The thing is, you're looking at social media from an insular point of view. Social media should be looked at as just an extension of community on the internet. You have over 8k posts on this message board, and it's no different than if you used another platform like twitter or reddit to share your ideas about the Buffalo Bills, a community you've sought out. Social media doesn't just mean idiots posting their personal information or photos of their food. You said that you make money on social media, like most 21 century businesses, and that's because it's where the people are. To dismiss social media is similar to parents in the 1930's mocking the radio, or later the television, or long long before that (this actually happened...) print media.

Gil Brandt's Top NFL RBs and QBs of All Time
fridge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sports fans love lists. Why spend millions on a beer ad when you can just make a list and sponsor it? -
Pretty sure Gilmore also dropped a pick six in the same quarter (maybe even the same drive?). No need to cherry pick one play to diminish one of our better wins in the 17 years of crap.

I can't stand #billsmafia, but the bolded above is ignorant.

Buffalo Bills top 50 plays during drought years (2000-2016)
fridge replied to mileena's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched the whole thing. Our 17 year drought is old enough to drive, and it's never been more clear to me just how long that is when I watch the CBS 4:3 footage with the VHS tracking lines. Quick thoughts: 1. Terrance McGee is criminally underrated as one of the all-time greatest return men 2. Eric Moulds was incredible 3. Brian Moorman had more highlight left on the cutting floor 4. Some of those games I had completely forgotten - as though it's all somehow blending together, and it was fun reliving the final plays of those Bledsoe-era games -
We went ground 'n pound in a passing league. Everyone knows this. We were incredibly successful running the football, but never got into a passing rhythm all season. Simply throwing more will do nothing...Baltimore was #1 on that list. Most likely the solution is a better QB.

Shareece Wright spent $632 on an Uber to get to OTAs
fridge replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He spent $900+ on an 8+ hour drive? There were no last minute flights he could've booked? He either has a fear of flying or is in need of a new manager/agent. It took longer and cost more. Doesn't make sense. Edit: All of the above is irrelevant. The article in the OP didn't have the full story which indicates that he missed his flight. -
Rob Ryan feigning being held back is truly a wonderful sight to see. What clowns indeed.

I want one clear answer on Friday
fridge replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea how the McD + Beane tandem will turn out and I pray to God this is finally the answer. I think it's very possible the team could be on the verge of figuring this whole mess out and turning the culture into a winning one, but I'm also reserving my right to withhold any optimism until they show signs of a winning consistently. Too many times I've been burned by this team to just sit by and accept every single thing they do as a positive move. So, with all that...it blows my mind how snarky some of the answers here are. I'm a die-hard fan just like all of you, but I cannot understand how many people continually defend this franchise, decision-after-decision, after 17 brutal, playoff-less seasons. The OP wants accountability? Heck yeah - so do I. Asking him why he "deserves" it, is pathetic. -

Most frustrating season as of late?
fridge replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is it, and it's not even close. All the other frustrations in other seasons the team simply was not good enough. When Marrone quit the roster ready to make a run and I was frustrated the day we hired Rex to "lead" them. We kicked his a$$ the last few times we played the Jets and it just never made any sense to me at all. Knowing the team made such a colossal error, but still having to pull for them because they're your team and you think they are good enough is the most frustrating thing in sports. Weirdly this past season was the most frustrated I've been with the Sabres in a long time...maybe ever. I think they had a playoff roster (even with the D), and it was pretty hard watching them get out coached. They seemed to be able to score in flurries and at times at will, and you could see the team be forcibly pulled back to "protect" at times. That and the fact that we had the number one power play made it incredibly frustrating for me. A complete waste of a season. -
Would you, right now, trade TT for Deshaun Watson?

Houston wouldn't do this trade. -

We've been here before. I'm going to wait until we see how this team plays first.

I get it, we're jonesin' for a QB... but don't these insane posts usually comer after a slightly above average throw in the 4th quarter of the annual Lions preseason game?

Question about Russ and his dual team president role...
fridge replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've seen this movie 100 times before. Elitists form in one corner, claiming that they know how this works, and everyone else is an idiot for believing that Russ Brandon is the kind of President that actually makes decisions. There's little evidence to support either side so it just becomes a giant pissing match. As the years go on though, and he gets his fingerprints on more mistakes, it starts to get old. I mean, we've had these discussions for what...10+ years now? The organization has had a complete lack of accountability since Donahoe (not surprisingly, around the time Russ assumed his power). Everything has to be so confusing about who makes what decision and we're left arguing while no one involved with the front office gets the axe. There are legitimate sources that say our GM did not hire our last two coaches, which begs the question... who did? The narrative is that Russ heavily persuaded the owners to hire Rex. Why we can't have a simple hierarchy is beyond me, but either way, that's what happened and there's no amount of "business knowledge" this man can possess that makes him worth retaining after one of the worst hires I've ever seen. He made plenty more mistakes, and I'm sure they've been detailed thoroughly in this thread that I'm not going to read, but none of that really matters when you consider the absolute mess the Bills have been organizationally since he's been in charge. -
Question about Russ and his dual team president role...
fridge replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a weird example. The answer is...yes, IF one of Pegula's friends/children were named President of practically everything AND they had held a similar role for nearly 15 years, during a tremendous on the field/ice/whatever lacrosse is played on (lava?) drought AND their previous roles included being heavily involved with both personnel and day-to-day activities...yeah they should be sequestered. -
Question about Russ and his dual team president role...
fridge replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is not completely true. One of his titles is President of PS&E (they also do concerts and allegedly other entertainment projects not related to sports) IN ADDITION to his separate individual roles as President of each team directly (as well as the additional role as managing partner for the Bills). It's an important distinction because you were otherwise assuming that there are separate hierarchies that he wasn't also at the top of. Saying he doesn't handle the day-to-day is fine, but let's be honest his role has been pretty widespread since Pegula's took over. There is no way to say with any authority what his current role is regarding each team. -
I feel like he's had several adversity moments and has yet to rise to the challenge. No idea what makes you think this would turn him around.

Can you elaborate? I would assume a lot the first two rounds would be, "talked about by analytics guys".
