Way too early 2020 season expectations
eball replied to Jasovon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no reason to expect a backslide -- not with Josh having another offseason under his belt and a majority of key starters returning. Add in all of the draft picks and ability to do some things because of cap health, and the Bills should be a markedly better team next season. I thought 10 wins was possible this year and that proved to be true. We don't really know how our opponents will shape up as things change from year to year but I won't back down from 10 wins again. I believe the division title is certainly in play, as is a first round playoff bye and the first home playoff game in Buffalo in a LONG time. -

The Bills are in the best shape they've been in as an organization since the early 90s. Is there room to learn and grow? Of course. I'm very proud to be a fan of this franchise -- all of us who have stuck it out over the past 20 years are going to be rewarded. -

Usually the road trips are about getting in and getting out. This one will warrant a good 3-4 day escape.

I think it’s ridiculous not to vote Lamar All-Pro this season, but I believe what you’re seeing with Polian and Kirwan is a bias towards what they think is or is not “sustainable.” That shouldn’t come into play in a year-to-year vote but it has. A reasonable argument may be made that this season might be an anomaly — the NFL hasn’t seen an offense designed like this in some time (if ever) but if there’s one thing that happens in the NFL it is that offensive “fads” get figured out quickly. Lamar takes a lot of hits and it’s reasonable to suggest they will eventually take their toll. I would have voted Lamar All-Pro this season but I also think it may be the only time he reaches such heights. Everyone is going to be watching how the Ravens and Lamar perform in the playoffs...I don’t believe they’re as sure a bet as most seem to think.

NFL Attendance Hits a 15-Year Low

If I still lived in Buffalo I’d go to every game, but I’d admittedly spring for club seats. No interest in sitting out in the cold/rain/snow in November and December any more. I’m probably in the minority in hoping the Bills build some sort of dome (retractable or not) when they make the move to new digs. -

6:30 a.m. here in H-Town and I just can’t sleep any more. Had some great Tex-Mex last night with Mrs. eball and missed meeting up with some of TSW’s finest at the Bills Backers party, but planning to get out to the BB tailgate today and enjoy the most highly anticipated Bills game in 20 years! LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!- 451 replies

If ticket prices are really falling that bodes well for the Buffalo fan turnout. The locals aren't sold on their team. Let's take this house over! -

I was wondering whether the roof at the stadium will be open Saturday (forecast is 68 degrees and sunny) and came across an interesting tidbit -- the roof at NRG has not been open for a Texans game in more than FIVE years. A local news station "investigated" and seemed to arrive at a conclusion that the team believes a closed roof contributes to crowd noise and creates more of a home field advantage. The article I read (dated November 2019) lists the various NFL stadiums with retractable roofs and notes they are open a considerable amount of the time. Way to go, Texans. Get the taxpayers to pony up big time for a fancy retractable roof and then keep it closed because you don't think your crowd is loud enough. -

It's twofold -- money to bring in starting quality FAs and re-sign our own, plus the ability to increase depth across the board. Well done, Sean and Brandon! -

Hey man, it's just my opinion. I think anybody looking for genuine insight when a coach/player speaks to the media -- particularly in advance of a playoff game -- is a bit naive. And wow, you're giving me much more power than I ever presumed to have. I really "choked off" further commentary? Interesting. Enjoy the game, pal. -
If I'm McD/Frazier I have one thought going into this game: we will not let Hopkins beat us. However they get that done -- whether it's having Tre shadow him or making sure he's double covered all day -- I will be surprised if Hopkins has a big game.

Have you ever watched a Belichick press conference? Every team they play is unbelievably good in all facets of the game. This is coachspeak 101 -- don't give your opponents any reason to feel disrespected. I'm surprised you think the comments made by McD or Josh to the media reflect anything about the team's mindset. You've been analyzing these PCs far too much lately, in my opinion.
