IMO, this would be a last resort and I don't think he lasts long enough to be a last resort. I just don't think he's the type of athlete they want at LB.

I don't think it's unreasonable. It may be our turn to have a crazy story about how we found our guy.

My point was, not paying Tyrod market value for a QB they don't believe can win a championship. Draft a QB with a low cap hit and use that cap to bolster the team. That, as it appears, is what we're doing.

Robinson went to Chicago with a rookie QB that stunk. Watkins left a place with a 2nd year starter who didn't throw him the ball much to a place where a guy has one NFL start. Is it so hard to believe we could sign those type of players if we wanted to?

I actually think that saying it's not his fault is correct. When you ask any player to do too much/more than he's physically capable of that's the problem. Like I said in my earlier posts - when he's had help around him, he's been outstanding.

I think the Star signing and the timing of it is why this makes sense. Kyle has been asked to do things beyond his physical capabilities and the reason fans and his teammates love him is he's exceeded expectations. He's a penetrating DT that possesses the ability to take on an o lineman one on one get to the QB and plays the run well. He's not a guy to take on a double team or be the run stuffing anchor. When teamed up with Stroud and Dareus (when he played well) - that's when Kyle was at his best. The signing of Star makes perfect sense for Kyle to once again fit nicely in this defense. For different reasons than when with Stroud and Dareus but the effect will be the same. Let Kyle work one on one, penetrate and he'll handle his gap responsibilities.

Alex Smith has been extensively debated at TBD. This is definitely one of the arguments you don't pay him as one of the best in the game. It's a roll of the dice but KC decided they can only go so far with Smith - then trying this path makes perfect sense to me. Buffalo fans are jaded because just being relevant is attractive - KC is trying to win a championship. What Bills fans will soon see is that we're taking the same route as KC.
