Of course they're independent events but you are the one comparing them. You brought up Sammy but are comparing him to signing a team. Which to me are not necessarily fair to compare.
Your valuation of Sammy and his "reliability" is unfair when you don't account for Maclin's reliability due to injury. Why don't you mention that Maclin has only played in 43 of his last 64 games?
Yeah yeah yeah, you love the team and all you want is to win a championship. So you'll just be miserable and try and bring as many with you until they do.
Then ask to live as long as it takes to get one.
Why would a corner back care that his QB is treated well by the head coach? Because Sherman can't stand not having the glory put on him. He'll say it's defense vs offense but he's the kind of person that would bring on that division. This is about jealousy.
If you're stupid enough to not understand QB's are/have been treated different for decades and at every level - then Harvard smart can no longer be used to describe you.
I think Darby has the talent but we see what he can look like with a pass rush and without one. It really starts with the rush. If there's no pressure being put on the QB it's a long day for a DB. I think Darby will be fine and return to being a good player.
You view yourself as "cautious"? I think some self awareness is in order.
What exactly would you be avoiding by being cautious that makes you somehow superior?
I largely agree except about his public speaking polish. When there's nothing good to say it's difficult to articulate that in a way your audience will buy into. He knew no more talk would do it and it made him look bad. He then just went to work - but it wasn't enough.
It's kind of like saying a salesman just doesn't have the skills to sell - until you realize he's selling encyclopedias door to door.
It's an interesting take, I'll give you that. I've got to doubt fans making their minds up to not put up with excuses is the real cause for major change.
