Well, I know two people can see things differently, and that's cool. Tyrod is a "flashier" runner but I think Josh gets more out of his runs. Josh already has 17 rushing TDs in 27 starts...Tyrod has 16 in 46 starts! And you can't just discount the sneaks -- they are a huge part of keeping the chains moving. Tyrod clearly was a better deep thrower but Josh blows him away in the intermediate range.

Yeah, I don't see it. Tyrod never threw to anyone who wasn't clearly open; it was maddening to watch. I don't think their running styles are similar. Remember everyone literally begging Tyrod to use the middle of the field? Josh was awesome there. They are much, much different players in my opinion -- without looking at a single stat.

By the way, an analysis on FiveThirtyEight last season looked for all games that ESPN's win-probability model gave a 60-40 or narrower split at any point with five or fewer minutes remaining in regulation. There were 63 out of 256 such games, or just about 25%. So yeah, having a QB who knows how to lead a 4th quarter comeback isn't really that important. ?

Still waiting for someone to come here and honestly say that Josh Allen and Tyrod Taylor play the same way. Not that their stats were similar, or that their W-L records were similar, but that you think of them as similar QBs based upon what you are watching.

To say that Tyrod and Josh play the same type of game is really not accurate. You can look at stat sheets and compare numbers, but what do you see when you watch the games? These guys play nothing like each other. Can anyone tell me the last time Tyrod led a 4th quarter comeback?

I think a lot of people are too caught up in stat lines, rather than what they watch with their own eyes. JA's stats are what they are, and when compared across the league the yardage and completion percentage are poor. But as you point out, the dude was clutch when we needed him to be and I'll take a winner over a stats-builder (think Jeff George, Jay Cutler, Matt Stafford -- all QBs a lot of posters on here would probably drool over) every day of the week. Plays like the 4th down sneak against the Cowboys that completely swung momentum say more about JA than his per game passing yards -- at least to me. He has everything in place this year to do both, and that's why Im excited.

I'm curious to see just how much Jackson can improve his outside passing. That was his huge flaw last year, and the reason why teams with good defenses began to play them better. He claims he's been working on it. I guess if we say that Josh Allen can improve his deep ball, we should at least give Jackson the opportunity to show he can turn around a weakness also. And as you know, I'm somewhat of a Jackson skeptic -- but I'm trying to be evenhanded.

Pay attention, junior, we're talking about THIS season. The Bills added Diggs and two more WRs, and added Moss while subtracting Gore. The Pats*** lost the GOAT, Gronk, and their HOF OL coach.

Are people really worried about the Pats*** signing Newton? The Pats*** offense was dogschitt last year with Brady* -- the GOAT. Their weapons are arguably worse this year. The Bills will beat the Pats*** because they have the better team, top to bottom, and Cam Newton doesn't change that.

I never thought the 2004 team was “good” — in fact they were pretty brutal through the first nine games of the season. Bledsoe was essentially done, even though they had Moulds/Evans/McGahee. The defense was opportunistic but not a “shut ‘em down” unit. The six-game streak was dominant but they beat the Rams (8-8), Seahawks (9-7), Fish (4-12), Browns (4-12), Bengals (8-8), and 49ers (2-14) — not exactly Murderers’ Row. I’ll always give Mularkey credit for holding the team together when they were 3-6 (remember the cheeseburgers?) but I think last year’s squad beats that team 8 out of 10 times.

I have been a big "Josh was raw and he's just been learning to play the position his first two years" guy. That said, this season the excuses go away. He's gotten the coaching, he's gotten the reps, he has continuity, and he's got lots of weapons. I'm expecting >60% completions and 30+ passing TDs, to go along with another half dozen or so rushing scores. With his work ethic, talent, and mentality there is no reason to expect less.

If I'm overly sensitive about Josh Allen so be it, but I'm sick and tired of projections that basically presume he will hold the Bills back. Has there been a more polarizing QB prospect going into his third season who has performed as well as Josh has thus far? He's not doing it the prototypical way but aside from his completion percentage he looks and acts the part of a winner. I can not wait for this season to begin.

You're entitled to your opinion but it's not one that is based in sound logic as far as I'm concerned. All McD and the "coaching staff" have done is make the playoffs two out of three years while completely rebuilding the roster. Ask the experts around the league to name the best coaching staffs and I guarantee you the Bills are mentioned in the top ten if not top five. But to each his own.

The OP is nonsensical, but the Bills are a SB contender this year, period. The roster is deep and crazy stuff happens in the NFL each year. The real difference in expectations is whether you believe in Josh Allen or not. I do.
