Romo as full time Brady apologist...
eball replied to Jamie Mueller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn’t watch the entire game but I did see the end and had to do a double-take when Romo said he expected to see those two teams back in Tampa for the SB. I mean, do we really think KC will make it back? -
No John Harbaugh? Come on man, putting Vrabel and Shanahan on that list right now is sort of silly. I didn’t read through this whole thread but in general the level of “concern” about McD is ridiculous. Now 35-26 in the regular season and has started beating winning teams as well. Yeah, yeah, he needs to do it in the playoffs but Bills fans are some of the silliest around. Better yet, McD is the first person to admit he needs to continue to evolve. I’ve taken a back seat and stayed out of this forum for the past couple of weeks and I’ll tell you, my level of enjoyment in watching the team has grown. Last Sunday was a perfect stage for an upset. What did the Bills do? They shut down Herbert’s deep passing game, were more than competent against the run, and pretty much controlled the entire game but for a 7-play totally weird stretch in the 4th quarter. They are one play from 9-2, they control their own destiny, and it looks like the D is coming back into form. When we stop worrying about winning and start worrying about margin of victory we’ve lost our way.

I just realized...the UB Bulls are at home against the Kent State Golden Flashes, and the Bills host the Chargers tomorrow. UB is running all over them. Hmm...
-
It does? Why? He'll be back for next season and has two years left on his rookie contract.
-
Yep, and Cody Ford out for the season. Morse starting at C Sunday.

Nah...common QB-speak. DCs often speak of wanting to make a QB see ghosts. Darnold just happened to be unlucky enough to be caught saying it on air.

Week 12 uniform watch 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙘.😍 #LACvsBUF

Too bad the Bolts are wearing monochrome navy blue this weekend. Great opportunity missed for a classic AFL matchup. They had white face masks last Thanksgiving to go along with their Smurf outfits against the Cowboys. -
This year in particular I’m so thankful for the Bills and NFL football. Hope everyone has a SAFE and SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE Thanksgiving. We really are all in this together.

ESPN puts another long time Host on waivers

Certainly the subject of one of the funnier SoortsCenter commercials... Hate to see this happen to anyone but I have to think he’ll be ok. -
Doesn’t matter, according to Kurt Warner he’s a hack who only has good stats because of easy throws. Doomed.

Biggest news on this report is Smoke still not practicing. That’s big. Norman’s last “injury” was COVID, hence that designation. This has, thus far, been a lost year for Dawson’s Creek.

I’ve liked Ty Dunne’s stuff, and the article is well written, but it left me feeling a bit depressed and uncertain of how much to believe. I don’t doubt the stuff about Pegula loving Mahomes and while there is a tinge of “what if” I’m glad Pegs let the football guys make the decisions. At the end of the day the article doesn’t paint McD in a good light at all, but how much of what two guys who got fired (Whaley and Monos) said are we really supposed to believe? I didn’t really like Warner before I read this article and I like him less after reading it. What a pompous know-it-all. I guess we can look back and enjoy the first four weeks of the season, knowing that Josh Allen can’t process defenses and was only taking advantage of “easy” situations. I should have stayed on my bye week.
-
I really hope it's white. The all red vs those dark blue could be painful to watch.
-
Not a “must win” but certainly a “definitely-should-win-unless-something-goes-terribly-wrong” kind of game. Herbert has been great but there’s a reason why they aren’t winning games. I think it’s coaching, for one.
-
But Flores is a brilliant coach! That Tua offense is BORING. Dude throws an insanely accurate 3-yard pass. Fitz playing is worse for us. That said...MUCK FIAMI!!!!

Don’t leave @ScottLaw out of this!

The bye week comes at a great time. They can stew for a bit over one that got away, but also realize they are still in the driver’s seat for the AFC East and #3 seed if they take care of business down the road. Their last six are the Bolts, Niners, Steelers, Broncos, Pats***, and Fish. I’m pushing for 5-1 but 4-2 should do it. They should be the favorites against everyone but the Steelers. Get healthy and do some internal auditing so that they can break some tendencies coming out of the bye. See y’all in a couple of weeks. I’m going on my bye week as well.

Looks like we're shorthanded tomorrow - Covid-19

So the guys without pulses just get the day off? That doesn’t seem fair. -
Another team angle related to Josh’s play...
eball replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you read? I said last year - as in 2019. -
It’s a metric based upon point differential so it makes sense. What the metric doesn’t factor is how the point differential is impacted by garbage time scores or close games that get away in the 4th quarter. It’s basically saying “if the point differential is close you’re probably winning some and losing some” so a 7-2 and 8-0 team with close differentials are “lucky.”

@MJS I don't disagree with you that situations should dictate the strategy. Again, my overall point is that with an offense that has shown itself to be explosive the options on defense are more varied than they have been before, and "playing not to lose" should never be the default.
