  1. Do you want to have him get into his doghouse?
  2. Sure., I understand that..However, what coach is saying is that everyone has a chance to unseat the incumbent and they should be working towards that. This is the biggest difference between the Bills and winning teams like the Steelers. Sitting in Pittsburgh, I watched every year their backups seamlessly filling in for the starters when they went down with injury (except on the OL). They had their backups prepared mentally to be starters. I am assuming this is what the Doug and Doug show is building back there in Orchard Park.
  3. The Bills are doing their due diligence including interviewing a minority candidate....oops...sorry i forgot that they already have that in house and will satisfy the Rooney rule!
  4. Agreed. Right now SJ is not even at Mould's level let alone Reed or Lofton. Just because he had 1000 yard receiving in three consecutive seasons means nothing. SJ has had very poor games in between. At this point, if someone does says SJ is our #2, I have no problems with it. Until SJ can be consistent, he will have to prove to be a #1.
  5. Like " I don't know why it happened. We will have to see the tapes and figure it out. I don't have any answers for it yet". And it was like a broken record week in, week out.
  6. +1. Russ is Cheap!!!
  7. I thought Perry Fewell did a good job with the available talent. On the other hand, Jerry Gray was pathetic.
  8. You mean the guy who stuck up a pencil over his ears :-) It seemed that some of the folks around here felt that was not in good taste for the GM-in-waiting!
  9. According to coach Marronne, there is battle for starting position at every Position, not just the ones you have listed above.
  10. I don't want Brad Smith to restructure. That simply gives him more money upfront and a bigger cap hit later. If Brad needs to be here, he needs to be better than these 4 rookie WRs. Simple.
  11. Kolb understands the WCO far better than any of the QBs on this team right now and that is the system Hackett is going to run. I don't know if TJ ran a WCO in Minnesota prior to Seattle.
  12. Again you are missing the point. There was no restrictions from within OBD as to who he could hire as a HC. All your "Ifs" are betting on the future and we have no control over that. The only thing we can look at as a body of work is his last 3 years as a GM and that has been mediocre. I hope for the Bills sake, this 2013 draft is their biggest hit draft that turns them around.
  13. And I hate all those failed experiments of the Jauron and Gailey era of converting players out of position. If you are a WR, then you are a WR.
  14. It is very hard for rookie WRs to put up big numbers and also consistent statistics to be ROY. And don't forget RGIII won the starting job in training camp. One thing to note about these three phenomenal rookie seasons is that all three of them had a great Running Game to take the pressure of the QB himself. It allowed for excellent execution of Read Option or the Play Action. Gore, Morris and Lynch were the best buddies for the rookie QBs. It would be up to CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson to provide the same level of comfort for EJ to operate.
  15. And possibly take care of Wood's contract. That would mean we would need to deal only with Spiller next season.
  16. Talley Version 2.0?
  17. The original quote was that Nix did not have any control on who he could hire. I am just disputing that there was no such evidence. The evidence that he could hire anyone was that they interviewed Mike Shanahan. The question was not who Nix could have hired. Nix also had a shot at taking his Franchise QB in that same year or the next. Instead they went with the retreads in Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick both of whom had horrible plays in the previous season. Nix does not get a pass for that. And he took a long while to do both. In fact last November, he even got angry that Reporters wanted Chan gailey canned. He emphatically said that Gailey will be the HC next season. Similarly, he felt that Fitzpatrick could turn it around and he couldn't influence his HC to at least give Tavaris Jackson a chance to play, even in meaningless games.
  18. Completely agree. Buddy took three years to realize that we need a Franchise QB and a Good HC to succeed (Time will tell if Manuel and Marrone are Franchise and Good respectively). Another revisionist theory. RW had courted Mike Shannahan before settling in for Gailey. Nix could have hired any HC he wanted. He chose a retread Gailey after Shannahan and Cowher turned him down.
  19. +1 EJ was the most accurate passer in college out of all those QBs that were drafted in the 2013 draft. It was something like 68%. He was also the most accurate passer among the college QBs when it came to 20+ yard throws. His biggest knock in college was that he held on to the ball too long. Absolutely. At least the offense will not be boring.
  20. On ESPN Website: Backs with statistics http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/65051/why-bills-drafted-ej-manuel-in-first-round
  21. Unfortunately those advertisements is what pays the players (along with the TV contracts, which in turn is dependent on the Advertisements on TV) salaries and the existence of the franchise.
  22. Good video. Shows that he has some work to do (Like all rookies). Hopefully, the bills staff will be able to iron out his flaws.
  23. Rich Stadium sounded very good on TV for over 20 years.... "Welcome to Rich Stadium at Orchard Park"......
  24. And a real QB drafted in the 2010 draft
