Does anyone think the Lamar Jackson situation this year was strange?
eball replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't be obtuse. The point is that "bone bruise" does not equal "minor injury." You starting a thread to question Lamar's toughness or desire to play wasn't the best use of your (or our) time. -
Jordan Poyer & Isaiah McKenzie Mic’d Up versus Patriots
eball replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Murphy sucks. On the first TD he says Josh “fires it” — what a moron. It’s a shame this is the best we can do for a PBP guy on the radio. Murph is a super nice guy and a terrible announcer. He does an awful job of “painting the picture” — the primary job of a radio guy. Oh well — if that’s the biggest criticism I can find about the Bills organization these days we are in pretty good shape. The video was awesome. This team is locked in. -

Umm, @FireChans, I had a bone bruise in my ankle (from playing football) and I wound up needing micro fracture surgery. This thread needs to be closed. -
She’s good; she does these every week. 👍

Why in the hell would it matter what KC fans think?
-
It would mean the Bills ended the careers of two of the greatest ever (Shula and BB) in humiliating fashion. I would enjoy that.

You said the Bills D will need to "take a lot of chances" and you are 100% wrong. That is not at all how the Bills defense plays; it's not how they played the Chefs in October and it won't be how they play them Sunday night.
-
Yeah, that's pretty much the opposite of what they need to do. That is a recipe for big plays by KC. It's not what the Bills D is about. Pittsburgh needed to take that philosophy because their D is nowhere near what it used to be. And they paid dearly, despite getting a couple of turnovers and a defensive TD.

Thanks for responding. Yes, that is my concern also, which is why I'm asking what folks think they will do.

Upon further review ... Spencer Brown is a BALLER
eball replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not talking about Brown, but about the performance of the OL in general. Last week you absolutely said they were still just "average." While Josh is obviously a part of this, not getting sacked four weeks in row is better than average, and Singletary's rushing numbers indicate a better than average OL. The bottom line is that this unit has absolutely come together and they are playing at a "playoff-worthy" level. -

The emergence of Brown and better-late-than-never insertion of Bates are the two keys to the OL's resurgence. Doyle isn't yet ready to be a "top 5" guy but his addition as the 6th OL has been significant as well. Nice to see things coming together for this OL at the right time. I think even @GunnerBill needs to start revisiting his stance that the line, even recently, has only been "average." -
If "real deal" = Andy Dalton 2.0, Jones has a chance.

Serious question for the X-and-O’ers on the forum…what’s your thinking regarding the Bills’ D and how they cope with all of KC’s speed this week? I believe Allen and our O will continue to perform at a high level because of the balance and versatility we’ve shown, but crazy stuff happens and I’d like to think we can get a somewhat comfortable lead — that will depend upon how well the D can slow KC down.

I think actually having our receivers healthy for this game will counteract much of the "mugging" that went on last year.

That place is too much of a headache to get in and out of (at least from NC), and the game being on Sunday night makes it a no-go for me. I'm planning on being in Nashville or Buffalo the following weekend, though.

If you have an Athletic subscription it's easy to find under the Bills heading. A link won't do you any good if you don't have a subscription.

For those who attended The Perfect Game live..
eball replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given the cold temps our group shifted to an indoor tailgate option, hanging out with some friends at their place in OP. It was a good idea. We got to a parking lot on Abbott by 7:15, and I was in the stadium before 7:45. I was in the club section and I'm sure that alone made this a super spreader event...still waiting to see if I managed to escape Omicron. Nobody inside the club was masked up, but I didn't expect them to be, either. My seat was near one of the overhead heaters and while it provided a little bit of relief it was still very cold. I'm an old pro at bundling for cold weather games so nothing on me was cold except my hands, whenever I removed my gloves. I drove up to the game from NC by myself and while I had friends at the game all around the stadium they did not have extra seats so I sat by myself. The group around me were awesome and by the middle of the 1st quarter we were already fast friends. I really didn't drink at all at the game, as I wanted to completely savor the moment. Couple of beers in the afternoon, then one hot chocolate and Skrewball at halftime. This was the third best home game experience of my lifetime, trailing only 51-3 and The Comeback. Given those games were 31 and 29 years ago, respectively, this felt particularly good. There have been other games with more drama, but 51-3 is the most similar because of the overall feeling of euphoria that came over the crowd by halftime. The 2nd half was one big coming out party. So glad I made the trip; it's one I would have absolutely regretted not making. Left OP at 7:30 on Sunday morning and lost about 90 minutes of time on bad roads in Virginia, but pulled into my driveway at 6:30 -- in time to watch the Dallas implosion live. -

Fixed for accuracy. Not only will they go to war for him...they don't want to disappoint him. That's the definition of "leader." Ass-hats grab facemasks and think they're exhibiting "leadership."

Damn. Go get it, boys.
