The big “obvious” concern in this game is the OL without Dawkins. How the Bills manage this is key but as always, they have he ultimate antidote — Josh Allen. I think with a full week of practice we see more involvement from Hines, and I’m confident the offense will continue to put up yards and points. To me the key is getting Edmunds and Rousseau back. With essentially a fully healthy defense similar to what we put on the field last year, I don’t see the Pats*** putting up a lot of points.

I dumped DTV and found a college student to let me buy the streaming ticket. Has worked out very well. Hopefully next year it goes to Apple, Google, or Amazon and DTV is done for good.

He’s an entertainer. If his brand of entertainment isn’t your cup of tea, so be it. I don’t think he lacks substance at all — he simply puts a lot of effort and enthusiasm into presenting that substance. Can’t we be a society that can say we don’t enjoy something without implying that anyone who does is an idiot?

I really expect to see a fired up, dialed-in Bills team on Thursday night. They know this is when the season truly begins.

While I enjoy watching the Cup, nothing compares to a Bills home game in primetime -- even if the US were playing in the Cup final. I think my Bills' fandom is greater than my US fandom. In fact, I know it is.

I didn’t read through this thread but I watched a bit of the Fish vs. the Texans yesterday. Tua threw several — not one or two — balls that could easily have been picked. He has an insane WR corps in Hill and Waddle that help to disguise his mediocre arm.

Looks like the whole D (minus Von) is back this week. Big. I'm expecting Dawkins not to play, but Morse is back. They will need to provide help on the L side.

It's so weird...Jackson looks like he is literally "right there" but for some reason doesn't get his head around or hands up to break up the play. Receivers are not getting "wide open" against him (that I have noticed) unless it is a pick play.

What the entire Bills organization went through over the past two weeks -- only two practices, snowstorm, moving a game, and then playing twice in five days -- has been significantly under-appreciated. What they accomplished was remarkable...it's one of several reasons I felt compelled to start the "coaching criticism" thread over the weekend.

Nope, it wasn’t. If you care about facts, I had already made my decision to give up season tickets when Rex was the coach. I had held them for 27 years, 24+ of them in North Carolina. Through the entire drought. There were many reasons why keeping the tickets made no sense, and watching the s-h-i-t-s-h-o-w with Rex Ryan was the proverbial last straw. I did more than most of you knuckleheads…I actually wrote a letter to the Pegulas telling them I was dropping my tickets and why. This was before Rex was fired. I didn’t “protest” the McD hiring or anything of the sort. But you go on blustering.

Of course not. It is insanity to make statements like “we’ll never win a SB with McD” and “Pegula needs to start looking for a new coach.” Both have been bandied about regularly on this forum. I also continue to ask the question of what McD has done or not done to evoke such rabid criticism. People say “no halftime adjustments” but that is both a cop-out and obviously not true. The adjustments just haven’t been working as well lately — likely for a number of reasons, most of which we as casual fans are not privy to. Give me specifics if you are going to criticize. Show me how the players are giving up, or obviously out of position, or making boatloads of mental mistakes — all of which would point directly to coaching.

I know, I know, it’s a message board and not everyone has to agree about everything. Debate and discussion are good. It just seems to me that the coaching of this team is being questioned at an insane level. The Bills are 8-3 and within 11 points of being undefeated. Every starter on defense has missed time; they have not played ONE game with their presumed starting secondary intact. Allen has a bum elbow. They got a total of TWO full practices in over the past two weeks and yet won two games in five days. They beat the Rams on the road (before we knew the Rams would stink). They crushed the Titans. They won at Baltimore in a gritty way. They won at KC. What the hell do people think McD should have been doing that he has not? I still hear “well, he’s not a good gameday coach.” Really? He is ranked as one of the best 4th down decision makers in the league. His time management has been stellar, saving timeouts for use at the ends of halves where the Bills have been excellent. Should he be calling plays? Is it Dorsey everyone is really upset about? Well, Dorse is also learning on the job, and maybe I’m naive but I think it has been hard to gameplan the past two weeks with only two practices. And yet, the offense is still putting up yards and points at very high levels. The last couple of weeks the running game has showed up as well. Summing up — I don’t get it. At all. And as far as I know, not one of you is in the locker room or on the practice field with this team. My conclusion is that there are a lot of keyboard warriors with way too much time on their hands who expect 14-point wins weekly. I would love to hear, specifically, what decisions some believe McD has made or not made that are responsible for the “predicament” we find ourselves in (tied for 1st). I’m going to continue to enjoy this ride, knowing my team is one of the best in the league and still has every opportunity to bring home the ultimate prize. I’m thrilled McD is our HC and Beane is our GM. Go Bills! 17 and 3, BABY!!!!
