  1. Is it possible to be out of a game when the other team scores 9 points?
  2. You forgot about Jonathan Williams. At least 4-0 right now. At least.
  3. Getting him to make it through this season at 29 is iffy. I think a fairly large portion of the fanbase understands that he's not part of our future, but that's not going to stop a massive freak-out next March.
  4. I think he still has injury issues affecting him. He lost his Pro Bowl center hours before the game, his security blanket Olsen during the game, was sacked 6 times and under pressure quite often, and still played a decent game. I don't think their D is that good, and certainly not elite. They have good numbers through 2 weeks because they played us and the 49ers. Let's see how they fare against the Saints and Pats in the next 2 weeks.
  5. Tough day for the CoT.
  6. Time out management was terrible. The TO taken outside of 2 min after he let ~30 sec run off the clock was brutal.
  7. I've seen this play hundreds of times (and that's not hyperbole). If you watch football weekly, you've probably seen the result of it hundreds of times too (perhaps unknowingly). Every offense has this play (or some variant) in their playbook. If you are getting caught up on ball placement it's a case of not seeing the forest for the trees. Tyrod has to force the DB to commit and he has to go to the receiver in single coverage. He doesn't do either. He glaces at Jones for a fraction of a second and stares down Clay the entire time. He makes it easy for the extra DB to break on his throw resulting in a pass into double coverage. I was going to post two more videos showing what this play looks like when executed properly with the DB led -- one pass to the receiver running out and the other to the receiver breaking in. There really is no point however, it's clear people are going to see what they want to see in this case. If their narrative is the QB did everything properly, any further explanation would be time wasted. Don't worry though, it's a certainty we'll see this play again soon, probably to the right side next time.
  8. I think it's more about the perceived "quality" of the writing than it is the money. A substantial vocal portion of the fanbase takes any criticism of the team almost as if it were an attack on their family. They don't want accurate reporting, they want to be told how great this team is going to be every year.
  9. Here's another still for you. TT hasn't released the ball yet and the DB is already committed to the TE. Zay Jones has just started to streak across the back of the endzone. This is not a difficult play -- in fact it's considered QB 101. You look off the defender by staring down the TE and toss a gimmie TD over the middle. There's no possible way for that defender to cover the WR if executed properly. Of course, TT stares down the TE and then throws high and slightly behind him (when the ball should have been thrown low in a place that Clay and only Clay could possibly catch it). This is why people criticize TT for not being an anticipatory passer. Again, this is basic stuff here and with that protection every QB in the league should be able to connect on this. Maybe next time you should try putting down the pom-pom's before watching tape.
  10. Link All the arguing about the Clay pass, meanwhile Zay Jones is wide open in the back of the endzone for an easy 6.
  11. Ahh, yeah you're right. It's 1.13 per game last year.
  12. He had 17 passing TDs last year, that's a 1.06 average per game.
  13. What would you call that performance?
  14. It's impossible to grade QB play with a single number, and there are enough variables in the QB formula to support whatever cognitive bias is being pushed. If Tyrod is your starting QB you better be looking for another one, and thankfully it appears our front office is doing just that.
  15. I agree with the philosophy of rotating D-linemen, but if you are paying a guy $100M he better be on the field on 3rd downs.
  16. I noticed the same thing as well, it certainly didn't feel like a home opener against a division opponent. We moved the ball well, but heading into the 4th quarter we were only up 2 points against a team that many feel was deliberately constructed to lose. I think that took a lot of energy out of the crowd.
  17. I don't know, I'm looking at the Jets schedule and finding it difficult to come up with more than 2 wins for them.
  18. Now we have posters making up false narratives and getting upset over them?
  19. That's the same QB play we've seen for the past 2 seasons.
  20. I can confidently say that we are better than the Jets.
  21. You don't pay a guy $100M to soak up blockers like a 0-tech NT.
  22. Even though a freeze can likely be compromised, I would still recommend it for all 3 agencies (especially if it's free to remove in your state). They will still notify you if the freeze has been lifted, which at least informs you that something is about to go down. The best defense is to keep a diligent eye on your accounts and reports, which is a hassle that most don't want. Unfortunately this will probably hurt the elderly the most.
  23. Hope for a win. Expect a lot closer game than many think.
