Give up McCoy for a player in a contract year? I don't think so. If you want the Bills interest, you better come with draft picks.

I think these young execs are learning a lesson tonight, no doubt. If it's a tank, I'm all for it. In other words, I hope they are doing this on purpose. The end better justify the means. -
Youngsters are learning a valuable lesson today. They won't sleep well at all.

well...forget about that 3rd round comp pick
White Linen replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll use him until we are either out of the playoff hunt by week 10 (likely) or we'll keep him if he plays better than what a 3rd round pick is worth. Pretty simple. -

So don't waste picks and FA money on offensive weapons until you have a great QB? Now that's funny, really funny. -
McDermott called Kromer and asked if he would be interested in staying on. Kromer said I'm actually trying to find a spot where I have an opportunity to move up in the ranks to coordinator and I'm getting several offers of more than 100K compared to my salary here - even as an O line coach. McDermott understood and started contacting Castillo.

Neither of these two players have ever had as much as a parking ticket. -
Who are your top 10 O line coaches?

Tyrod is definitely not the worst QB in the NFL and he's also no where near the worst QB the Bills have ever deployed. However, to me, what he's showing is that he's not getting better and therefore isn't the answer. It's painful to say this but we're going to have to wait yet again for our answer at QB. I like what I see from Petterman so it's either he develops into our guy or see what transpires at draft time.

8-14: Bills' GM Brandon Beane on WGR
White Linen replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As we all know the problem is finding that allusive QB in the draft and if you're not high enough - what's it going to cost? You then have to unload some serious picks and pray that he's the guy. If he is, drafting and player acquisition gets a heck of a lot easier. I just want us to get lucky and have one soon. Until then I'll root for the team to do well but with that thought constantly in my head. I'll hope Peterman is our guy until proven otherwise. -
8-14: Bills' GM Brandon Beane on WGR

I think culture is important and all coaches go after it - albeit in different ways but they all know how necessary it is. The issue is that culture is only sustained from winning. An example of this was the last several episodes of "All Or Nothing" on amazon with the Rams. Fisher and his staff tried everything to keep these guys up after starting 3-1. It was depressing watching that team slide mentally. Culture will come if this coaching staff gets the players to reasonably believe in what their doing now, they game plan well and then they have to win. -
Greatest WR you've seen in your lifetime

You don't see Owens in that same conversation with Moss - for almost the same reasons? Their stats are nearly identical and I'd put Owens in that physical freak category too. -
I wouldn't disagree. I think that's one of the real factors in the "potential" column I mentioned above. I think he'll face a similar situation with Goff whom I don't think elevates Sammy into the 1,300-1,600 yd range - hence I believe he'll get paid on what he's capable of doing. Of course I could be wrong but I don't think Goff or their offense is there yet.

If you saw him play it's hard to pick anyone other than Jerry Rice. I'll just list some guys I liked watching over the years. Largent Monk Bruce/Holt Brown Fitz Reed Ocho Mason Jeffires -
I thought it was explained connecting the post I responded to. Understand I'm not happy we don't have Watkins and I would have liked to ink him to a long term contract. I'm just merely pointing out that two realities exist. One is a player posts the numbers and gets paid accordingly ie Antonio Brown - Two is a player posts good numbers but other factors are considered and they get paid potential. In Sammy's case, picking up his 5th year option would have been on potential and I think it's likely his next contract will as well. All I'm saying is that Beane was not going to do that - so he attempted to mitigate the loss of Sammy with Matthews and the 2nd Rd pick was enough to cement the deal(s).

Anquan Boldin Signs 1 Year Deal with the Bills Pg45

The problem with ever taking you seriously is your incessant negativity - especially when talking about what hasn't happened. When you get called out on it you fall back on the past. You hate when anyone is hopeful and your undying crusade to debate every single thing to the contrary is boring. Every single team is thin at certain positions. They all then make decisions based on availability of players, draft picks and economics to mitigate the lack of depth. We're no different and we come here to talk about what possible scenarios there are for players to fill those voids. You just say it's not happening and you're all blind to the truth. We get you - there's no need to keep regurgitating your BS. Read this ScottLaw - it's you man
