  1. Ahh, yes, I think you're right. I take back anything complimentary I said about the Fish.
  2. Well, that changes things a bit. Color me surprised...but I'm actually pleased that Miami's doctors are FINALLY putting their players' health interests first.
  3. @Cynical -- maybe you're right. I hope not. I hope people realize that you just need to eliminate the argument from one or two schools per year who say they "should" have gotten in. But I'm probably naive. This year, there is no question that Alabama and Tennessee had legitimate arguments to be included. You know, there's a part of me that wants it to just go back to the polls...
  4. We did fine against Miami and KC this year already. Everyone assumes Cinci was going to score 40 on Monday night but the Bills' tendency on D has been to figure things out after the 1st quarter. Somebody can find the stat but the Bills are markedly better on D in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. Miami is in for a beating this Sunday, behind the woodshed style. Cinci will pose a challenge but we'll be at home and we'll make them be patient. Davis absolutely needs to get it together. He's in position to make plays and isn't trusting his hands; I'm betting he focuses and plays well. I like that Shakir got in on Sunday and made a big play over the middle. Smoke showed he has value. Knox is stepping up. The O will be fine.
  5. Not true. The problem in college football has always been that only a very small number of schools actually have a chance. First it was polling, now a "better" system but still only four have a chance. Expanding to eight teams makes it better. It's much less likely that a "deserving" team gets left out of an eight-team playoff. Really, we are typically only talking about one or two teams who get "screwed" out of the playoff in a given year -- certainly no more than four.
  6. Josh Allen is one of the NFL darlings.
  7. I don’t, but they went and beat Michigan…who I think everyone believes deserved to be there. So what are you going to do? There is no perfect answer until they expand the playoffs.
  8. Hopefully Troy Vincent burns for this...he's a douchebag.
  9. I think the whole design of this offense is based around what you have at the QB position. A play is called, and Josh has multiple options and decisions he can make. Dorsey absolutely "calls" the game, but Josh's intelligence and knowledge of the offense allows him to make adjustments on the fly. Those who oversimplify by saying Josh is "calling the game" are doing Dorsey a disservice.
  10. Is there anyone who believed the Big 12 was the equivalent of the SEC?
  11. The ONLY thing about Miami that evokes the slightest bit of concern is their speed at WR — Hill and Waddle. That’s it. Here’s the blueprint for the Bills: Crowd the middle of the field to take away the crossers that allow Hill and Waddle to accumulate RAC Don’t turn the ball over That’s it. If the Bills do those two things, Josh and the offense will put up 30+ and this game is a laugher.
  12. Good call.
  13. McNerd got the Fish to the same record as Flores after adding Tyreek Hill to the roster. I don’t think we can say he has “worked out” for Miami just yet.
  14. Skip is now 71. He's an old guy hanging on in a young man's world. He actually made his bones as a legitimate investigative sports reporter, winning many awards. His ship lost its rudder when he went full-time TV in the early 2000s. Now he's simply a "hot take for clicks" guy. Anyone who watches him for anything substantive is an idiot.
  15. Anybody thinking Tua isn't going to start for the Fish on Sunday is fooling himself. And I say bring it on.
  16. Squish. The. Fish. That is all. Go Bills!!! 17 and 3, BABYYYYYY!!!
  17. Yes, he is now on IR. No idea what the restrictions are (if any) on moving someone from IR to the active roster or PS during the playoffs.
  18. I mean, it's working great that way in Houston, amirite?
  19. Me too. I have a ticket in Buffalo, but I’ll go wherever it is…hoping somewhere like Atlanta.
  20. Can’t make it to this one, brother…but if the Bills can take care of business I’ll be there the following week.
  21. Is 5 points for a defenseman any good? Asking for a friend…
  22. I’d really like to see Detroit or Seattle make it in over Green Bay. Both of those teams had no expectations whatsoever (to the outside world) going into this season, and both have been feel-good stories this year. Unfortunately, if Seattle wins early in the day Detroit will have “nothing” to play for (besides keeping GB out). Still, I don’t think Campbell will let them play flat. Should be a fun afternoon.
  23. So, a lot has happened since I started this thread on Tuesday evening…and most of it extremely positive. Certainly the good news about Damar’s continuing recovery was a crucial piece to the Bills even beginning to think about the rest of the season and playoffs. My expectations are still tempered, though…now primarily because of the mounting defensive injuries. It seemed as though they might be able to overcome losing Miller, but now the secondary — once considered a strength — is looking more like a liability, particularly going up against high-powered passing offenses like Cinci and KC (and possibly even Miami). I think the Bills should get past NE***, and I’m not particularly worried about playing Baltimore or Jacksonville in Orchard Park, but in order to beat the “big boys” they’re probably going to have to win shootouts. I love having Josh in our corner, but it all may just be too much to ask. Let’s go and get this win today to claim the #2, and then see what happens. To me, it’s all gravy from here in this unprecedented season of turmoil. Go Bills!
