  1. Whaley is still wondering how in the world Diggs is still a Bill and wasn’t cut because there was no way Buffalo could afford to keep him.
  2. Every year the NFL opens with the defending SB champs against another high quality opponent. Every. Year. They don't simply throw any game out there because "the ratings will be strong no matter what." They want to start the season off with a bang, and a game that will get people talking. Bills/Rams checks every box.
  3. First of all, @corta765, thanks for all of the effort you put into this! For some reason I like schedule predictions a heluva lot more than mock drafts. I think the lustre is off the Pats*** after they were blown out in the playoffs and made no significant moves in FA -- plus they had a bizarre draft. They get two primetime games and that's it. Maybe the Bills are one of them, but I tend to believe the NFL doesn't want to put another potential blowout in that spot so my guess is that it's NE/Miami for one of their night games. The Bills are opening in LA on TNF. There are so many reasons to put this game there, and few not to. It's the Super Bowl everyone "wanted" to see, and could even be a preview of the next one. Aside from that, I have no clue.
  4. I haven’t read the whole thing yet but the Baltimore stuff was interesting. In a nutshell, execs opined that Baltimore gets the benefit of the doubt but this was an odd draft with who they selected (and didn’t select).
  5. Hardly. More likely, Cleveland is asking for too much. That will change.
  6. Funny stuff. I’m probably in the minority around here, but I actually like the post-NE Brady.
  7. With all due respect, Greg, that's no way to go through life. I've watched the 2nd half of that game several times just for the sheer magnificence of it. When they get to 13 seconds I turn off the video and think about how nice it is to have a superstar QB.
  8. Translation: we know these games are boring as f**k and we're trying to do something about it.
  9. Call me crazy, but how about titling the thread "QB Coach Joe Brady; what's his role with Josh?"
  10. T-minus 7 days and counting! I wonder what other early releases we’ll see over the next week. I do believe they’ll announce the opener before the 12th.
  11. Yup, and it’s such a bummer. You’d definitely think teams would prefer a backup QB doing it, because (a) they’re used to taking shotgun snaps and (b) you have more options to fake with a real thrower back there.
  12. First of all, thanks, OP, for compiling this list. It was not very long ago that I would pour over these UDFA signings hoping one or two would make the Bills roster and surprise everyone. Now, it’s just fun to see if I recognize anyone. I hope they get a chance somewhere, because it ain’t likely to be Buffalo. I suppose I agree with most of you that the guy with the best chance is probably the Aggie TE.
  13. I have found Pereira’s commentary on NFL games to be pretty insightful. Is it just me?
  14. Meh. The last thing I want to do is re-live the end of that game. They blew it because they feared the big play. On to this season.
  15. I think we need @corta765 in this thread, STAT, to explain the possible schedule permutations and ramifications of these game announcements.
  16. I often wonder why in the world veteran QBs make these statements. Exactly who is the intended audience? The guy was already drafted, they’re not going to “take it back.” Tannehill has never struck me as the brightest bulb anyway, but this is just stupid. Besides, all of the QBs on a team are together almost all of the time anyway — in meetings, practices, and they talk to each other during games. There is quite literally no reason to make these kinds of statements that only serve to make the veteran QB look like an ass. Tannehill — a guy who has already “won” in the game of the business of football, is too good to help a young teammate? What a moron.
  17. And I have repeatedly said the same. It’s Cody’s last chance. But if you don’t think the Teller situation is a factor in Beane wanting to give Cody a chance I think you’re naive. Beane hasn’t given Cody a 2nd contract; he hasn’t insisted he get playing time. Those are coaching decisions. Ford has also been hurt a lot. The odds are far greater that we’ve seen the last of Cody on a Bills’ regular season roster than otherwise. I also strongly disagree with your premise that Beane gave an “easy answer” on the Teller situation. He did the opposite — he went in depth on his thinking about what was happening at the time. He could have continued to say he made the right decision at the time but he didn’t — he said he wished he had been more patient. Beane has admitted other mistakes as well, such as botching the QB situation in Josh’s rookie year. BBB is a guy who checks all the boxes in terms of integrity, honesty, and accountability. He doesn’t pat himself on the back for his good decisions (he shares credit) and he accepts responsibility for his bad ones. And I’m sorry, looking at what the Bills were when he got here to what they are now, and understanding that being a GM is infinitely more complex than it was when Polian was around, I think he may already be the best GM we’ve ever had.
  18. This is a hugely inaccurate and out of touch assessment. ”Millions” aren’t going to be prevented from watching TNF. The market the NFL wants isn’t the market with a pair of rabbit ears atop their TV sets. If you were savvy enough to have satellite TV the concept of a streaming device probably isn’t foreign to you.
  19. Do you really think the line about it being ironic that they were in Vegas, the city of chance, and the only thing that can stop Josh Allen is the flip of a coin wasn’t funny? I consider myself to be a rather well-traveled connoisseur of comedy and Brandt knocked it out of the park. My wife groaned at me keeping the channel on the draft because I was waiting for the Bills’ 3rd round pick. Afterwards she said, “I’d watch the draft if all of the picks were that cool.” But hey, to each his/her own.
  20. If the Bengals are worried about getting respect instead of worrying about getting better they’re going to get their asses kicked.
  21. First of all, thanks for the great post, but this paragraph should be required reading for everyone wanting to kick Cody Ford to the curb. I agree that Beane being willing to own up to the Teller mistake says a lot about his integrity, honesty, and lack of ego. I laugh inwardly every time I read a post about how Beane will keep draft picks who shouldn’t be on the team only because he doesn’t want to admit he was wrong.
  22. Bobby Johnson is begging the Giants to sign him as we speak…
