It was more than that. Every time Trentative touched his helmet it was a run, regardless of motion. -

you failed to mention the most important part of the division. THE PATS! if the jets will be tough for us and the phins no walk in the park, what are your thoughts on those two games versus NE -
LaCanfora: bills may be willing to deal Spiller before season
Mango replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given our very serious concerns at OL, I am for it if we can grab a more than quality starting linemen. Nobody can run or pass behind this. The running game will be better if we can get some solid blocking. No matter who is running behind this, it will be garbage. Mind you I am not for losing talent. I am against this for anything other than a really good young OL, even then I cringe a little, but at least get it -
How many times do you want to see EJ pass per game?
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really think this OL has been falsely heralded for too long now. Glenn and Wood are good. Urbik can get hot, to the point where he is our best OL at times. However, Gailey negated how terrible this line was by stretching the sidelines. Our pass protection is terrible, and we seem to magnify our deficiencies by running a bunch of bunch sets. Gailey made this OL look average-ish, and now we seem to be making excuses for them. We lead the league in rushing yards last year, but also ran the ball about 40 carries more than any other team in the league. We were almost right on average with yards per carry. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/sort/yardsPerRushAttempt Our QB carousel was also the 10th most hit in the league last year http://wp.advancedfootballanalytics.com/teamOL.php OL is by far our largest issue currently -
We have surrounded EJ with weapons offensively, he has some footwork issues, that screw with his delivery quite a bit. However from everything I am hearing, we have failed to adequately protect our first round QB. It seems like when he gets the time, he is pretty solid, however, a young QB with footwork issues, is going to struggle exponentially more without good protection. I get a feeling it is going to be a long season with our OL. That needs to be our number one priority next season, give EJ time to set and throw. I am pleased to see him progressing, however it doesn't look like we have upgraded any of our OL deficiencies. I think his play when he is on, is good enough to win us some football games. If anything I think the pressure this year is on our OL to perform, rather than EJ, if that makes sense. This is not a get out of jail free card, but our OL is looking wretched thus far.

Naaman Roosevelt spotted at SJ Fisher
Mango replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he doesn't have pro speed or pro size. not sure where that comes from. good hands, good route runner. 40- 4.6, 6', and 189lbs. if anything he has the know how and the want to, lacks physiology. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=71731&draftyear=2010&genpos=wr -

Joe B.: 5 Bills that could be in danger of being cut
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
urbik isnt going anywhere -
our oline was not good, barely average if that last season. so not sure why they would be referred to as talented. hopefully these rookies can pan out. we still may have large gaps at rt and guard.

Buffalo Sportz Corridor: Outer Harbor Football Stadium
Mango replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
as an urban planning student. this rings so true to me. more public space, and communal areas. less special events. we need more people living in central business districts, not more businesses, and people in the suburbs. http://www.ted.com/talks/amanda_burden_how_public_spaces_make_cities_work?utm_source=email&source=email&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ios-share -
Metrics analysis of the Bills picks and roster
Mango replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am curious. Since you claim to use 15 years of data. Can you calculate the accuracy of your analytic s each draft. Similar to the projection of your front page and projection. So if you have 15 years worth of data, can we see a side by side comparison of pre-draft projection of skill, and actual career. I want to believe in analytics, and these numbers. I just want to see the accuracy of the algorithms you have created, not just cross comparison of athletes, but overall career accuracy of each player you have collected data on. Does this exist? I am not with with others in terms of saying Aaron Williams is our starter and played well this year, so he must be a better player than you project. Only time will tell if that is the truth. The Bills have been playing backups as starters for years. Also, no surprise that McKelvin is tested higher than Gilmore. With any ball skills what so ever he would be better than Gilmore all day. He is the better athlete. Locate the damn ball Leodis!!! -
WR Stevie Johnson traded to San Francisco 49ers
Mango replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
marshawn is light years better than any stevie johnson. the marshawn lynch trade was to dodge a future incedent and long term suspension. not because he didnt provide value to the team. SJ13, while I wish guys like this would fplay their whole career in Buffalo, he didn't do a whole lot under the new regime. Not sure if it was a skill or coaching issue, regardless, he is and never will be the the football player that Lynch is. One is one of the best in the league at his job, the other, even his hometown biased fans, think is a solid not great, number 2 or slot. -
Referendum to help the Bills stay in Buffalo?
Mango replied to DC Grid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The largest site I can think of, the brownfield space you are talking about from Bethlehem Steel, will become a superfund site. It is almost entirely unusable, and a health risk disaster. It is almost a certainty that that site will go unused for most of my lifetime. The cost of cleaning that up for public use as a whole is in the 100's of millions of dollars. While small portions are being sold off, it is in very small portions. No way that site will work without very serious investment, nearly the cost of the stadium itself. Check out the mess that is Hickory Woods, just a few blocks away in South Buffalo. No way the city helps fund a stadium near there, they were/are in a ton of hot water from their last publicly funded build. We where left a disaster in that area. Most don't realize. -
I know first full year of the new regime, but Manuel was no surprise, good or bad spot to grab him, I don't think anybody following the Bills was shocked. Same with Spiller a few years prior. Woods was a gimme as well.
-
so EJ makes a 9th player. Wood has to give him the ball. The question is, who is the lucky 11th guy on the field? We need an 11th guy what is Whaley doing, sleeping?

Source: Bills could have new owner as soon as October
Mango replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Pegula was always part of that group, although nothing was announced. FWIW I used to date a girl, whose family was very close, and business partners with Pegula. Did not realize how much money they where worth then, but am kicking myself now. It's OK, the middle class is treating me well. Jim Kelly is also a close family friend of theirs. The connection is pretty direct, even though it sounds weak. -
I think the sad but true truth here, is that Ralph's legacy will either be forever enshrined or tarnished by how the handling of selling this team goes. If they stay, he will be remembered as King, they leave, and he leaves fans feeling bitter for not being responsible. Please go out a King Mr. Wilson!

NFL network article and EJ interview
Mango replied to White Linen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Video i haven't seen posted after his rookie camp. says Bills offense is simpler than the FSU offense, one that was criticized for EJ only having to see half of the field. Possibly Hackett does this to help progress EJ, possibly a reflection on EJ's NFL readiness, or even a knock on Hackett for not giving the NFL enough credit for need for scheming. Not sure if this has any legs, obviously you have to take these interviews with a grain of salt. -
Which Bills could switch sides of the ball?
Mango replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
obviously kiko would win at all positions, but FB in these situations would suit him perfectly. ok kiko, just run as fast as you can at the guy in the b gap, and go! -
I just don't see TE for the Bills. Chandler, Moeaki, Gragg, Smith. While not great, I just don't see us adding a 5th at the position, especially in the first. I think Moeaki is a big question mark the with ability to move into a really solid addition for us. I wouldn't undersell that at all. I am sure we would like an insurance policy, but you don't grab those in the first round.

40 Yard Line Kickoff Proposal....
Mango replied to KellyToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think eventually the kickers will learn to put more hang time like the punters and will start to try and pin teams deep. it won't happen immediately but the next generation of kickers will adapt is my guess -
not sure how Jim Kelly is not named more on this board. maybe it is the reoccurance of his cancer. my thoughts and prayers to him, but he was never the greatest person.
