Perception of the Team. From an Ex Bills Fan
Mango replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would argue that you were never a fan to begin with. I don't give a shiiiite how many super bowls you went to. I stopped reading after that. Opinion no longer valid to me -
Can we just take a minute and take in the fact that Brandon Spikes is wearing a bathrobe. That might be an NFL first. I think I am in love. Ha

I am with you brother. I have been around for a really long time, and I have almost never found this place so unbearable as it has been these past few weeks. You can't just keep running any player who isn't HOF within 18 months. You don't have to be a blind homer to see that. I really believe sometimes that Bills fans don't deserve nice things, based on how they carry themselves at times.

Name one player that is openly defending others. It is generally not the way these pressers work. I understand the bit of frustration at the end of the Lions game. Guy was out there for about a quarter and almost had his head taken off due to his OL. Reports question whether he is good enough on a day where he did maybe the best of trying to stay strong and firm in the pocket, and deliver the ball down field. Dude was just trying to survive. If the presser would have gone something a little more henchmen like it would have looked like this. Tim G: Hey EJ, it looked like the O was really struggling out there from protection, to routes, to the running game, what happened. The response would be reasonable. EJ: You know we are all out there trying to win our own battles. We will take the next two weeks and try and get better at our roles. Even when the pressure is on, I have to be able to make plays, and so does everybody else. You know standard presser jargon. Can we stop the Orton nonsense. The dude seems to have lived like a frat boy the past few months. He is not an upgrade, we don't want him behind center. His most valuable asset is to help work with EJ in terms of what he is seeing

I would have preferred Rex over Orton. Orton has checked out at this point in his career.

Chiefs Sign Alex Smith to a Four Year Extension
Mango replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL is currently desperate for QB's. There isn't enough talent at the position to fill all 32 starting roles. No way his production is worth the cost, but you have to keep the commodity you have. QB contracts are starting to become really inflated. Lucks new deal will be interesting -
I don't think it is a log time. In fact I think any information regarding price and terms of the deal are pure speculation. I would imagine an NDA for a billion dollar transaction is air tight.

CJ Spiller now has an Agent: Extension or UFA?
Mango replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on if he is productive this year. If not he will want to walk. -
You took all the fun out of it

I've been banging this drum forever and I am sure somebody will complain. Contact sport trainers generally have little knowledge of the intricacies of the body. Sammy took little to know contact on the ribs on the play a few weeks ago. Stress fracture, over use, non-contact. Also doesn't show up on extrays. Painful at fire, drastic improvement quickly, without proper stretching and strengthening it will nag anytime he increases range of motion. So if he is being treated for a bruise, and not strengthening the intercostals, which have weakened, then every time they engage they will put extra pressure back on the rib. This injury is also commonly misdiagnosed in sports that don't see it regularly. There is a chance all the work he did up to the combine, rookie camp, then our lengthened and more intense camp are the reason. It will continue to linger for weeks. Once the healing starts he is good to go, and it is just management of pain, restrengthening, and stretching.

What Is The Right Mix of Hurry Up Offense?
Mango replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know no huddle isn't a ToS enhancer, that is why I was curious about Peyton. The comment on Kelly wasn't ment to be a knock on him, but rather to reference if Mannings ability to manage the no huddle helps diminish that weakness at all. I totally agree on Boomer, but as I recall, they were the first to run it, and even beat the Bills in the AFC Championship game with it. More of a timeline than a commentary on the list. The overall point is that each guy has done it better than the next is all. -
well played sir

That's a 66% completion percentage😃

What Is The Right Mix of Hurry Up Offense?
Mango replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok cool, and Boomer Esaison did it a year before Kelly. Manning makes Kelly look like a Peewee backup in the way he commands the offense. Obviously hyperbole, but Kelly took Boomer and made it effective, Manning took Kelly and perfected it. I am on my phone and don't want to deal with looking up vintage stats, but Kelly and Co were traditionally the worst in the league at ToP. Anybody know where Indy used to fall, or more recently Denver. Their pace is so up and down, I can't really even make a guesstimate. -
So the joke needs to stop because of your own personal notification settings...got it! Noted, ignored, thrown out!

Game situation determines the mix. Take a look at Manning. This dude revolutionized the way QB is played, manages a team, and runs an offense. I know post season... But the way this guy understand how to pace offense during the game is unbelievable. -
Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Mango replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't just directed at you, but regarding the finding a veteran starter/back up. I am ok with things to a certain extent. Historically it seems that once a rookie takes the reigns as a starter, they are rarely success if demoted back to back up, and EJ was the starter for a significant amount of time. Had Kolb not gotten hurt we may be having a different conversation. The last thing we want in the internet age is a QB controversy with a young kid. While coaches and FO offices don't necessarily take fan opinion as the be all end all, out voices are louder than ever, and FO do hear displeasure and take that into some consideration. That said I am not happy with the back up situation -
Is Thad still PS eligible?

I wish people got cut based on clerical errors or accidental clicks like a video game

Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Mango replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This situation has been well documented days ago. I guess Whaley just reached a boiling point. Ralph is cheap, and Marrone is gaining weight and stealing food. http://www.dailymail...n-note-war.html EDIT: I am an idiot, and typed the wrong weight/wait -

Turmoil brewing between Marrone and Whaley?
Mango replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was reported choice words, implying that some were heard. Why not report those? I have my opinions about the fighting incident, I fall on the side of red flag, but would be willing to concede that it is non-issue, and understand the thought process. However pairing these two together in the last few weeks is not. -

I think we have agreed to a certain extent, that Marrones career will depend on Hacketts ability and loyalty to him. If the offense is not improved this year, Whaley will ask for Hackett's head. His tenure will be determined in his ability to deliver it. EJ has struggled at points, but I think most, even a good amount of EJ haters, can agree there are things that EJ is strong at. One is play action, and outside plays. My biggest knock on Hackett is his use of them sparingly rather than as a foundation of the offensive system. -
Comparing EJs 1st 10 Games to Kelly's
Mango replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We don't even have to step out of our own roster on this one. Fred wasn't the one doing the vocal leading early in his career either. you forgot he only threw 422 yards on those attempts. ha but a serious question, did he ever get a 300 yard game with any team. if memory serves me correct, he didn't get one here.
