My re-post of your reaction was not to bash you...it was one of the first ones I saw where a person made a concrete projection re. the QB and the franchise. I know you do the work and are much more well versed in football than me. Your opinion was well based in your review of film and experience whereas many other reactions were simply based on " a feeling" or that which was fed to them over the course of several months. And I change my mind all the time. There's no way to tell who will succeed (Brady in the 6th?). Part of the fun is making a projection and then seeing where it ends up. I personally think it's too early to call Allen a "franchise QB" in year two. Is he a refreshing "face of the franchise"? Yes

Admittedly, I know very little about football scouting. I suppose Beane and McDermott are better at evaluating players and their “fit” with the team. If they want to go fly fishing, I can help them with that.

It’s kinda fun to go back and review the analysis of our team and selection of Josh Allen on Draft night. Some members are still here...others literally packed up their things and left. And I’m not targeting Gunner here. He’s a smart fella and I respect his analysis. His reaction is tame compared to some in this archived thread. It’s still very early to judge these five QB’s but Josh Allen is doing about as good as could be expected (high floor, high ceiling) in his development.

Sal. Greg Cosell. Cover 1. Sirius XM NFL channel are very informative.

Joe B. has a “proclivity” to say things like “Allen was really good” or “Beasley was super consistent”. He loves the generalities. I skim his stuff.

We have a lower than 40% chance to win and a greater than 50% chance of another major injury...when I look at those odds, I play it safe every time. Keep our players healthy for this next stretch of games. We take the Pats later in the season after they suffer a few losses and we win the AFC East outright. This is so clear to me but others seem to hang out hope for a miracle. Soooo frustrating

My point is, we don’t need this win. We can still win the AFC East by splitting with the Pats and, at the same time, have an extra Bye week. We’re playing virtual chess here PatsFan while you’re playing Toss Across.

Let's say we did forfeit this game, if the Pats were to go undefeated for the rest of the season guess what? There would be an asterix on their record. It would read "19-0* Footnote: The Buffalo Bills forfeited Week 4 game and, therefore, the Pats are not truly Undefeated"

Like I said, I'm spitballin' here and maintain that we would do better in the future (health wise and mental acuity) by letting the Pats fly home with an empty win.

I didn't say I wanted to be in this predicament...Does anyone really want to forfeit games? No. But with our undefeated record, knowing we can split with the Pats, this seems to be the best way to come out of this unscathed and still maintain the health of our unit.

So a forfeit makes sense then? I agree
