  2. Big 4 auditors have great exit opportunities. Especially after they make manager or higher. Accounting experience is always in demand. CFA is a nice designation. I am a Charterholder myself. It is, however, of limited applicability. It helps with entry level buy side gigs (equity analyst, research analyst, etc), corporate FP&A gigs, Big 4 business valuation work. Its becoming watered down as kids are passing tests but still have no real experience and are unable to put it all together. Top MBA programs still carry the most weight. If he wants to get into IB, CFA doesn't mean that much unfortunately. They want MBA candidates typically. Something to think about.
  3. If he doesn't know what he wants to do, like many kids aren't when they graduate, have a frank conversation with him about what kind of life he wants to have. "Follow your dreams" is terrible advice for most kids. That's how we get thousands graduating with degrees in graphic design only to find out the market is over-saturated with applicants, these jobs only exist in select markets, they're not nearly as glamorous as you would imagine, and they don't pay dick. If he wants to make some bank and live comfortably, move to a big city. Any city. How many hours is he willing to work? Whats his idea of work life balance? I had no idea what I wanted to do but I always knew what kind of lifestyle I wanted and that I was too competitive to punch the clock and just get by. Once he knows what he wants and what's important to him, the career choices will narrow down and things will come into focus.
  4. Ward was awfully hard on the beaver a number of times. Its well documented if you watched the show.
  5. Ward and June Cleaver slept in different beds. They still banged.
  6. It will still be a passing league, but I don't know that the guys out there are going to develop into another Brees, Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Rodgers. We could see Stafford, Ryan, Newton, Wilson, Luck, Carr be the new premier QBs. They're excellent players but they aren't in that super elite class where your team is a perennial contender on the strength of the QB position. I expect to see more parity after these guys move on. We just witnessed another Golden Era of QB play where Super Bowls were won by the same few teams. I could be completely wrong but that's my gut feeling. Who knows, maybe Darnold, Watson, Mahomes, Mayfield, and Allen become the next dominant QBs and compete with each other every year for rings?
  7. As we are a month out from the Houston game and there are a few people going (and the other thread where I promised restaurant recommendations for @FluffHead is closed) a few housekeeping notes and then down to business. 8. My memory is pretty solid, but this isn't the first time this a topic like this has come up and I've posted the same synopsis. I went back and fact checked this sad episode in Bills history the first time and made sure my memory was consistent with what went down. That dumpster fire of a team still almost beat the Patriots in the opener. Game balls to Leodis for muffing the punt and lil Donte whose arms just weren't long enough to defend identical TD passes to TE Ben Watson.
  9. The 2009 offseason fiasco may still have this one beat. Trade Peters for picks. Late on the paperwork to trade Dockery so wound up paying him a roster bonus and then released him for nothing. Slide Langston Walker over from RT to LT. When Walker struggles at LT we cut him days before the opener. Promote DeMetress Bell to LT ahead the Thursday night opener. Fire Schonert, promote AVP to offensive coordinator and abandon the uptempo, no huddle offense. But we did sign TO, Drayton Florence, Hangartner, and Fitzmagik, so I guess this FA period might be more futile.
  10. New information!! TBD Crime Scene Investigation Special Victims Judge Advocate General Cold Case Unit Squad assemble!!!!!!!!
  11. In the next 3 years I think we will be looking at a league without Ben, Brees, Brady, or Rodgers. Staffords and Ryans will be worth their weight in gold. Wars will be fought over Newton. The forward pass may become a thing of the past.
  12. AB is pissed that Ben used him as a decoy on the QB keeper TD run. Brown walked off the field while everyone else celebrated. Dude cares more about his own stats than winning. Definitely not a Process guy.
  13. Define the problem.
  14. I completely agree. They chose this situation. There were options. Inherit is very misleading.
  15. We have one less old player than we did during the first half on Sunday. So there's that.
  16. Allow me. Trade Shady, Clay, Benjamin, and Star for some magic beans and then complain about how our hands are tied due to cap hell.
  17. I guess I'm confused about why they got rid of the young talent if they needed to replace the aging core. The aging core is still here and actually got older in this most recent free agency. And our cap issues are a product of trading away the young talent, so I'm not sure where you're going with that point. These bad culture guys seem to be doing well elsewhere. I guess Cincinnati, Jax, KC, and LA Rams just have garbage cultures which is why our castoffs have fit in so well.
  18. The Bears will play conservatively and try to win with defense. This is Seattle's game to lose now.
  19. You are correct. There were no other choices than to be historically bad this year. Hopefully there are enough "good culture" leaders out there to field an NFL roster next year.
  20. I maintain straying from the old cash to the cap accounting treatment employed during the Wilson owned teams was the biggest misstep in franchise history. Kinda like getting off the gold standard.
  21. Dareus, Sammy, and Glenn were the "old guard" and just old?
  22. I find it interesting that this quote is most commonly attributed to a woman who downed a bottle of sleeping pills with a fifth of vodka not too long after and is the personal mantra for every emotionally unstable, trainwreck of a girl out there but if it makes you feel better about going 1-15 this year then good for you.
  23. Its equally amazing how the "narrative" dismisses how the Jags and Browns have picked in the top 10 nearly every year for the past decade*. Cleveland has picked 7 times in the top 5. Only in 2015 did the Browns not pick in the top 10. Meanwhile Jax only picked outside the top 10 in 2018. 6 years in a row they owned one of the top 5 picks. You can suck for a very long time in this league if you're committed to it. I'm not buying the Jags as a success story. *before trades.
  24. That and he only tackled guys BEHIND the line of scrimmage like Poz and London Fletcher.
