Pull up what I said. I didn’t say he was going to be good. I didn’t predict that he would make the team. I said that, that you couldn’t possibly “know” whether or not he would make the team at this point in OTA’s. sherfiekd is much better. He’ll make the team and will get sporadic snaps. he can play all 3 wr positions Comparing Sherfield to Austin is a poop comparison. Comparing him to Kumerow makes more sense, but still weak

The only glaring hole when von Miller is injured, is the pass rush…… it’s not a hole when we are healthy. If Stefon Diggs gets hurt, our glaring hole will be WR. If Matt Milano get hurt, the only glaring weakness will be LB If tredavious white gets hurt, the only glaring weakness is CB. if Josh Allen get hurt, our only glaring weakness is QB. if James cook gets hurt, our only glaring weakness is RB. depth is a problem for every team. Replacing injured all pros isn’t easy. I feel your argument is weak. agree to disagree.

Gotcha. So he’s not this years Tavon Austin

We’ve heard. Thanks. wanna bet he makes the team? My 100 to your 50.

Andrew Norwell, about to be released by the commanders

No need. -
Time and time again…. When we didn’t have the roster we have now. When we had our current defensive roster on the field, our d was very good. Our pass rush was very good. We beat KC in KC with our pass rush being a key contributor. You should be talking about ONE playoff game. The playoff game with our current pass rushers. Not the playoff games with Jerry Hughes as our only good pass rusher. just need to stay healthy. We knew that when we signed Von. Didn’t happen last year. Hopefully it can happen this year. We have a solid rotation The bengals had 30 sacks last year . 4th worst in the league.
-
That’s fair. I guess I don’t understand why you would then compare him to Josh Allen. “What would we say if Josh didn’t show up to OTA’s and was instead seen with his girl in nyc”. We’d be shocked, because Josh is a different breed than Stef. He’s also the QB that has to build rapport and learn about his new playmakers. I don’t see how the two are comparable
-
He’s not Josh. He’s not the QB. He doesn’t have to mesh with anyone other than Josh. He’s proven that he and Josh are very well meshed. He is who he is. This is who he’s always been and this is who he will always be. the quicker you understand and accept that, the more level headed you will be with reacting to him antics. He ain’t changin.

Beane: “working on at least 2 veteran UFA’s”

Last season, we were injured. The year before, we didn’t have Von Miller. We played KC with Von and he closed them out, wrecking them in the 4th qtr. He obliterated their final 3 drives. KC and Cinci’s pass rushers were healthy. take Chris Jones off the KC D last year and they don’t win the SB. I’m not going to talk about the “playoffs” like they’re all the same. They aren’t. When’s the last time you saw von Miller play in the playoffs for the Bills?
-
Yeah, I watched us beat KC last season, with the same DL we have right now. Did you? I also watched us beat them with Jerry Hughes as our best pass rusher and a green Rousseau.
-
How many proven pass rushers do the bengals and chiefs have? sure, it would be nice…. But I don’t think “need” is the right word. What we need, is to stay healthier
-
Did you see his injury? It was a bad ankle roll and clearly hampered what he was doing out there. He played through it because he had too. Sorry you didn’t like the whiny look on his face. The kid was playing while in a lot of pain. In the last 2 playoffs Boston is 3-1 in game 7’s. They beat the defending champ bucks in 7. They beat Miami in 7. This year they beat Philly in 7. That’s toughness imo. They lacked a head coach and suffered the only injury that they couldn’t afford. I agree about Brown. They shouldn’t throw him 290M imo. Trade him. He’s great when he’s on. Not good enough of a facilitator to have an impact on O when he’s off. that said, I think they would’ve gotten smacked in 5 vs Denver. Spolestra will have a chance to show the world how good a coach he is (again). If he can find a way to slow Murray down, they might have a shot to win 2 games….. but I think they’ll get swept. Malone has that team rolling. I agree about the Bills. We’re good enough to win the SB as is. Just like we’ve been the last 2 years. I like what Beane did starting the offseason -20M in cap space.
-
I think they had the toughness. Tatum rolling his ankle 5 minutes into the game was too much to overcome. Jaylen Brown can’t dribble for s*** and he was forced to run the offense with Brogdon also hampered with injuries. Miami is one of the toughest teams in the league and may have the best coach in the league….. while Boston basically had an interim coach with zero experience. I really don’t think toughness is why Boston didn’t win. They won the same game last season.

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hear ya. I just don’t think it’s gonna happen that way. As in, going all in with a 1 year window. I think Beane has 2-3 years max if he doesn’t win a SB in that time. Same for McD. I see them as a package deal. The pressure is on, but I’m worried that last year really scared them. Huge investments with nothing to show for it. They assembled the best roster the world agreed. Then they broke. There’s a chance it happens again. I really hope we buck up for hopkins, I just think the Jets (or another team not named KC) are going to see this as their chance and bust their nut on him. Some 30M guaranteed over 2 years, 17M per season type deal. I think that’s too steep for Beane -
I’m just giving my opinion on the guy from what I’ve seen. I didn’t mention a ceiling. I think he’s going to be good, but not all pro. I didn’t say he couldn’t be all pro.

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I think we CAN beat them. It’s not something that anyone predict but it’s something that happened every year, usually to every team. Some more. Some less. KC had no injuries that year. It’s rare. I don’t know why everyone is so afraid of them. They’re good. But I’ve watched us play them the last 3 games. Did you? We played them great 3 games in a row. We’re better now than ever imo. Our OL is better. Our playmakers are better. We have some downhill grinder RB plays a big hitter. We have a stud d and now we have mcdermott calling plays think what you want. Be all sad and throw a tantrum if they get hopkins. I love our roster. I’m only worried about Dorsey, but I think he’ll be fine. -

When you say “if KC gets hopkins, it’s a wrap”. That is acting like injuries don’t exist. I didn’t read the rest. My time is too valuble -

NewEra replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t get me wrong, I really hope we can sign him. But I think the thought that going all in will net you a Super Bowl is bs. It can…. But what happens when someone gets hurt? Or multiple people get hurt? Or the opposing coaches in the playoffs devise the perfect game plans to beat you? talent is a big part of winning a Lombardi, but other aspects of the game can overrule talent. Injuries and coaching being the biggest aspects. those that are ok going all in for ONE season better be ready to put a gun to their head if some of those acquisitions get hurt. See Von and Daquan. Plus Hyde and Poyer and Tre and Damar. It’s extremely risky due to so many things possibly going wrong -

This is such a weak thought process. you act as if injuries aren’t part of the NFL. All it takes is a Chris Jones injury. A Kelce injury. A Mahomes injury. A Hopkins injury. An injury or 2 along the OL. Injuries to multiple starters. You know, like us last season. Last I knew, we’ve beaten the chiefs 2 out of 3 times in their house and are on anomaly away fro being 3-0. -
Awesome. Love this move. Not great, but a potential upgrade over Quess which puts more pressure on Brown.
