  1. No, I think you miss my point. I'm not saying the Bills "got over" on Josh...I'm saying that when you're looking at a QB like Derek freaking Carr getting 40M per, Josh at an average of 47M for the next six years is a bargain. Derek Carr isn't in Josh's stratosphere.
  2. KC and Buffalo made out like BANDITS with their QB contracts...I almost feel sorry for these other teams with "kinda good" QBs they have to pay. Almost.
  3. Oh, your reaction is the one I'm most looking forward to!
  4. Oh for f**k sake. Now I’m even happier the Bengals lost.
  5. I think there’s a pretty successful book out that talks about good being the enemy of great. Not sure what it’s titled though.
  6. It’s going to be pretty hilarious around here when a competent OL coach makes Cody Ford look like a capable NFL guard. I’m not setting odds or anything but it wouldn’t shock me. Bobby Johnson was trash.
  7. I think it’s pretty clear at this point that Spain is/was not a process guy, which is odd, because the chip he carries on his shoulder (“Mr. Undrafted”) should make him the kind of guy who typically fits in well with the Bills’ culture. But no, it turns out he’s just a “me first” dude who can’t look at himself in the mirror.
  8. They already went a long way towards protecting Josh when they brought Beach Chairs back into the mix.
  9. Probably. Ralph is cheap.
  10. For all the crap Addison takes (Carolina pipeline, etc.) he was pretty productive last year. Good, thorough write up. I’m not a FA/Draft geek so I won’t be second-guessing the guys who get paid to do it. In Beane we trust.
  11. I think it just moved…
  12. Yeah, here’s the thing — I wouldn’t have fired him either. I just think the “legend” of Brian Flores the HC is overblown. His best coaching job by far was 2019, and he has regressed since. Still, he got them to winning records the last two seasons and it’s pretty unheard of to show a coach the door under those circumstances — which goes to show what a mess that organization is from top to bottom.
  13. The Larry David commercial was great if you like or “get” Larry David. Dr. Evil was a hit. After a second watch, I even liked the Rocket Mortgage Barbie ad. And I thought the Scarlett Johansson/Colin Jost Alexa stuff was really funny. Robot dog was cute. I don’t remember one single ad from last year’s Super Bowl, so for me this was an improvement. It’s not the golden age of TV ads any more, but there were a few good ones. As for the Super Bowl’s target market, it’s not the 18-30 set…it’s the middle-agers, 40s and 50s. I think this year they nailed it.
  14. There can be plenty of blame to go around and still come to the conclusion Flores isn’t “all that.” They beat one team with a winning record in 2020, and the disaster of their final win-and-you’re-in game vs. the Bills was telling. Then in 2021 their season was in the tank immediately…I’m not putting any stock in their “run to mediocrity” beating terrible teams. Again, they faced a huge test late against Tennessee and completely crapped themselves. Add the fact that Flores has been absolutely owned and embarrassed by a division rival (0-6 vs. Buffalo with a -110 point differential) and I’m still not buying it.
  15. While a lot of Flores ball-washing was going on around here regarding what an “awesome” job he was doing in Miami, I think I pretty much nailed it with my assessment at the time of how he was butchering the QB situation in 2020. It was insane the way he benched Fitz, then played Tua, then brought in Fitz as his “relief pitcher,” then went back to Tua. It was negligence bordering on incompetence in the midst of what could have been a playoff season. Now, it looks like there was a whole heluva lot that was going on behind the scenes in Miami, but at some point Flores has to take responsibility for his own actions as well. That said, Ross is clearly just another uber-rich prick in the old boys club that is NFL ownership who believes nothing and nobody can touch him.
  16. Actually, that’s exactly what it was.
  17. Seems as though this thread has diverged in two directions: A -- was the Super Bowl a good/compelling game B -- did the extra game and playoff team impact the quality of the playoffs As for A, it was pretty boring. Cinci was who we thought they were; a big play team with no offensive line, and a so-so defense with a nice pass rusher. The Rams kept them in it by giving up two big plays and their own lack of weapons after OBJ went down. 23 carries for 43 yards by the Rams. Riveting. The Bengals offense in the 2nd half was trash after they got away with the non-facemask on Higgins' TD. We got a nice made-for-TV dramatic finish that leaves everyone thinking it was a great game, but it wasn't. As for B, I think the jury is still out. First weekend of playoffs was full of blowouts. 2nd weekend was amazing. I don't think the teams were "gassed" I just think it's hard to win a Super Bowl. I still believe the Bills or Chiefs would have run the Rams out of the stadium.
  18. Defending champs vs. co-favorites for 2022 makes a lot of sense for the NFL, and the Cowboys just aren’t America’s Team any more.
  19. Death, taxes, and continued updates on what Chad freaking Kelly is doing.
  20. Go Detroit Rams!
  21. Josh isn’t going to be partying the week before the Super Bowl.
  22. I can't possibly love our QB any more. Buffalo deserves him and he deserves us. The parade will be epic.
  23. Don't know if it has been mentioned in the thread, but on the Howard and Jeremy podcast (WGR) they claim Farwell resigned shortly after the game. If true, yet another reason to respect the way McD runs things. No firing, no public announcement he wouldn't be back...let him go look for work elsewhere and then matter-of-factly announce the internal promotion after Farwell has his new job. Respect and dignity for all involved.
