  1. Oh well... They covered up spygate to protect Kraft and Belichick. Call it even.
  2. Just seems to be a hair late on his pocket movement. If you want to drive the ball down the field consistently you need to effectively create time and space behind the LOS. 8.9% sack rate isn't crazy Rob Johnson high, but its high. Higher than either of Allen's first 2 years, or Tyrod's first 2 years with Buffalo. Higher than a lot of Russell Wilsons seasons, and higher than 3 out of 4 seasons that Watson had. Wilson/Watson also had some pretty trash lines at times too.
  3. It's not like it was man coverage on the boundary though. It's probably cover 4 or something like that when facing an empty set. If he doesn't hold there the safety is already coming up to hit kupp before the end zone. If its lead too far that safety can challenge the catch point, pick it off, or hit him hard to force an incompletion. The hold was unnecessary in that zone look. The underneath defender took the RB check down. The outside leverage guy took the over the top route knowing the safety is there inside, and the safety bolted for kupp as soon as the checkdown gets covered. I'm not sure its a completion even without the hold.
  4. If Kupp goes behind him he's in the passing lane. Kupp went in front and is therefore short of the end zone. No penalty and its 4th and goal from like the 2 and a half yard line.
  5. Cover Kelce in the last 10 seconds... obviously.
  6. I agree its a need - and CBs are some of the most important players on a good defense in this era. But I would like to see it not be in the 1st - unless thats where the value is. I like to look for someone who is a potential star/all-pro if you're picking late in the first.
  7. Don't hold at critical moments of the game. When Kupp can't get away from a middle linebacker... there's likely something going on there. Downfield underthrown passes are so difficult to defend you could probably call a penalty on either team on like every one.
  8. Poor execution of a play call doesn't make the call bad. If he doesn't hold him there its 4th and goal from like the 2.
  9. Why? Zone on 3rd and goal from the 8? I would call zone there 10 times out of 10.
  10. Flag came from the back judge, and as kupp pushes into his route 55 extends his left arm into the front of Kupps jersey while also putting his right arm on Kupps hip and holds him up. A lot of contact about 6 yards down the field and you didn't let him run his route.
  11. I could see Jameson williams if only because the knee injury might make him drop. If you think you are getting someone who would be top 10 in another draft at 25, that's the kind of move you make. Buffalo has gotten pretty solid play from... EJ Gaines, UDFA Levi Wallace, 7th rounder dane jackson, and UDFA Cam Lewis. You have all-pro caliber play at one DB who was a 1st, and a top paid player. The Nickel is a really good player in Taron Johnson. I think you can improve upon CB2, but I don't know that i need 2 1st round picks there when we literally have 1 1st round pick dedicated to the entire offense (2 if you count diggs).
  12. These weren't phantom calls/no-calls though. You interrupted a route to kupp, and the PI in the end zone was pretty textbook in that he got there early and was playing the player not the ball.
  13. He did hold.. And Apple did interfere... Bengals fans complaining how they let them play to that point and why call it now? Because its a penalty. Yeah stafford had a few misfires, the OBJ injury was another pretty lousy throw. The WR on the 2nd one couldve put in a better effort, he didnt even extend his right hand to try and catch it. It was also probably thrown way too hard. Burrow had the nice throw to Chase... and the bomb to higgins with the questionable no-call. Other than that he was 20/31 for 142 yards, with 7 sacks for 43 yards and 2 rushes for 3 yards. So assuming all of that... on the remaining 40 pass plays they gained 102 yards. There's a "big play" offense, and theres an inefficient offense.
  14. Its zone coverage... its not as if they had a guy in man coverage who can hang with Kupp, let alone OBJ.
  15. He's very well thought of by everyone in that building. I guarantee he's more involved in running and designing the offense than people think.
  16. You're probably not wrong - but the cap goes up... like every year. So the AAV needs to reflect that increase in the deal. Murray is still a good player - probably the best one on the cardinals. Its easy to look at the last game and be like... don't pay this guy, he absolutely blew it in the playoffs. You could also tell he wasn't right after the injury though. I think he can potentially be like Mahomes-Lite, so I'd probably keep him around. If you trade him and he ends up winning a super bowl in Pittsburgh or Carolina or something you're going to look foolish.
  17. I think it depends who the WR is. I'm not giving someone 10-12M AAV, to just end up using davis/diggs for the majority of outside snaps. I suppose diggs could flex inside more, but Bease is still likely to play.
  18. I'd probably just go BPA. It won't be a QB, a S, or from the looks of it a pass rusher. So if its a lineman, or WR, or CB, or whatever. The goal should be to find a star player in that spot. Like i doubt he makes it to us - but Jordan Davis would be a game changer for the defense. Basically helps all of your pass rushers by adding an insanely strong athletic 1T. Jameson Williams would be a good fit as he gets to come along at his own pace.
  19. He can get more on the open market than that. Tannehill got 29.5M... in 2020 on a lower cap. Wilson got 35M AAV in 2019. Watson got 39M AAV in 2020. Also cousins contract was 2yr 66M fully guaranteed in 2021 after 3yr 84M in 2018. You'd be asking Murray to sign for less than Cousins did in 2020.
  20. I mean "less salary" 3yr 84M in 2018, and 2yr 66M for 21-22 - all guaranteed. So i would assume that starts negotiations at 30M per year. His cap hit for this year is 45M. If you tried to trade him the team acquiring has to pay 35M in salary.
  21. I know the mocks are picking CBs or WRs in the first... but i think if there's a solid guard/center prospect there it could be the pick. Bates played pretty well at LG, but i think the line could still use some more young talent. Morse and Williams are about to be 30 - one with a history of concussions, the other with a history of knee problems. Both are solid in pass pro, morse is athletic, and williams has position flex. But neither is cheap, and neither is a tremendous impact player. I also know we've struggled with pass pro against certain opponents, and it cost them games - Jax, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Tampa etc. And adding some beef might help get everything going for the run game throughout the year as well, especially in the red zone. You wanna play soft zone in the red zone? Fine - Hammer them.
  22. This too - you can split some of it into 2023.
  23. It's one of those things - are you better without him. The cap savings won't get you a full replacement, but if you're using other cap to bring in a starter/phillips anyway, and you want to draft someone then its probably worth moving on simply to give the snaps to other players.
  24. He was their project behind olsen. That team also used CMC for a ton of targets. Then last year they had anderson, moore, samuel get the majority of targets. This season anderson/moore had like 270 targets. I'm not sure if he's good or bad, but its a position that had like no role in their offense. When he came out i know the knocks were that he was raw but i seem to remember him having upside as a blocker.
