than we have over the last 5 years- especially as a fan. Imagine not even making the playoffs 3 of 5 years?? Props to them for beating Reid and Mahomes in the playoffs. Props to Sam Hubbard for coming through recording back to back sacks on Mahomes on 2nd and goals from the 4. Grats on Von Bell for intercepting Mahomes in overtime. Neither are elite players. They just made plays when the team needed them most. It’s not all on McD for not “being able to beat” Reid and Beane not giving Josh a WR1 (which Beane did give him for 3.5 seasons). Reid and Spags are an all time great duo as play callers- paired with Mahomes, Kelce, Jones (and tyreek for a few), not many can match them. We could’ve won 3 of those playoff games if some players made a play. We’ve had opportunities and failed. It’s on the players just as it is on McD and Beane. I’m with you though, I want more. I want what KC has. Hell, I want what the Bears have. A Lombardi under their belt. Back to where this conversation started- I don’t want what the Bengals have.

Cmon man- You haven’t had fun watching the last 5 seasons? Being a fan IS more than just winning a Super Bowl. It may be the only thing your fixated on, but as fans, there’s so much more to it. Watching the games and experiencing the high and lows of each and every week is a blast. Allen is 76-34 as a starter. Joe Burrow is 38-30. The difference in wins between the two is equal to Burrows career win total….and Josh only has 4 more losses. The bengals haven’t won a SB yet either. Making the Super Bowl (and losing) one season while missing the playoffs entirely 3 of 5 seasons is nothing to brag about. Do you think the Bengals fans had wicked fun the 3 years they didn’t even make the playoffs? Great….they made the SB…. And lost. That’s what I call wicked fun. Ending the season with the same exact feeling as us. Close, but no cigar.
