I haven't felt this good about the "state of the Bills" since...
eball replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
@Chandler#81 and @Lurker -- just to be clear, again, I'm not comparing the rosters and/or accomplishments of the two teams (1990 and 2018) -- I'm comparing my feeling right now that the organization is in good shape to how I felt after that first Super Bowl loss. It's a calm, confident feeling that I don't think this management group (Pegula/Beane/McD) will screw things up and we are in line for many good years to come. -

I dunno, man, that's a pretty rough take. -
She's clearly not from Great Britain...look at those teeth! p.s. 18 stone is a LOAD!

...the beginning of the 1990 offseason (after the first SB loss). At that time we knew the team was outstanding and poised for continued success. Now, of course the current version of the Bills has not accomplished anything close to that team, but my confidence level going forward is the highest it has been since that time. Solid management in place, a really good HC who is universally respected, financial health (i.e., salary cap), a roster littered with young talent, and resources to improve even further. I don't see how anyone could look at the Bills' organization and not say the arrow is clearly pointing up. I don't even care about the mock drafts -- Beane & Co. have proven to me they know what they're looking for. If a player doesn't make it, it won't be because Beane didn't do his homework. This is a very comforting feeling to have. I can't possibly be alone in this sentiment?

Thank you.

I'll never forget that also happening to a TE against the Ravens in OT in Baltimore...circa 2010 or 2011...

I'm happy for Tua. That would have been a horrible way to lose a promising career.

Looks like the NFL is about to have the New CBA.
eball replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, I can't remember as seamless a transition to a new CBA in the NFL. Kudos to both sides for getting it done. Of course, all of the bags of cash coming in made it easier. -
Three times old, once new...they did a great job with the "renovation" (which was really a restoration of the original).

Blast from the past. Certainly remember going there as a kid.

Based upon this post, I’m guessing you find 99.9% of the people you come into contact with “total douches.” What a bizarre take.

I’ve been fortunate enough to play #2 four times and this advice is dead on. The greens are unreal and local advice is key.

No more Jerry Sullivan radio show (but now Podcast!)
eball replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahh, a podcast. Where guys not good enough to have a radio show go to broadcast their views into nothingness. Good luck with that, Jer... -
If a "modification" is done to protect a dog from injury, it makes sense. When it is done just to "preserve" someone's "ideal" version of a breed it's just stupid (and cruel). We adopted a Miniature Pinscher (no relation to the Doberman, by the way) at 6 weeks...she already had her tail docked (which bummed us out) but thankfully they didn't touch her ears. Her ears were floppy until one week one of them stood up, and within another week or two the other did the same. I think her ears look beautiful, and much better than the cropped version that seems so unnecessary. I often wonder what her natural tail wagging would have looked like. This is Kiwi. She's 15 years, 2 months, and nearly deaf, but still kicking. Still loves playing and driving us crazy. She's the second love of my life. She's also a genius -- no, really. She was one of the dogs featured on the Nat Geo Wild series "Is Your Dog a Genius" several years ago.

He was only 103? He looked at least 130... That's a hell of a long, good life.

Condolences to you and yours.

Always look forward to these.

No more Jerry Sullivan radio show (but now Podcast!)

Never saw that coming...Sullivan is such a dynamic personality. -
You see, here's the funny thing -- I look at that schedule and knowing what I know right now I don't see one "guaranteed" loss. Not one. That's what happens when your football team is solid and you expect to make improvements. The Bills are currently a top 10-15 team in the NFL, with the arrow pointing up, and that means there isn't a game they can't win. I'd go over for certain. 9 wins would be a disappointment next year.

Do us a favor, bub, and find another pastime so you don't have to bring yourself down on a Bills fan forum.

What Are We Going To Do for Backup QB Next Year?
eball replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, they can't. I like what Barkley has done for Josh as a teammate, but the Bills are in real trouble if Josh is out for a couple of games. Barkley simply can't make enough NFL throws. Backup QB is absolutely a position of need this offseason. -
Super Bowl III and the Baltimore Colts say hi.
