Hey, it’s the offseason, and since we now actually have a team it’s fun to root for it’s easier to look back at the drought era and reflect. Feel free to come in here and remind us all of your worst takes on the Bills during the drought years. What were you so sure of that was proven to be absolutely wrong? I’ll start. I’m a self-professed homer so even through the drought years I was always looking for the silver lining…but that’s what fans do. Here are a few I’m not particularly proud of: I wanted Rob Johnson to play over Flutie. I was excited when Marv was brought back as GM and thought he would right the ship. I didn’t think Russ Brandon was a tool. I blamed Overdorf for Ralph’s cheapness. I defended Chris Kelsay way more than he deserved. I loved the trade up to draft Sammy Watkins. I fooled myself into thinking Rex Ryan was a good hire. Those are the big ones. I’ve rooted for sub-par players but I think that’s just fandom. What say you?

The Bills are a perfect landing spot for Darnold once he is no longer being paid like a #2 overall draft pick. He and Josh are tight, and the Bills have established themselves as a place players come to get better. It just can’t happen this year.

And gets a 25 page thread in this forum because, gosh darn it, THIS might be when he finally makes it!

Rams - opening game of season Bills / Cowboys most likely
eball replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
As much as I hate it, I do understand the networks' love of the damn Cowboys and they are probably going to be the game on opening night. That said, if actual football people are making the decision the Bills are a no-brainer. -
Per Andrew Marchand (New York Post) Troy Aikman is ESPN bound for MNF

Buck may be the most arrogant, self-important prick of an announcer there has ever been. -

I even watched the Mannings for the Bills game. Light years better than the main crew. -
What year you became a Bills fan and Two Bills Drive camaraderie
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Birth (my dad, from Germany, moved to Buffalo and was an original season ticket holder). 2. OJ rushing for a 70+ yard TD at Miami in the mid-70s. 3. Before this January it was a tie between being at 51-3 and being at the Comeback. Now being at the “perfect game” against the Pats*** is right there. 4. I’ve always been a huge Andre Reed fan. Josh is my favorite now, and I can’t imagine him ever being supplanted. 5. Mine is a college nickname that just stuck. -
Well aren't you a breath of fresh air.

The Giants have a lot to look forward to then.

All the more reason to draft one in the first round, and get another one later as well.

When the Bills don't win the Super Bowl this year and it is proven that Siran Neal's 3M cap hit is the reason why, a lot of people are going to say "I told you so."

Rarely does one post so succinctly get literally everything wrong. Kudos to you sir.

I think all posters on this forum should strive to become the best versions of themselves...

Gotta get the papers, get the papers...

If Josh specifically planned to run the 40 at the combine like Cousin Mose, that is elite trolling.

Article - Six free agents Buffalo should target
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely on Fitz. I just don't like Berrios' game. Would much rather get WR fortification in the draft (or spend some real $$ on Kirk). Edit: or trade for Metcalf -
Still one of the most athletic players on the roster. I'm not giving up hope he can develop into a real contributor on defense.

No thank you on Berrios. -
Thanks for the reminder of that era…

Ahh, I remember the days of needing a QB desperately and reaching for one in a QB-poor draft. Good times.

I literally just stopped by to ask how much fun everyone was having.

Did you watch the whole Twitter clip? That's exactly the point; it was a mashup.

It wasn't a great contract to begin with, and then Covid turned it into a disaster. Oh well.
