  1. What is indefensible about a tweet sent 12 hours after the "assault" expressing concern about a friend and condemning hatred? What facts were publicly available at 3PM January 29th mere hours after the hoax? Jussie made a lot of people look like fools. His actions were heinous.
  2. And you have evidence that she did so with knowledge of Jussie's plans to commit a hoax for public attention?
  3. That tweet is from the same day as the fake assault. Are you suggesting she was in on it or should have smelled a hoax before the first cursory reports hit the wire? Weak.
  4. Its not just calling audibles. Its all communication on offense. The huddle, substitutions, the snap count.
  5. Would you rather be the leading scientist in your field or get the mad cow disease? https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/harry-caray-space-the-infinite-frontier/3505886
  6. Why not?!?!?
  7. I was thinking Ralph Kramden stadium but that probably wont fly in this more sensitive climate.
  8. I heard the beer can in the center console was full of sacramental wine and Ed responded to all of the officer's questions by reciting scripture.
  9. Thankfully we played 2 less games than MTL and finished one less win and one less tie otherwise this could have been us! Thanks Bettman.
  10. Not to be pulled over. Going 20 mph over the speed limit and weaving through traffic is going with the flow in Houston.
  11. There's one or two every year. Christian Wade could be bigger than all of them. Da'Rick is up there.
  12. That's where I'm at with Duke. His whole value proposition is supposed to be strong hands, makes contested catches. We know he isn't getting separation at the NFL level, he isn't a threat to run after the catch, and he didn't come down with the ball when it mattered in Houston. I don't know if theres a spot for a guy who didn't squeeze the ball when it mattered. Hodgins is supposed to have amazing hands, similar height, and not be quite as slow as Duke. It will be tough for him to make the team in my opinion.
  13. College ball isn't the same without the connection to the schools and fans. I did not care about college ball while living in WNY. Here in Houston college ball is bigger than NFL. I've posed the same question to many of my friends and colleagues: Would you take 5 consecutive super bowl wins for (Texas, Saints, Cowboys, etc.) or 1 National Championship for (A&M, LSU, UT, TCU, etc.)? The answer is always the same and its one National Championship. Living in college football country, going to an LSU tailgate, seeing all the pageantry on a fall Saturday helps you see past the fact that every game is basically a blowout to impress Condoleeza Rice and appreciate the spectacle.
  14. This is a good starting place: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/11/real-texas-chili-con-carne.html Except I will add more chilie de arbols and chipotles than called for. Do a mix of ground beef and beef cubes. I add crushed tomatoes sometimes. Black beans or pinto beans might make it in the mix but NO kidney beans. Sometimes I like to toss in some bacon or smoked ham hocks. The key to exceptional chili is using a variety of freshly ground chile powders or using whole dried smoked chilies. If you have a generic "chili powder" in your spice cabinet, toss it out. That stuff is a mixture of all sorts of peppers and other spices.
  15. And this is a point I agree on. Fromm doesn't owe Marcel anymore of an answer than he gave. Fromm will want to watch Josh Allen and brush up on his media skills if he ever wants to be the guy.
  16. He gave an opinion that didn't answer the question. Reporter (Paraphrasing): People are looking at the Kaepernick protests over police brutality, the issue has emerged again, the topic of kneeling during the anthem i being discussed. How should the NFL respond and what is your responsibility to your teammates as a leader on your team and and leader in the league? Brees: I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag. [speech about his family's military service, what the anthem means to him, and how it moves him to tears] No one was offended about what the flag means to Brees. Spinning it that way is dishonest. People were upset with Brees, notably his teammates and NFL brethren, because he avoided the issue and waved the flag.
  17. The unacceptable part has already been addressed many times by participants in this thread and the Marcel himself. The bolded has nothing to do with it. That's the conclusion you and others jumped to on page 1. I am not countering this strawman again.
  18. So would I. And people may criticize. I probably wouldn't make awkward segue into what the flag means to me in the process, however.
  19. Brees dodged a question and then wrapped himself in the flag. Similarly to the Fromm situation, people were quick to change the story and focus on any criticism of Brees' comments as anti-flag and anti-american rather than accept that people were dissatisfied with him for avoiding the real question. There is a power in deflecting and then waving the flag or your religion.
  20. If my texts were revealed to the public I would jobless, homeless, and likely deported.
  21. I am getting concerned that those who DO share Fromm's worldview (or what they think his worldview is based on his brief comments) cannot admit he copped out and even after he said he wasn't going to answer the question. They have equated any questioning of his response to an attack on his religion. If you say anything that can be construed as scripture I guess we all lose our right to criticize lest commit heresy.
  22. LOL. Add it to the TBDisms thread. You'll never guess who slept through Sunday school?
  23. I have no problem with him tossing his faith into his lack of response. I have an issue with everyone who cannot admit that he dodged the question, which is painfully clear, and instead want to argue about the profundity of "i think the world can be a better place if we can love god first and then love people". He may as well have said the world can be a better place if we recycle. Both statements are true, as deep as a bumper sticker, and only tangentially related to the question.
