The problem with JP was that he did not have "It". Reading defenses were not his forte nor his ability to deliver the strikes. Granted he had crappy WRs for most of his time here. In general our draft picks need to start coming through. While we have had good drafts that resulted in good players we are YET to hit on a blue chip player (Milano comes as 'very good'). We need people like Cody Ford. Epenesa, the RBs, Knox, to get to that next step so they form the backbone of this team for the next decade. This is also the only way we are going to be competitive and still pay Josh.
