  1. Lol. So, we are already turning on Beane and McDermott? (and Tyrod and Boldin and God knows who else at this point) Maybe Boldin is just dead tired of playing football. He's 36! How many 36 year old wide receivers do you see in this league? The guy probably ground through a couple weeks of training camp, his body was beat down and wasn't responding, and he said enough is enough. Especially given the team wasn't going anywhere. Irrespective of this Boldin news, I love that Beane seems to recognize the need to rebuild and change the culture. It may or may not work, but we were heading nowhere fast by "staying the course." A Darnold, Allen or Rosen will set us up for longterm success. I believe Beane and McDermott have the resolve to see this through and finally get us on the right track for the next decade. Edit: Sammy needed to be traded. He was always injured and never would have re-signed here. It would have been complete folly to let him play out his contract and walk.
  2. At a minimum, Peterman looks like a guy who is going to stick in the league for awhile. Reads the defense and throws a nice ball. How did he fall all the way to the 5th round?
  3. I'm a UCLA guy, alum, and watch all of their games. Rosen has a great arm. Great accuracy. Just a fantastic thrower of the football. However, his decision making is suspect and he does tend to hold onto the ball too long. In his defense, UCLA's receiving corp has been pathetic during his time there and the offensive line is horrible as well. UCLA averaged something like 2.5 ypc last year. As for his record as a starter, let's remember that he started as a true freshman and only played 6 games his sophomore season. This, his true junior season, is when I would expect him to make the biggest leap. Also keep in mind that UCLA was an all-around bad team last year and went 3-3 with Rosen and 1-5 without him. Rosen was carrying the team until his injury. As for the off the field stuff, I don't have too much of a problem with the things Rosen has said in the media. He's a bright guy. My bigger concern is that there's rumors that he's stubborn and not the most coachable guy. And not the greatest locker room guy either. He's a high first round talent for sure and will be a starter at the NFL level. The question is will he be an Aaron Rodgers or will he be a Jeff George? I'm not sure about the answer to that one.
  4. Rice was ridiculous in his prime. Definitely Jerry for me.
  5. I would move both of these guys for pretty much anything we could get for them at this point. Neither is part of the future of this franchise.
  6. I love this trade! Sammy will struggle with his injured foot all season and rack up maybe 600 yards playing with Goff before walking to the highest bidder. We get another draft chip to angle for our future franchise QB. I'm neutral on the Darby deal, but I see the logic behind it. More than anything, I'm inspired that the new regime has the balls to make what would appear as an unpopular move in the short term for long term success.
  7. Yes and I like it. Darby was trending down and Watkins is made of glass and would have walked after the season. Short term pain for long term gain. These guys have vision and guts.
  8. NP seems to be a natural leader of men. I like Tyrod and hope he takes the next step this season, but I'm also eager to observe NP's development. I feel much better about our QB situation than I have in quite some time. If McDermott can transform the defense back into a formidable unit, we can be a real tough out for teams this year.
  9. Similar story here. My father, who always liked to leave early - even during tight games - insisted we stay to watch the "end of a great run" when my Mom and I wanted to leave after the pick six.
  10. Wow. Just an awful story. My heart hurts for the Heap family and any other family that has to endure these types of tragedies. Not sure how he will go on, but as a father myself, I know he will have to find a way given he has a wife and 4 other kids who need him present. If there is a god, may he bless this family and bring them peace in time.
  11. Alright. This move ensures that we should be competitive at minimum next season.
  12. I live in San Diego. Fluker sucked.
  13. San Diego is as good as gone. The owner doesn't want to be there and they are doing everything in their power to encourage the city government, residents, and fans to just give up and let them go. Kudos to Mayor Faulconer for at least putting up a fight.
  14. Lol. Guy is doing a statistical comparison between them when Taylor's thrown less than 40 NFL passes. Epitome of stupid.
  15. Yeah, I mean, why spend a 5th round pick on a guy and develop him in your system, when you can wait and use a 1st round pick on him in three years based on one good start in a meaningless end of season game in 2016?
  16. Fitz did nothing in that game. His TD pass was a five yard slant that Evans turned into a big play. We won because Sanchez threw 6 picks.
  17. I agree that Pete's a cheat too. Brought in the Ting brothers so their shady doctor dad could feed his entire roster steroids. Just go look at the laughable pictures of Cushing...lol. He also paid Reggie Bush's family among others. Who said cheaters never prosper?
  18. TY. The guy is there only to stir the pot and not really to report actual Bills news to the fans. I don't have any problem with Sully or his negativity, but I absolutely hate this smug Rodak kid.
  19. Would be hilarious if Orton claimed he was retiring just because he hated Marrone and now he comes back as our veteran caretaker qb for one more year. Wouldn't completely shock me.
  20. totally agree. these Rex fetish jokes have had one foot in the grave for some time, and now i'd go so far as to say they're six feet under.
  21. Holy hell, yes, I approve of the hire and I'm darn excited. First legit coach we've brought in since I started watching the Bills (1985). I truly believe he'll get this team to the playoffs in the next two years.
  22. No. We are right where we should be at .500. What games did we get "damn lucky" in? I guess Detroit with the missed field goals. Other than that? Minnesota? We played an ugly game, overcame 4 turnovers and made it happen in the 4th quarter. The rest were solid wins. The only other game that really felt like luck played a major role was the KC game, where a couple of fluke fumbles cost us a game we controlled. Also, we were never really blown out all year. That's not the sign of a 4 win team.
  23. Go get Scott Frost from Oregon as your OC. Let him install that up-tempo run-first offense. It would be a perfect fit for Buffalo winters and EJ Manuel.
  24. Can't really fault Marrone here. If you miss it, the Broncos are guaranteed 3 points and the game is over with 6 minutes to play. By punting it away, we actually still had some sort of puncher's chance at the end. It's a tough call and easy to second guess, but in this situation you can argue that it actually worked out about as well as you could have hoped.
  25. the announcers noted that Carpenter was 2 of 4 on onside kicks for his career. i didn't have a problem with it. i assume they've been practicing with Gay and they felt comfortable with his abilities.
