  1. He is also not in during 3rd and long where it is an obvious passing down since he is a liability. He is also not in on 3rd and mid distance where we might audible in or out of a pass because he is a liability. I am not a CJ hater. I think he is a solid talent, but for whatever reason this staff can't use him. He also has one or two major deficiencies that make him a liability in other phases of the game can't/won't hit the hole between the tackles, and pass protection. I want him resigned, but I am also in the camp that he doesn't deserve top 5 money. somewhere around 10. He will want a payday, and some team will most likely give it to him. I am curious, how many QB hits/hurries/sacks is CJ responsible in percentage to passing plays. Also success rate of imperative downs (ie 3rd downs) or passing plays when CJ is on the field. Again not trying to hate, but I think it is interesting data, that may answer a lot of questions or misconceptions, both good and bad, about Spliier
  2. I really liked the play call and the positioning of both the pass and Chandler. I think the issue is that Chandler hasn't been around, so the timing is a little off. We'll run route, well placed ball. Just poor timing is all. Hopefully that gets worked out the next few weeks.
  3. The point I disagree with in terms of 1 2 punch for this team. Hackett doesn't seem to know how to run sweeps, screens, or outside the tackles very well. In a team that did, Spiller would be a feature. For whatever reason, the roster or Hackett cannot execute these well. Therefor Spiller does not work. There is a lot of mention of using Spiller like Reggie Bush. The guy has been bouncing around the league the past few years, and nobody seems to be missing him all that much. Just an idea, don't hurt me too bad guys, but what about a set where we have Boobie and Fred and spiller out wide in an attempt to get him in space via the WR position.
  4. Exactly. The idea that El Pegula have Darcy the rope necessary to hang himself is revisionist. The response I think was to a question about the team being a disaster and what Ted Black's role in it was, as he was hired to be his "hockey" guy. I'm excited about Pegula as the owner of any franchise because it esures long term stability in location and an open check book. But you can't deny that he has had a hand in making every personnel decision for the Sabres. That extends much further than an owner being in the know. I hope with the Bills, since he seems to be a big hockey guy, and less of a football guy, he relinquishes any control over football decisions. It inhibits his abilities to be successful in either franchise.
  5. I'm in my phone and finding it would be a pain, but didn't Trump say he bid 1 billion in cash...?
  6. That's fair. I just looked up his numbers http://pickingpros.com/nfl/quarterback-rushing-leaders.php I didn't realize they were that high. Watching the games it doesn't seem that he is running the ball that much but he is. Surprising numbers from Alex Smith as well. I always forget Terrelle Pryor even exists. I don't know why
  7. Is that a Dick Jauron sighting at the end of the video?
  8. It's people like the ones you describe that make me think that Bills fans don't deserve nice things. Not an EJ defender, although an easy guy to root for. But the guy played 10 NFL games, and the people with pitch forks running him out of town are incredible. Patience, and the answer will be clear on what the next step is. At that point pick up your pitch forks, but we seem to run anybody/everybody who could develop into something out of the city before they get a chance. The sky is not falling. News flash, Russel Wilson is slightly above average and is carried by the other two phases of his team, and the last time Andrew Luck came out of the draft, his name was Peyton Manning. Finding a HOF QB is hard/almost impossible.
  9. There is a huuuuuuuuuge difference between an elusive QB and what Manziel does, possibly labeled mobile. While a mobile QB is always elusive, elusive QB's aren't even close to always mobile. This is the crux of the argument. Of course avoiding pressure results in more injuries, but being hyper-mobile will result in more. Rothlisberger is actually elusive, not necassarily mobile in that he isn't a take off and run guy, he just buys time. Brees, Rodgers, and Wilson fall into the same category. Although they both can and will, it is opportunistic, not a natural playing style. Within the pocket Brady is one of the most elusive in the NFL. He has a keen ability to sense pressure, and merely side step it. Cam Newton does not play an elusive style, he is mobile, huge difference. He takes off and runs, regularly. Difference with Cam is he is built like almost like a DE or LB. We will see how this treats him down the stretch of his career. Mike Vick is paying for his playing style later in his career, and he even got a reprieve from the NFL for a few years, and still can't hold up. Kaep lands here too. This popular new breed in QB may not last, this is the first time we are seeing such size in mobility in larger numbers at the position. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. The sack rate for QB's is pretty sprawled based on playing style, not a huge favor to either. So if all QBs get sacked at an equal rate regardless of pressure, the mobile QB is setting himself up for a minimum of lets say (guessing) 3 hits per game, 48 per season. So yes their rate of injury will be far greater.
