I’m gonna have to say yes. 8 years, 5000 yards, 34 TDs…for a #4 pick overall. One 1000 yard season. His best two years were actually his rookie and 2nd season with Buffalo. By far, his moment of glory was his postseason with KC the year they won the SB, but it’s not enough. B-b-b-b-b-b-bust.

Edited for accuracy.

Perfect answer from Josh would be, “sounds to me like an awful big waste of money.”

What is your favorite football related phrase?

“Look it up, Thurman.” ”When it’s too tough for them, it’s just right for us.” ”Where else would you rather be than right here, right now.” Marv was marvelous with the turn of a phrase. -

Anybody who thinks the Bills are trading UP in the first round of this draft for a CB just hasn't paid very much attention to the Brandon Beane team-building process.

In recent years they've pushed it back to after the draft. Gotta keep the NFL news fresh and releasing it now dulls the draft buzz. Expect it in early-mid May. -
I read an article this morning about some of the rules changes the USFL is putting into play: Allowing two forward passes behind the line of scrimmage. When a team scores a touchdown, it has three options: add an extra point with a 15-yard field goal, two points for a play from the 2-yard line that crosses the goal line and three points of a play from the 10-yard line that crosses the goal line. A team trying to stage a comeback late will have two options after scoring a touchdown: A conventional onside kick or converting a fourth-and-12 play on its 33 yard line. Kickoffs will be done from the 25-yard line. When The Spring League used that rule, 95% of kickoffs were returned. If a game goes to overtime, each team gets three tries to score on a play from the 2-yard line, with two points awarded for each successful try. If there is a tie after three rounds, an additional round is added until a winner prevails. A microchip in the ball will determine down and distance and whether a play produces a first down. The “rule” that interests me the most is the last one, which in this day and age seems like a no-brainer. A chip should also determine whether a TD is scored. I’ll be curious to watch that one. I think the two forward passes, PAT, and OT rules are silly. The onside kick option is intriguing. Thoughts?

Seriously. Dahlin, Power, Joker, Samuelsson…and Bryson and Fitzy have potential as well. Amazing talent, youth, and depth. But goaltending will continue to limit how far this team can go. Really need UPL to take the next step next season.

RIP. Funny, funny guy.

This Dan Snyder is one heluva guy. Taping cheerleaders undressing, cheating his season ticket holders, and stealing from other league owners.

I go by the averages. They’ll all underperform. But I’m counting on the Bills to draft Hingle McCringleberry at some point in this draft.

Ok, I know I said I wouldn’t post in here any more, but I found this site interesting. It’s a ranking of 181 1st round mock drafts from last year (and you can go back as far as 2018) using a pretty intricate grading system that is extremely lenient towards the “mocker.” It awards a range of points in four categories, resulting in a total of 320 possible points. Using a point system that rewards “being close” the best mocker last year still scored only 207 (65%) and there were just three guys who broke 200. #181 scored 114. The average was 152.6 and the median was 151; both under 50%. “Star” mocker McShay was at least above average with 168; Kiper was at 153. John Clayton (RIP) scored 129; a solid tie for 159th place. Of the four years of rankings available, 2021 was the most successful overall for the mockers. @GunnerBill I’d love to see you go back and score your draft using this methodology. I respect all of the scouting work you do and I’m curious. Anyway, I know I’m not changing anyone’s mind and this phenomenon will continue, but I’m happy I’ve now found some actual evidence of what a futile exercise it appears to be.

A simple call to the ticket office should clear it up.

And that's where we disagree. I think Belichick can take just about any mid-level QB and get that performance out of him with his dink and dunk system if he's got a strong defense and running game. Calling Jones a "difference-maker" is hilarious; in extreme conditions he wasn't even allowed to play the position. Only three QBs who started all 17 games last season threw for fewer yards than Jones. Only three threw fewer TDs. He is a "middle of the pack" QB in just about every aspect of the game, which is fine. He can have a nice little NFL career. Gotta dream bigger with a 1st round QB.

I think you owe Mr. Durant an apology. -
Define "led." Are you really suggesting the Pats*** won games last year because of Mac Jones' play? I think most outside observers would say the Pats*** made it to the playoffs behind a stellar defense and running game. Was he serviceable? Sure. He put up a decent rating with his dinks and dunks, but from what I witnessed he didn't ever put the team on his back.
