The Bills are the most complete team in the NFL.
ganesh replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This is Andy Reid's 2nd coaching stint and Mahomes was a god send for him after struggling to win with Alex Smith. Then the pieces fell in place. This is the first HC and GM job for McDermott and Beane...they are getting there... -

Bills could clear a lot more salary cap space beginning Tuesday

We drafted pass rushers at the top of the draft; that should help with the pressure on Mahomes. Hopefully. next year they will go CB in the top of the draft. They also may need to draft for safeties...Hyde and Poyer are getting older and also have huge salary cap hits in 2022 making them big candidates for being let go. -

The point was not about Mahome's salary impacting the cap...but that they have HIT on their 2nd and 3rd rounders consistently whereas we haven't. -

The super bowl window with your franchise QB on his rookie deal is a UNIQUE window of opportunity. This is a place where you can gamble and get the difference maker if he is out there and it will still not hurt the team long term. Winning championships becomes harder when you pay for your franchise QB and your draft picks are not hitting it. In a recent Locked ON Bills show, one of the points raised eyebrows is that the chiefs with a franchise QB deal are still about 10M lower in net salary cap space than the buffalo bills; this is for both 2021 and 2022 season... Peeling the envelope, he provided the primary reason for the chiefs being in this comfortable situtaion is their draft picks from Rd 2 through 4 being very successful in the past few years. We are still waiting for Ford, Singletary and Knox to come through; we have hope for Epenesa and Moss...But that is a key difference....These players not developing fast enough means we are covering them with veterans such as Addision, paying for Feliciano etc while waiting for home grown talent to grow. We need our 2nd and 3rd rounders to come through this yeara. -

IIt depends. We are currently in the SB window with your franchise QB on a rookie contract. You have to pull the trigger if it makes sense. -
You mean lesser capable people? Let us not always associated poor quality to lower paid folks. Breida is that speedy back, he is currently replacement of the since departed Yeldon. In 2020, Yeldon was an active scratch or in less than 10% of plays. It is going to be hard for Breida to be on the field as much as he would like. I still think this is Moss job to lose.

The sad part was that the defense allowed so many plays on that game winning drive for the Browns. This after holding them down most of the game.

What is the worst play in Bills history?

Wide Right Illegal Forward Pass Give It to Them Leodis fumble on KR - gave the game away to NE Stevie's miserable drop against Steelers Losman fumble against the Favre Jets 4th and 3 1st down by the Steelers backup QB Not defending the 3rd and 19 against Houston in the playoffs Most miserable - Seeing Kelly being carted off the field after the concussion on his final play in the NFL -
He is in Top 5 QBs in everyone's list. Considering that there are 3-5 marquee players at skill positions and the guys who sack the QB, I would say he will be somewhere between 8-15. Watching and hearing some of the off season NFL shows, there are still plenty of doubters of Allen and they participate in creating this Top 100 list; hence there is going to be that push against him. I can easily see the following players (who are all fantastic players) above Allen in the rankings (Due to some of their bias for these players and against Allen). QB: Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady, Wilson, Jackson and Watson RB: Henry WR: Hopkins, Diggs, Adams TE: Kelce DL: Donald, T.J. Watt DB: Howard, Adams, Ramsey

Harrison Phillips- Can he become what he was drafted for?

We should have extremely high expectation of this DL...they spend high Draft Picks and top FA dollars on this bunch and they have not produced championship level play -
The 2014 WR Draft Class: How Does it Rank after 7 Years
ganesh replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You never invest two 1st rd picks on a WR when you don't have the Franchise QB. It will always go to waste. It was shame to see us betting that Manuel and then Kyle Orton doing any magic with Watson. If Watson was with Allen, it would have been a different ball game -

Why it is voluntary OTA...and these are seasoned veterans. The DL without Star was manhandled by a top level chiefs OL in the AFC Championship game. If you want to get to the SB then you got to better * at taking down Mahomes * giving time for Allen -
Sheldon Richardson or Vernon Butler
ganesh replied to Weatherman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think someone posted earlier that Richardson is a process guy..That is why he was traded by the Jets and let go by the Seahawks -
Fairburn would swap Allen for Mahomes. Would you?

This question is like who would you rather have: Jim Kelly or either of Marino, Elway or Young...... -
what happens if it is switched around....Rousseau goes on to a HOF career while Etienne fails to get enough touches in a crowded backfield in Jacksonville. The Draft is a lottery and there is no such thing as a sure thing

Steps taken to solve last year's problems
ganesh replied to Arm of Harm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We lost the AFC Championship game because: * Their OL man handled our DL giving all the time for Mahomes to get to the receivers * Their DL man handled our OL making Josh run around for his life, taking bad sacks. * Our OL provided no help to the running game to shorten the game and take the pressure of Josh * Our DL provided no help in keeping the QB (a hurt one) under check. I think the Bills saw the issue and shored up both the lines. Their theory - Improving the lines will help fix their weakness in the Run game and getting after the QB -
Cover 1 breakdown on Gregory Rousseau

Agreed too often, opposing QBs escaped the pressure to make that late throw. There were quite a few instances.