  10. Wade Phillips and Gregg Williams most likely the top two D coordinators in the league. I know Dick Lebeau, will get mentioned. hence I said arguably. That said, if one of the top guys at his job, say top 2 or 3 at what he does in the league. Why would you grab say the 6th best guy? The HC's rely on wins, something Fisher doesn't have many of. Comparing Schwartz to Williams isn't fair at all. That's like saying, Ben Rothlisberger isn't any good because a team signed Tom Brady instead
  11. every play behind center in the cleveland game was a perfect example of why we should never want to see this guy in a real game. this could catch on like 40 year virgin and, "you know how i know your'e gay?"
  12. Fred also did a terrible job at getting low by the way. He hit the hole pretty hi. They were begging for a read option on both 3rd and 4th down. Also putting one WR would have atleast given a little hesitance that we might throw. DIdn't think there was a need for 2 jumbo packages in a row EDIT: referring to going for it on the goal line
  13. on one of Andersons runs for a 1st, I think it was his second, and came on a third and mid to long. Hughes set the edge just fine. The LT got way outside the numbers and had a pretty blatant hold. Hughes makes that play without the hold easy. he was right there.
  14. i thought his highlight might have been an incomplete pass. chandler was in really tight coverage, manuel laid the ball out just before he came out of the break where only chandler could catch it. should have been a completion. i think it is just a timing issue since scotty hasnt been around much in tc
  15. very much like whaley, very happy with schwartz thus far, cautious on marrone, not optimistic about hackett, hate crossman. please don't keep a kickoff specialist with our lack of depth all over the roster and the rash of injuries we seem to incur each year
  16. Seattle pissed in the punch bowl and ruined the party for everybody. I thought both calls today were a bit ticky tacky. I was watching the WAS v NE game, and there was a garbage call on NE that was the same. I don't like it, but as long as they're consistent across the board, I will be ok. It sucks
  17. If the defense remains the same, or improves, Marrone's replacement is already on the roster. Jim Schwartz. Great hire for Marrone, good assistants make the HC look better with better results. His marriage/gamble to Hackett could be his demise. im convinced youre a troll
  18. He has 12 career TD runs, 755 yards per year, in the 61 games played, that is only 49.5 yards per game. Yup top 10. He totally deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence of as AP and Jamaal Charles too! Delusional.
  19. "It wasn't his turn" -Chan Gailey
  20. agreed well thrown after the break. poor timing from both the QB and TE. If Chandler didn't miss a bit of camp, that's a conversion. At first I thought it was a drop until the replay
  21. Oh god, is this really happening. Tebow is terrible, almost embarrassingly bad at the QB position. Tremendous football player, terrible QB this is sarcasm right? what is there to suggest this? if anything the response could be, there isn't enough data to see if Hackett knows what he is doing, good or bad. but keys to the castle? one year? terrible offense and play calling?
  22. My guess is if it wasn't trump, it was almost always Pegula. He is a close family friend of Pegula's other half/business partner in the oil business.
  23. open to it. i would switch hackett for gailey first at oc. hackett is a boy in a mans world
  24. a few things about the recap. why are we running reverses, counters, or jets with Hogan. I understood his snap count early on, but this might be the final push i need to seriously start questioning the staff with moves like this. We have CJ, and Sammy, those two are the ones that get those plays. Hell even Mike Williams. It just seems so forced. I also noticed, at least on yesterday, our stable of RB's seem to be more productive than CJ at camp. He just seems to keep getting stuffed. I wish we would get him in space. Maybe run the ball out of a 4-5 wide set, even having EJ under center. Nothing too crazy. Somebody noted the simplicity of the playbook. A few things with the, "just beat your man" school of thought. One we saw that on defense with Wanny, not sure why we are so accepting of it from Hackett. Two in all of the all 22 video last year, it seemed there were very few play calls, where the play isn't complicated, but with varying degrees of depth from the receivers, or receivers moving in opposite directions. This isn't a complicated task. The most mind blowing play call last year was 3rd and 1, with 4 wide, we run 4 effing go routes. Christ. Manuel needs to step up, but we need an NFL caliber OC. If Hackett were let go this offseason, he wouldn't be offered any HC position of a top 25 program, I think that says a lot.
