How is Skip Bayless employed as a sport analyst??
eball replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Skip is now 71. He's an old guy hanging on in a young man's world. He actually made his bones as a legitimate investigative sports reporter, winning many awards. His ship lost its rudder when he went full-time TV in the early 2000s. Now he's simply a "hot take for clicks" guy. Anyone who watches him for anything substantive is an idiot. -

I mean, it's working great that way in Houston, amirite?

Is 5 points for a defenseman any good? Asking for a friend…

NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL - Sunday Edition
eball replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d really like to see Detroit or Seattle make it in over Green Bay. Both of those teams had no expectations whatsoever (to the outside world) going into this season, and both have been feel-good stories this year. Unfortunately, if Seattle wins early in the day Detroit will have “nothing” to play for (besides keeping GB out). Still, I don’t think Campbell will let them play flat. Should be a fun afternoon. -
So, a lot has happened since I started this thread on Tuesday evening…and most of it extremely positive. Certainly the good news about Damar’s continuing recovery was a crucial piece to the Bills even beginning to think about the rest of the season and playoffs. My expectations are still tempered, though…now primarily because of the mounting defensive injuries. It seemed as though they might be able to overcome losing Miller, but now the secondary — once considered a strength — is looking more like a liability, particularly going up against high-powered passing offenses like Cinci and KC (and possibly even Miami). I think the Bills should get past NE***, and I’m not particularly worried about playing Baltimore or Jacksonville in Orchard Park, but in order to beat the “big boys” they’re probably going to have to win shootouts. I love having Josh in our corner, but it all may just be too much to ask. Let’s go and get this win today to claim the #2, and then see what happens. To me, it’s all gravy from here in this unprecedented season of turmoil. Go Bills!

NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL Saturday edition
eball replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not a huge fan of what the NFL did with regard to playoff seeding in light of the Bills-Bengals cancellation, but two things happening could make it all “ok” — a Raiders win and a Bills win. Let’s get the first half of that this afternoon. Go Raidahs!!! -
NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll

I'd expect no less from the likes of you... -
Might be enough against McCorkle. Won't be good enough in the playoffs.

There are several times per game my mouth probably drops open in amazement at his stick-handling in tight quarters.

His last few games UPL has been making the kind of saves this team has lacked since Ryan Miller left. If he has turned the corner and continues to gain confidence this season may turn out better than anyone expected.

Tage is a legit star. Unreal. And UPL starting to look like the real deal also.

There’s another thread that lists out what the community of Buffalo and the Bills have dealt with over the past year…it’s almost unbelievable the amount of tragedy, turmoil, and just plain bad luck that has befallen WNY and our favorite team — and none of it self-inflicted. The Bills have to feel mentally exhausted. They’ve had to overcome so much, and now this. I’m happy with their 3rd consecutive AFC East title and big wins in big moments. Josh is “the guy” and will be for years to come, but the defense has been decimated by key injuries all season and when combined with the mental fatigue and trauma, I think it is just too much to overcome going forward. I am proud of the team, the coaches, the fans, the community…proud to call myself a Buffalonian. Go Bills.
