Nice Holmes news per Rumblings

Except ScottLaw - who somehow thinks we should give no attention to such reports - yet somehow he has the right to. -

There's been plenty of players that have also then gone on to look good through the season and had good careers with these type of reports. Don't make an even bigger fool of yourself. -

I know, right? I mean there's guys on here reading threads about a WR who's looking good and posts over 6,700 times on a Bills board about crap like this. Amazing! -
What was the offer we made he rejected or did he just not want to meet with us at all because of Taylor? What QB did Decker go to the Jets to play with?

Hodges or Humber? Who will be Starting Will?
White Linen replied to MooseTooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I've got to think Hodges has an edge just because of being younger with more starts - which indicates he's more physically talented. He's also 3" taller - that would allow him to do more than a 5'11" Humber. However, I agree with the other posters that what they do on the field will ultimately be how they win the job. -

Sammy is 6'4"? Or is that another myth?

Turnover on this team is staggering.

Which coach should they have kept longer so they could keep more of the same players? Ridiculous how you have absolutely no control over your negativity. -
St. Doug Laying the Groundwork
White Linen replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see it. On his side of the ball, IMO, it was some of the worst offensive game planning I've seen in our drought. He had a defense offensive coaches dream about and did squat with it. The Jags defense won't touch the 2014 Buffalo Bills. Maybe the 2013 Bills but then Doug is screwed. -

We can keep going around in a circle if you'd like but you're not going to convince me he isn't dedicated to football. You want me to concede that point for failing a conditioning test in which he then had his best year? Not happening, ever. But if that failed test means more to you than how he plays on the field then enjoy yourself. -

You mean in 2014, when he had 10 sacks as a tackle? When they were the 4th ranked defense. The year he earned an enormous contract extension. No that failed BS conditioning test meant nothing to me or my eyes. Anymore questions? -

I'm going to try one more time to get a very simple point through your negative thinking. We've all said his off field actions have not been good. You questioned his effort - which we all understand you're trying to create a parallel between off field decisions and his dedication to football. It's not there. He's a dominant football player on the field. We then draw a conclusion that he must be dedicated to being a good football player in terms of putting in the work. You think he's an out of shape loser (whom you don't want to get rid of) and because football is so easy for him is just good at less than ideal effort. A theory of which you have absolutely no proof other than referring to his off field personal decisions. There's no tangible evidence that he doesn't work hard at football, none. For example: Let's just say he was out drag racing and then he was late for a meeting. Then he dominates in the next game. My take - I think he's a heck of a football player, with tons of talent, works hard at it and loves to play. He's an idiot because he makes such stupid decisions. I just wish he would get his life in order so I can just enjoy his game and he could live a long prosperous life. Your take - He played well because it's easy - he said so himself. There's no way he could be working hard on his game if he's making all these bad decisions. He's not a leader and is immature but I've never wanted him off the team - I just hope we can get one more percent of effort from him. -

He did not fail his conditioning test in 2015. You're flat wrong about that. 2015 is also when he got his extension and deservedly so. It was goofy fans like you that said he looked out of shape. All kinds of athletes pull their hamstring that are in supreme conditioning and it's just flat laziness for you to pretend you know that was the reason. You won't leave the discussion there because your negativity overwhelms you. You think he doesn't play at his full potential. Some believe despite his off the field issues, he comes to play. Let's discuss, right? No you put together fictitious statements trying to link the two. If Rex didn't screw around with this phenomenal defense - he'd be the same maniac on the field he has been, IMO. -

Absolutely. His first four years this young man was an absolute menace. In 2015 the entire defensive team failed under Rex - especially against the run but Kyle was out too. Last year was a mess for Dareus off the field, obviously. When he returned he played reasonably well for someone out that long - even though the defense as a whole was not good. I blame Rex for that. FF to this year and Dareus is welcoming the discipline McDermott and Waufle offer. Nothing wrong with just words at this point. -

I don't think I'm missing the point. We agree on the off field stuff - 100%. I'm just saying that when on the field - I've been happy with his effort and play. If you're a fan satisfied with his play than off the field effort to play football had to have been there. -

I argue with all inherently negative people - so it's just not you. I'm sure there's fans that see things they don't like - but I think I'd have an equal amount of fans that have little issue with is on field play. -

There's a huge difference between taking things seriously and being laid back. He's a chill dude when he talks. Saying football comes easy to him doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't give maximum effort - that's conjecture on your part. His off the field issues have been a big problem and frustrating for sure. However to play tackle in the NFL is a mother of a grind. Could it be that it's easy for him simply because he loves it? Could that be what he means? I think it's quite lazy on your part to throw out these comments as you pretend to equate them to effort. -

Fair enough. Is it typical for the team to take on that responsibility - where a player can ask them, can I take this?
