  1. Fun game last night against one of the best in the league. I’m going to the game down here in NC Thursday night. Maybe I’ll eat some babies.
  2. Although Phil got caught saying some pretty dumb things, he's smart enough to know that his popularity is at an all-time low right now. Man, did he screw the pooch.
  3. I'll be back in three weeks and four days...I need some time to think about this.
  4. If we’re all being honest, I think the conversation about Whaley starts and ends here. He is a very good judge of talent, but horrible at the business side of football — which is what being a GM requires. Dude didn’t understand or learn how to manipulate the salary cap at all. Great example of the Peter Principle — being hired beyond his optimal capacity. I’ll take any of his opinions on the salary cap or what teams can or can’t do financially with a huge grain of salt.
  5. How do you know I’ve never met him? Jealousy is the wrong word. Did you not understand I’m a Carolina grad and fan? Why would I be jealous? Coack K has always been about Coach K. Ask anyone who has followed his career closely. I’ve never said he wasn’t a great coach, or that he didn’t build a great program. He’s among the top 5 NCAA coaches of all time. I simply don’t think he’s a “great” man. Anyway…proud of the Heels for somehow getting over the emotional win against Dook and giving Kansas everything they could handle. What a season.
  6. After the game Saturday night K still couldn't help but blame the players. In what I suppose he thought was a statement of caring and compassion, he still threw his team under the bus. "I had a locker room filled with guys who were crying," Krzyzewski said. "And it's a beautiful sight. It's not the sight that I would want. I'd want the other. But it's a sight that I really respect and makes me understand just how good this group was. And that's what I'm concerned -- I don't want any of these guys to leave and say, I should have made that one free throw; I should have made that one -- we win and we lose together." What a doosh.
  7. Had to give this a bump. What a Saturday night! For the rest of my life, whenever some Dook fan talks smack I’ve got the two greatest trump cards in the history of the rivalry — ruining K’s final game at Cameron, and knocking him out of the Final Four and into retirement. What a schmuck K was for taking that ridiculous “kiss the ring” retirement tour. K’s first loss as Dook coach was to Carolina, as were two of his last three. Across 42 years of coaching at Dook, during their greatest era, K was only .500 (50-50) vs. Carolina. See ya, Krzithead!!!
  8. They need goaltending. Everyone knows that. They won’t be contenders until they have a legitimate #1 between the pipes. That doesn’t change the obvious shift in both culture and talent on the ice, with more talent coming up next year. It is an exciting time to be a Sabres fan, watching this young team grow.
  9. Don’t stop me now, I’m on a roll…
  10. Umm…give them some time? Is FA over? Is the offseason over? Jesus Freaking Christ.
  11. I only watched from afar but what an amazing atmosphere, and then the team went out and backed it up. Time to end the ridiculous Pegula hate and embrace this team. What a great and deserving night for RJ.
  12. Yes. And me posting this on a site frequented primarily by people who either live in or are from the Buffalo area has been an interesting experiment. When I graduated from UNC and came back to Buffalo it struck me that college sports just aren’t very important to most Buffalonians. The local teams are largely inconsequential. If people are fans, it’s mostly college football and they follow Syracuse or Notre Dame. In college basketball it was the Big East. Church (who I knew nothing about until this story broke) didn’t even go to UNC. He’s just a NC native who grew up a Tar Heel fan, and he understands that Carolina and Duke in the Final Four is a monumental event. He’s refunding those who bought tickets to his show and anyone “complaining” about missing a country music concert should get a life.
  13. I think he was the last.
  14. I say yes. Two of the top four winningest programs in NCAA history, with the greatest rivalry in college basketball (if not all of sports).
  15. Eff that POS Kraft. I'm glad he has so much money to buy his women and friends because he's an a-hole and he'd be very lonely otherwise. And enough with the light blue shirts with the wide white collar and cuffs. The 80s are dead.
  16. Wow, I love what he said because I agree 100%! There is not a single game I watch because of who's announcing it, and there are definitely games I avoid (or mute) because of who's announcing. Kudos to someone who has made a very good living in that business for having the guts to say it.
  17. It's a good deal for the state. It will pass.
  18. I don't typically participate in rumor threads but I will say that Zig Fracassi is not a guy I've seen tweeting out baseless crap. That said, it's not as if he actually predicted anything. I think GMs are talking to each other a lot during the month leading up to the draft.
  19. Bowles still looks like a kid who just made a poopie in his pants.
  20. Geez, how’d you like to be a Saints fan these days? Payton retires and your QBs are “eat a W” and the Red Rifle — err, pop gun.
  21. With all due respect, this post makes no sense at all. OF COURSE if the Bills aren't there people would have to find other things to do, but it's not what anyone wants because the Bills have been there for more than 60 FREAKING YEARS. None of those other cities you mention know what they're missing. It's like saying, "I really love my wife, and I don't want her to leave, but if she does leave I guess I'd have to look for something else to spend my time on because look at all those other single people - they seem fine." Jesus.
  22. Oh, some of the responses in this thread are clueless. It's a good change, and yes, as long as there is a coin toss at the start of a game or the start of OT it will play a role in determining strategy, if not the outcome -- which is not the point. Lots of things can happen but giving each team a possession is the right thing to do.
  23. I’m still mad at my parents for that.
  24. I’m done with DirecTV; pulled the plug after last season. I need to find a way to get an “international” address and subscribe to this plan. What do they verify? If it’s just an IP address I can figure that one out.
