but Flutie didn't choke when he literally dropped the ball aka fumbled when the Dolphins playoff game was on the line or toss in he also threw a bad INT before half time that cost us points too.

It does because the offense was playing much better with RJ in the last two games he started, Flutie stepping in helped but it might be he stepped into a better situation than RJ started in the first two games. Yet I get it the only thing that counts is the win or loss not the way it was done. Again how many games did Flutie play in the USFL, NFL and CFL before he got here? I bet it was a lot more than ONE that RJ had.

Correction, the Bills were 1-3 when Flutie came in for an injured RJ against the Colts and if wasn't for a defensive collapse that Flutie failed to kill the clock in few minutes against the Rams we could have been 2-2. I love how the narrative of how bad we were before the magic man "saved our season". RJ did produce in 1998 after struggling in his first two games (or his second and third career NFL starts). Yet I know it doesn't fit the Flutie fan rewrite of history. The biggest issue is the 1998 version of Flutie wasn't the same one we saw in 1999, as either defenses caught up to him or maybe father time did or maybe a little bit of both. Either way RJ had youth on his side but I agree he took too many sacks and it prevented him from staying on the field and ultimately wasn't good enough for us. Yet the way Flutie was playing in 1999 he wasn't a long term answer either. Another thing that makes many of us hate Flutie is that his fans want to praise him for all his wins yet when he lost the shift of blame goes elsewhere, see the playoff loss against Miami people clamor Flutie was blindsided and had no chance to not fumble or Andre Reed taking the penalty cost us the game not Flutie yet if RJ loses a game like the Titans playoff game it's solely because RJ didn't produce enough points or took too many sacks etc.

If you look at his last 6 games of 1999 Flutie's offenses averaged close to 16 points a game, so to think Flutie would have done better than RJ is just hindsight and guessing. The reason for the Flutie hate is he was praised as the sole reason we were winning yet in reality again he was a caretaker and didn't offer an upside that RJ could have. Imagine if you will that the Bills drafted Josh Allen and then signed Josh McCown, would you want us starting McCown over Allen? Also the reports that the offense was worse under RJ is debatable, sure he took sacks but look at his last two games, the 1998 and 1999 finales. He put up 45 and 31 points respectively.

I think Drew's noticing as good as he is the Saints likely won't win a Super Bowl anytime soon so likely nothing more to play for.

Flutie won what? Plain and simple was a game manager in 1999. All he really did was divide a locker room and a fanbase. You realize we wasted two years with Flutie starting. If we kept RJ as starter in 1998 we might have cut him sooner and not been in cap hell due to paying them both starting money. Valid points on both.

I think Gore embraced the kid since he's coming from the school his kid playing at. Good for Devin and wish Frank to whatever next year brings him but prefer it not be as a RB with the Bills as he showed his age down the stretch.

I'm sure these guys were baited for these stories aka asked leading questions etc. So I'm not going to lose sleep over it, it does show how some of these players have big egos and might be why they weren't thought to be part of the process.

The question is are we going to be zone blocking or power blocking. It makes all the difference in the O-lineman you want, to me with us having bigger guys like Felciano and Spain I think we're more power based yet never really studied the Oline last season what we were running.

That's why stat analysis alone isn't a great measure of a QB. As if look at numbers Sam Darnold out played Josh. Yet if watch games it's obvious that Allen is a better playmaker and IMHO a better QB than Darnold.
