  1. The problem is that analytics is a great tool for lazy writers. Across the country, when people are writing or representing different Sports publications, they are all not traveling to Wyoming and watch Josh Allen day in-day out to write reviews about him. IN today's Internet-driven world, the data is available and it is up to people to interpret it (as someone else wrote earlier). Lazy writers pick what statistics they want to write stories that sell on Internet!
  2. I think Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning won 3 games in their rookie seasons....Both those teams kept them under Center in spite of the losses.
  3. As QB of the team, he did win 9 games for us! Last time I checked NFL has W-L records for QBs.
  4. I didn't say that...but he did make plays to win some of those games...the biggest thing from him we will miss is the lack of turnovers...That team from last year would have struggled to overcome turnovers (as evidenced by the Chargers game). Every rookie QB is going to do that...it is part of the learning process.
  5. But Tyrod also wons us 9 games...the Brows won 0..
  6. this! I would be curious to know how TT graded on this....He was heavily criticized during his tenure here for not being able to lead the receiver.
  7. Really ? They have only 2 QBs to evaluate and Nate already got his start in Week1....So it would have only been fair to evaluate Josh against the 1st if he is truly competing for the starting position. I don't think any of them play week4.
  8. The other is the schedule...They have a brutal first half with 5 of the first 7 on the road....and against really good teams. Does Allen learn from this schedule and adjust for the 2nd half (Is he ready mentally to handle defeats on the road at the beginning of his career ?). If I were McD, I would go with putting the kid on the field.
  9. But Brady has the numbers to back him too. He won 4 super bowls, took his team to 7 of them and has dominated the NFL for 20 years. Kelly was a gunslinger with a great RB to take pressure of him. Brady on the other hand is the master of the quick pass (deadly accuracy) with great anticipation. He is a master at practicing his skills to perfection like an assassin. Two different types of QBs and you can't really compare them.
  10. I have to agree here. It is not that we have a Veteran QB competing with Allen. Peterman was a rookie last year. If the talent level is way greater than Allen has to start. One thing we were wondering prior to the pre-season games was the progress of Allen. Can he read NFL defense, is he able to adjust live and improvise, does he know to take what the defense may be giving etc...The Preseason games have shown that he has grown in those phases. He does not appear to be rattled by the defense even after taking the couple of sacks. He has delivered in the pocket in spite of taking hits. He has taken his opportunities and run away with it. I honestly think at this time Allen may be more ready than even Darnold.
  11. I think AJ is a veteran player who has been in the league now for five years. This is McDeromotts way of being polite and doing the right thing with a Vet player. Sometimes, what you don't do makes you look better in players eyes.
  12. He needs to work on those quick-out...It got him in trouble against the Chargers last year and he showed the same issues in Pre-season too
  13. May be he made a mistake in his first draft. Remember they could have had not only Mahomes, but Watson too...
  14. Are they using the same contractor even after the Pegulas took over the team?
  15. As others pointed out, a gamer would have better stats in the last three years....He is buried in the depth chart and that is what he is..if a better backup becomes available then he will be replaced.
  16. +1. I thought Ford also ran hard and with instinct. Tough cuts looming on the RB side.
  17. I agree...this was the difference between Big Ben and JP in their rookie season...Big Ben was elusive and made ccurate throws that didn't require his OL to block all day for him. On the flip side for both JP and Trent Edwards, the line needed to protect them if they had to connect. The other aspect I see with Josh is his "anticipation". Something Tyrod could never do. A Offensive game plan like the Patriots is pre-determined on QB's anticipation of where a receiver is going to be and to throw before that...Tyrod refused to do that so many times.
  18. I posted in another topic. They could get Landry from the Steelers
  19. May be the Bills should swing a trade for Landry who may get cut by the Steelers...They have four QBs on the roster and they are not going to cut Rudolph or move him to the PS
  20. At this point this is the easiest answer especially if AJ's injury is confirmed.
  21. I see that Matt Schaub played today for the Falcons!!!
  22. They (unfortunately) call it a "Mild Sprain" in the NFL!!!
