  1. Taylor playing safe, conservative, small-ball down 3+ scores was pretty silly.
  2. Kelvin Benjamin's agent must be livid.
  3. Don't worry guys he's got a good QB rating for the season.
  4. Right. Missing Dareus is the reason we lost.
  5. We could have signed those bodies after the compensatory period ended on May 9th and kept our draft picks. Would we have gotten players of equal caliber to Ducasse, Holmes, and Davis? Probably not. Would we have gotten players that bring 85% of what they bring? Almost certainly, and we'd retain our picks. It's mismanagement, plain and simple. These types of moves were the hallmark of the Whaley regime. In most situations smart teams don't trade away high draft picks for rotational and depth players -- they wait until the compensatory period ends. It's really, really easy to downplay the importance of draft picks by citing stats like "only 10% of 4th round picks turn out to be starters." Keep this in mind -- Kelvin Benjamin is here because of a 3rd round pick. The third round pick is a third round pick. And no, teams aren't shooting for "decent" rotational or depth players.
  6. These moves should have never been made in the offseason, unfortunately we still had the wrong GM in place at the time. Sacrificing 3rd and 4th round picks for temporary depth is a complete blunder (players like Ducasse are not part of the future of this team). You could maybe cut 1 of those players at this point, but cutting 3 or 4 right now probably wouldn't sit too well in the locker room, and it sends the wrong message ("play hard and still get cut"). I'd love to see it done, but that seems like a pipe-dream at this point.
  7. He's done, was already talking about retiring after the season. The timing here is no accident, the Pack will wind up getting a 4th rd comp pick back bringing their total up to 5.
  8. Forecast is in the 30's with showers, the Saints haven't played in that yet this year. The weather could be give us a nice assist.
  9. Right now the correct term is "overdrafted." If he doesn't develop though.... What a great opportunity to test the new board's archives. Let's see what TBD was saying on draft day. RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University
  10. Halfway through the 4th quarter we had 7 points on the board. By my count there were about 5 three-and-outs. He looked like he was filming an instructional video on How To Get Sacked. Sorry, but the quarterback is certainly complicit in that mess. The blocking up front was terrible but TT wasn't doing them any favors. They brought 5 all night and he didn't have an answer.
  11. I think you've had enough bears.
  12. You gotta be kidding. These attempts at propping up the Jets in order to make that loss look better really are amusing. I'd wager that 99% of this forum couldn't name the starters on their front 7 without Googling it -- and we just played them 2 days ago. Davis has been a JAG LB throughout his 6-yr career. Darron Lee has been a massive disappointment and there were rumors he would be benched after week 2 this year. Their DL has something like 3 sacks combined 9 games into the season. Wilkerson is the only player of note in that front 7 and even he has been slowing down (of course, we made him look like JJ Watt last night). If anything the bright spots for them are the rookies Maye and Adams in the secondary.
  13. Yeah, all season I've heard the absurd notion that passing yards aren't important, typically accompanied by some astoundingly flawed logic and cherrypicked stats. I'll give Tyrod this -- after we went down 34-7 he looked great.
  14. Thanks for this thread. I needed this today.
  15. Tyrod was hot garbage last night. This is such a classic TBD thread lol. If history holds true we should all be treated to a "What exactly is garbage time?" post sometime this week.
  16. He's probably trying to get out of town after what he saw tonight.
  17. Last few days? He hasn't gotten a sack in a month.
  18. I'd say a more apt quote would be "Dumping Tyrod Taylor because you think you can do better is like hitting a soft 17 in blackjack." The book says you hit that every time, and most people don't understand why.
  19. One player is on his rookie contract, the other player isn't.
  20. Holmes' contribution going forward is not likely to increase after today, if anything it's going to go down. Deonte Thompson has marginalized him a bit as well. Davis is a rotational JAG that plays about 30 of the snaps. Oddly enough Ducasse has managed to become the starter and would be the biggest loss. I don't know if you were paying attention today, but we just obtained Kelvin Benjamin because of......drum roll..... a 3rd round pick. Think about it.
  21. I can't see the Pats taking on a distraction. Green Bay? Miami?
  22. Ajayi has looked terrible this year, doesn't have nearly the ferocity he has shown in the past. Maybe he's just checked out, guess we'll find out.
  23. Possibly one less QB drafted early next year.
  24. If that's the conversation then it's a pretty moronic one. Sadly, that's par for the course around here lately. Every future late round pick is not Tanner Vallejo, that's a ridiculous notion. We can't quantify the negative effect Dareus has on the locker room with numbers so it becomes easy to dismiss. Apathy and laziness are contagious, and I think this sends a fantastic message to the locker room - "We don't care about your contract, go hard every day or you're getting shipped out." What do you think the rest of the league was offering for him this offseason? Probably nothing or a 7th round conditional pick. This guy was one more missed meeting away from being outright cut.
  25. An accurate summation of what's going on here.
