McDermott does have a personnel/scouting background that said usually GMs are the ones making final calls on adding people and it's a positive thing that GM and coach work together to build the roster.
With Dennison as OC our new offensive scheme will be WCO based. This will need bigger WRs that can run precise routes and move the chains. Also it counts on multi threat RB (remember Ricky Watters with the 49ers?) and TEs that can catch and FBs that can block/catch. The only thing we might lack is a zone blocking offensive line. I don't see us needing to make big changes for the offense to work except more depth at TE.
It was a solid draft. Yet it would have been nice to have a few more picks as not sure either of the LBs we drafted are starting material this year and felt we gave up too much for Dawkins even though I like him as a player.
The Bills have $38 million in cap space with 41 players on roster. I can't see why we wouldn't keep Sammy another year. I call this story bunk as Vic doesn't seem to be most reliable source these days.
Starting at the 4:46 minuite mark, "We'd been working on it the last 5 days" and he says "me and Doug been working on it". It's obvious Whaley's is doing his job as GM. Nothing wrong though that he gets his coach's input before making moves.
QB Nathan Peterman at #71 been my want for quite sometime. If we get someone like Zach Cunningham in Round 2 then be looking at WRs with the pick we got from the Chiefs and tops on my list is Amara Darboh of Michigan
The Patriots as odds are we won't be competing with them for the division so better they beat up on on another AFC Wild card contending team and of course improve the draft stock of the pick we acquired.
