  1. No shite! I've just started watching the NHL Network shows again. Loved seeing Barry Melrose in the studio saying "the Sabres are for real" after the Bruins game. He also said the Eichel-Skins-Reinhart line is "must see TV."
  2. Don't bet on him running much. Belichick will employ a defense designed to prevent the big runs, figuring he can bait Allen into bad throws. The key to this game will be Josh's recognition of coverage and making smart decisions.
  3. Boston sports: #1 -- Red Sox #2 -- Red Sox #3 -- Red Sox #4 -- Celtics #5 -- Bruins #6 -- Boston College #7 -- Northeastern #8 -- Patriots***
  4. I read that too. Great story, but the key will be whether Foster retains that work ethic now that he is experiencing success. Plenty of guys have worked to "get there" and then coasted...hope he learned a permanent lesson about what it takes to play in the NFL.
  5. You're going to have to try harder to convince us you're a Bills fan.
  6. Good point. Add the fact that his teammates and coaches have, quite literally, raved about his leadership and ability. Matt Patricia called Allen a "great" player in his postgame PC yesterday. The Bills fans who are also invested in being Allen detractors are just going to need to figure out what they are more interested in doing -- rooting for the Bills and an exciting young QB, or touting their pathetic pessimism on message boards. I continue to believe that if the internet had been around when Jim Kelly joined the Bills there would have been at least 20% of the fan base who would have wanted him benched.
  7. Actually 4-4 in games he started and finished. He left in the 3rd Q of the Houston game with the Bills trailing 10-3. The Bills scored a FG on the drive on which he was injured to make it 10-6, then we know what happened afterwards. QB wins and losses are solely based upon who started the game so it is what it is, but Allen had the Bills "in position" when he was hurt. All of that nonsense aside, when you look at the talent around him on offense for Allen to be essentially a .500 QB in his rookie season is impressive (to me). The "problem" with Josh Allen is that so many people are completely invested in him being a bust because they didn't like his "advanced stats" predictors that they will continue to look for the negatives until he wins an MVP or throws for 40 TDs with an 80% completion percentage. It's sad.
  8. I know. As I was doling out my stars for last night I then considered that Dahlin had two more points...unreal.
  9. You chose this as your first post? Really? Stat box critics are trash. Josh did everything we want out of a QB yesterday and threw maybe two bad passes all day.
  10. Yes. A couple of jaw-droppers. I don't know how the stars went but for me it was #3 - Skinner, #2 - Ullmark, #1 - Eichel Edit: I'll just add that I can't remember the last time I saw that the "backup" goalie was playing and it didn't matter to me. That's how good Linus has been.
  11. Easily Josh's best game as a passer in his early career. Was on the money all day long. If his receivers fight for the ball he has at least 2-3 more lengthy completions. Threw it away rather than risking INTs. I am very excited for the last two games of the season, but especially next year when the OL/receiver issues are addressed.
  12. This is the Eichel we all dreamed of having when we "lost" the McDavid sweepstakes. What a season he is having -- and he's only 22! Just dominated play again last night, and Ullmark was terrific. This team is a joy to watch, despite the harrowing finishes...
  13. McD showed me something by allowing Josh to throw the ball (big play to Croom) and then going for 4th to ice the win at the end. That was a big step forward in gameday coaching for McCoach, and shows he is starting to trust Josh.
  14. David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald said hi.
  15. Umm, yeah, thanks, I've only been watching college BB for about 35 years. The severity of these runs was unusual. 21-2 for UB, then 18-4 for SIU in the 1st half. Then 26-11 UB to start the 2nd half. That's not "normal."
  16. Very strange game. UB up big early, then SIU cuts it to five, then UB goes back up 19, then it gets down to single digits late. Still, they got the W. With Syracuse dropping a shocker to ODU today at home you know they'll be out for blood Tuesday. UB had better be ready.
  17. I mentioned this one in the favorite Christmas movie thread. Not sure I have a favorite story line...I think my least favorite is the Karl/Sarah one, simply because you want her to ignore her brother (whom she can't really help anyway) and think about herself for just 15 freaking minutes.
  18. Hughes = winner That game check (and partial suspension) for the ref hurt him far more than Hughes' fine.
  19. This pretty much describes me (sans the kids). I consider it a European lifestyle; a few drinks a day is "normal" and I rarely drink "to get drunk" or because I feel I "need it." I can't remember the last time my drinking had a negative impact on me or anyone around me. If some want to call me an alcoholic so be it; I won't deny it. I've thought about cutting back during the week but then I ask myself who would I be doing that for? i talk to my doctors and they don't seem to be interested in telling me to do anything different.
  20. Those were a couple of big wins this week...and nice to see some secondary scoring come forward as well. Would love to squeeze two points out of the weekend games at WAS and BOS.
  21. Little too much cushion for the pushin' with Milana...and 6.5? Maybe on an octal system.
