  1. What happened to our third 5th Rounder? Our depth at TE is horrible. Nick O'leary at best is a third TE but as of today he'd be our primary backup.
  2. Whaley is good at finding LBs, I think taking one in Round 1 is foolish. Case in point in Round 2 we could likely get a Tyus Bowser who has a great deal of zone coverage experience and been a productive pass rusher the last two years and has good size/speed numbers. Personally I want one of the top two Safeties or Mike Williams or OJ Howard in Round 1 if we stay at #10. Preston Brown was a 3 down LB in Schwartz's scheme. Also McDermott plays a large percentage of nickel based defense so we only really need two LBs.
  3. If Reddick was another Bennett/Miller he wouldn't fall to pick 10.
  4. I was the right in a mock in the year we took Schobel and Jennings. Yet my biggest "hit" was when predicted we sign QB Travis Brown.
  5. Jones is the only one I like in this mock. Reddick might be a three down LB but to me we can find a speedy LB anywhere in the draft. Dobbs is an athletically gifted QB but isn't a great passer and that's why most have him as a 6th or 7th Round pick.
  6. Small school bias, he didn't do any offseason workouts. there are a few reasons he might "fall" yet still think he's in the top 2 WR discussion. I admit I favor Williams as he think gives us the Dez Bryant/Vincent Jackson type we've been looking for what seems like ages.
  7. Monos would be the next guy inline if we hire from within no doubt. Yet have a feeling if Whaley's let go they'll go completely new.
  8. and did they date the photo? As you do know sometimes sites use old images for stories.
  9. He's been my must draft guy since he declared. Yet after running a sub 4.4 in his pro day I don't think he'll fall to us.
  10. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ which supposedly includes our rookie pool states we have $10.5 million in cap room. If true I'd see if Gerald Hodges is still looking for work and maybe sign a veteran CB yet we can always wait until after June 1st if don't want to worry about any possible compensation picks.
  11. I like Peterman but rather trade down in Round 3 and add a 4 to hopefully add him yet wouldn't be against taking him Round 3 either.
  12. a.d when will he complete the AFC East tour and join the Jets?
  13. Fair but you also have to be smart enough to run an NFL offense, especially nowadays with defensive schemes hiding coverage more than in years past. It's a lot about processing information and also doing on the field. Book smarts will only take you so far if can't do it on the field. It's why it's so hard to evaluate guys in spread offenses etc because in college it's usually make one read and throw in the NFL you might have to make several reads and/or stay in the pocket despite perceived pressure etc.
  14. What are the holes on defense? CB and LB seem to be it yet think we can get quality guys at the positions outside Round 1. For instance if we stay at pick 10, I could see us going with Mike Williams WR in Round 1, Tyus Bowser LB in Round 2 and Rasul Douglas in Round 3.
  15. If we're dropping to past pick 16 or so then I'd much rather we get a 2nd this year back. Yet it's perceived value and if we could land a 1st and two 3rds I wouldn't be opposed to that either. Ultimately the draft is getting the best collection of players and this year seems to have a pretty good crop in the early rounds.
  16. Today's NFL is more complex than in the days of Kelly and Marino. I mean let's not forget Belichick developed the Giants defense that shut down Kelly (and the passing game) in Super Bowl XXV. In terms of the Wonderilic, it's debatable of how good it measures a QBs intelligence, personally I liked Nathan Peterman before hearing his score and guess being he scored high it helps with my narrative that he be a good QB but honestly only time will tell. Yet I like that he's a guy who had to find himself (left Tennessee for Pitt) and showed some intangibles in a pro style offense.
  17. Sounds like a backup in the box Safety. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/trae-elston?id=2556203
  18. What other free agent is out there now that could sign and use the cap savings we'd get by not retaining Gilly? I'm not sure there is one and being we have enough cap room (and few draft picks) we can afford to cap an over priced Gilly this year. I understand that it's foolish to put that much money into a backup RB but if looking at a complete roster it makes more sense especially since our alternative RBs are question marks.
  19. Considering we're paying Tyrod one of the lowest salaries for a starting QB we can afford to over pay our backup RB. Match it Whaley.
  20. I'd love it if Whaley waits until the last possible day to match the offer and in the interim Blount signs somewhere like Tampa or Green Bay for less money than the Patriots offered him..
