  1. FWIW pre ACL injury, Carson Palmer was considered a top 5 QB in the league. Not claiming EJ to have similar trajectory, but if we get pre-injury Palmer QB producion in the next 5-10 years, the Bills would be lucky.
  2. Am I the only who is noticing that Luck doesn't seem to be looking off a single defender. Seems to be staring down receivers.
  3. I don't think Cam and EJ are similar players. The point is EJ isn't slow. And no when I see EJ run I don't think it looks like he is wearing lead cleats. We're just saying things for the sake of saying things.
  4. EJ ran a 4.65, Cam Newton ran a 4.58.
  5. Agreed, he talks a lot about statistics, but on how many 3rd and mid/shorts do we run a play with 2 receivers running two go routes and if we are lucky a tight end running an in/out route (if it isn't a a go route). The chances of completing those go routes is approximately 10-15%. Lets talk about that glaring statistic. That is one of the questions I want answered. It is one of the most, if not the most, glaring mistake in play calling this team seems to run consistently.
  6. I have said for a while that the salary cap should include coaches and trainers salary. It would actually create more parody. I think forcing a team like the Bills to possibly invest in say a QB coach for their 2 rookie QB's, or t Pats to pay Belichick, but that means they possibly can't afford Tommy Boy.
  7. Awesome Work Man !
  8. think your'e reaching pretty hard dude. not saying he's the be all end all, i dont think anybody on this board is saying that. EJ doesn't have a history of injury, and dealing with a knee injury. in fact it is not uncommon to see athletes with one bad knee hurt their other one relying too heavily on it to mask the other. not an excuse, it just is. if EJ has the same knee injuries with you next year, I will join you. The sky is not falling I honestly think as Bills fans we don't deserve nice things. We run everything and everybody out of town unless they are day one HoFers. I seriously doubt Kaep, Wilson, Foles, or any other QB that wasn't a "sure thing" in college would have worked here. It is not a defense of EJ, it isn't EJ specific, it is purely a criticism of the fan base in regards to a number of players and coaches
  9. it's no more cherry picking than picking on the tampa game. 3 games under 65, 3 over 100. take out his best and worst, and he is at an 80. The sample size is only 10, so cherry picking 3 results is basically a third of the sample. summary: we haven't seen enough
  10. you are correct, maybe i am wrong on the game, i was just going off the top of my head. possibly panthers? not sure. thank you for the correction
  11. All depends on the running game, if we get that going, Thad looks decent, throws a TD, rushes for 1, and a pick. 220 yards, about 61% completion. We don't get the run game, expected Thad to look like this: 1 fumble, 2 int's, 2tds 55% possibly under 200 yards for an embarrassing loss. We pick up close to 200 on the ground and the D holds strong, forcing 2 turn overs we in. I guess nothing too special, same as every game so far this year
  12. Christ, are we really whining about not having a terrible Nassib on our roster...
  13. that was obvious. no way the dude was going to play right after a herniated disc.
  14. MODS- can we close this down and or merge it with the other one
  15. I can't the article is yes exhaustive, but not all that informational I think. More missed reads would have been nice. What I am interested in is EJ completion % behind center vs. shotgun. The eye test says he is better from center. His better games seem to come from there. I remember the Ravens game being one of them, almost exclusively behind center. I would be curious as to sacks from the shotgun rather than center. I have no clue, but it would be interesting to see if the shotgun helped or hindered the OL. EJ seems to have a better feel for the pocket from behind center, not just footwork, we also run the ball better from there is well. I also have a sneaking suspicion that he is more accurate from outside the pocket, a la Big Ben.
  16. I think this is a drastic over exaggeration. I will agree the QB position was mishandled, but I do not think it is beyond salvageable as you imply. They also mismanaged the OL big time.
  17. This is why I am pleased with Manuel this year. I don't think he was ever supposed to be our starter this year, then Kolb basically died. Considering that, and the time he missed with what seems to be a nagging knee, I am pleased with EJ's upside. Not defending his play, but I actually think he surpassed expectations a little bit. Not sure he is the answer for us, but he has played pretty well at times (also pretty bad)
  18. i want to believe the same thing as well, because i want to believe the bills found their guy at QB. all of the above, plus the talk about making sure the team is in a position to win... it's just all odd to me
  19. it is really weird to have a QB finish a game, then miss two full weeks. on top of that the coach is 110% sure he will play the closer, and your starting qb has not spoken to the media. it all just seems odd
  20. The issue with the blackouts helping ticket sales is I definitely go to these games, but always scalp or craigslist them. In fact, I rarely if ever use the box office.
  21. ILB WR TE. Two of those should be our first two rounds. Watch for an interior lineman or RT in the 3rd. Then RB and DB through the rest of the draft.
  22. I think Joe B. is quick to criticize sometimes. On the roll out, for EJ to get that deep throw off, he would have been destroyed by the chasing defenders, and gotten off a bad throw to a closing safety on the WR. Joe B seems to follow the company line of criticizing for the sake of it. Keep the QB of the future stuff to a minimum and just show us what happened without creating this not so subtle we are doomed undercurrent
  23. The biggest plus today regardless of stats is that EJ worked the middle of the field and the mid distant throws accurately. That throw down the sideline to Goodwin was money.
  24. Big Ben went to Miami Ohio. In the MAC. A conference that UB is competitive in. A conference Drew Willy won. Miami Ohio has one the conference twice in 30 years. And have 3 bowl games in that time. Being at Tulane is irrelevant Big Ben went to Miami Ohio. In the MAC. A conference that UB is competitive in. A conference Drew Willy won. 25. problems with the passing game.....3 and 1, line up in shotgun, 2 wr, 2rb, and 1 te. everybody stays in to block. both receivers run go routes. literally statistically the least probable passing play in football, the go route, we run 2 on 3rd and short regularly, with sometimes no other option. It seems we beat our heads against the wall with all our receivers running the same or similar routes at the same or similar depths. Most of the all 22 posted on here seems to be 3 hook routes or 3 go routes all the time. no slants or posts ever. I don't think we use anywhere near the entire route tree. Our receivers only exacerbate the problem
